"This aptly named establishment (a warm welcome does await!) is an excellent option in the heart of the Haut-Doubs. For four generations, this inviting and comfortable chalet that is typical of the region has been practising the art of Jura-style hospitality. St Point Lake is across the road, Le Suchet mountain and Switzerland just beyond. Here, they put their heart and soul into providing good food that is an ode to the region. Chef Marc Faivre worked at Georges Blanc, Pierre Gagnaire and Maison Lameloise before returning to his homeland, where his fine and tasty cuisine delights diners: trout with blue cheese or absinthe, free-range chicken, morels and Jura vin jaune sauce (of course!) or roast pigeon, duck foie gras and artichoke." - Michelin Inspector

We arranged to stay at Le Bon Accueil as a stopover on our way to the south of France. It is in a beautiful location -a very peaceful but interesting village overlooking a lake in the foothills of the mountains. It must be lovely in the snow but it is beautiful in the summer - ideal for walking and boating. Comfortable, large, well furnished but relatively simple room but the real reason to stay here is the food and wine. Marc Faivre's cooking is elegant and precise - subtle flavours using local produce. We had a subtly spiced fera - a local freshwater fish - with a saffron foam and delicately cooked lamb. Plus a selection of local cheeses - a speciality of the Jura. And the restaurant has a wine list featuring a wide range of carefully selected wines from the Jura including vin jaune and vin de paille. The sommelier was very helpful in choosing a local wine to complement the dishes. Catherine Faivre presides over front of house with charm and efficiency. Breakfast the following morning was excellent too - very correct with delicious bread and viennoiserie, locally made jams, a locally made yoghurt and proper coffee in a jug. Great value for this level of cooking - a warm recommendation. Worth a big detour! Seek it out - you won't be disappointed.

A very nice, highly recommendable family owned Restaurant and Hotel in the lovely upper Doubs area of the French Jura near Pontarlier.||You will love the excellent high quality local food, which is prepared by the Chef Marc Faivre to perfection! Choose also a great typical local Arbois wine for your meal, recommanded by Catherine Faivre. Do not forget to try the local 'Gentiane' digestive, with your final coffee, which is a rarity of the area!||The Hotel rooms are nice, modern and clean.||The service in the Hotel and Restaurant is very friendly and professional! ||We are visiting 'Le bon Accueil' since many years and we always leave reluctantly, looking forward to the next visit!||||Go and enjoy! :-)

We stayed here a couple of years ago and were very impressed. On this visit we had a nice enough room, fine for a three star hotel, and a friendly welcome plus a decent breakfast. What disappointed us was the dinner which seemed to lack the creativity of our first visit. In particular, the Grand Desert has become less ambitious, but we felt that the creative use of fairly ordinary ingredients to create something really excellent had disappeared. The food is good, but no longer outstanding, and of a significantly lower standard than experienced in other 1 Michelin star restaurants in France which we have visited in the last couple of years. When we stayed previously, the restaurant was packed; this time it was busy but not packed; perhaps that is the best comment on standards. I would stay here again, but certainly wouldn't go out of my way to do that, and would consider other options on the drive from Switzerland to the UK.

Stayed here for one night on a trip through the Jura. It is on the (quiet) road through Malbuisson so is easy to find and park. The rooms looked good on the web site and were certainly spacious, comfortable, warm (it was snowing) and well lit. The bathroom was newly done. My only complaint about the room was that we were above the kitchen entrance and every time someone came in the room shook. Fortunately this did not go on all night. There is free wifi but it took them three attempts to find me the correct password.||||The main draw of Bon Accueil is the Michelin starred restaurant. Oddly (maybe the snow put people off) we were the only diners although not the only residents. The food is exceptionally good and there are menus starting from 30 Euros (ish). ||||Breakfast was a bit limited (very French), I had to ask for fruit and the only cereal they had was a chocolate one. Maybe they offer more when busier, March is their low season. However what we had was good quality, and they had green tea no problem.||||Malbuisson is on the Lac Saint Point and it's an easy walk from the hotel and you can walk around the lake. In January and February there is cross-country skiing.

Several weeks ago, we reserved 2 nights at the Hotel Le Bon Accueil with it's Michelin 1 Star Restaurant. At the beginning the hotel was fully booked but then an electronic email came and stated they had a room for the 2 nights. When we arrived and were shown our room and I asked if they had booked the restaurant? The answer in an unfriendly tone from an employee was NO, they were completely filled up in the restaurant! ||||We were then "passed" on to the wife of the owner. She (in the same tone as the employee) told us in an arrogant manner that we had not booked the restaurant! By the way on the first reservation in the electronic system the restaurant was booked but somehow got lost in the second booking!||||Why would somebody travel several hundred kilometers and not want to eat at the Michelin 1 Star Restaurant?||||The reaction of the owners wife was extremely unfriendly and in an unprofessional tone. But maybe they do not need customers!||||We will never go there again.

There are no instructions in english or spanish, so it's a big accessibility trouble, cause it's difficult to ask for services. Also, the staff is impatient to attend, so my family partner had a bad experience here.

Enjoyed a lovely meal and service was excellent. Tip - there are several entre plats so a dessert is hardly necessary.
