Le Bonheur dans le Pré

This little hotel is located in a quiet village in the northern part of the Haute-Savoie hills. It enjoys a splendid view of the higher mountains to the south and west, which can be enjoyed from some of the rooms, and the outside seating areas. The family room, which we stayed in, is spacious and comfortable, and the beds comfortable. The decor style is a bit eclectic, but nice. Breakfast is very good. Please note that you need to carry your luggage up a staircase to the rooms, that are all on the first floor. We highly recommend this hotel - and do not forget to treat yourself to dinner in the restaurant, which is absolutely delicious.

We are a family of 4 who drove to this destination. About 45 to 60 min from Geneva airport. We arrived at 3.30pm. We were told the check-in time was 4pm. Very regimental we thought. Although not actually unfriendly, the lady seemed so. Just very direct, felt a bit uncomfortable. We asked if there were any nice places around and she said 'yes'. And then I asked if she could give us a bit more information. The evening dinner here is apparently a 'sell out'. We didn't realise that and I think that was our mistake. So, we ended up getting a pizza take away instead. Breakfast was decent and they were happy to make us omelettes as well. Not a huge spread, but definitely healthy. The gentleman gave us some info about the nearby Lake Leman. Worth a short drive up. The rooms sadly had no kettle, so we could not make tea or coffee and had to ask them every time. If you're in the area, make sure that you schedule a visit to this restaurant. And book in advance. The couple who run the place are charming and attentive, and we thoroughly enjoyed our dinner experience. We selected a local wine from the cave (which is also worth a stroll) and enjoyed the fact that the small amount of tables allow the hosts to chat a bit with everyone there. Highly recommended.
