"Appetising, up - to - the - minute food, reinvented daily, a prettily appointed interior (terracotta tile floors, old beams and mirrors) and the wonderful terrace, which is a haven of greenery in the town centre. It isn’t difficult to understand why this establishment is so popular with Nantes’ inhabitants!" - Michelin Inspector

We took this recommendation from staff at a wine shop near the river and it did not disappoint. We arrived to find a stunning courtyard with a bustling atmosphere. The menu offered excellent value at €38 for three courses, of which I began with a delicious food gras course, while my partner enjoyed the veal tartare. For mains, my pork belly was crispy yet tender with a rustic sweet potato accompaniment and the fresh crunchy of julienned veg helped cut through the richness. Salmon with fresh pea puree and a mustard sauce was light and well cooked. I enjoyed a cheese plate, which I would have liked to have seen a blue cheese to add variety, bit was good all the same. Over the table, my girlfriend had a very good rum Baba. Service was of a very high standard and the ambiance was fantastic.

Excellent dinner. Very interesting menu, great staff, wonderful cooking. Highly recommended. It deserves a place in the Bib Gourmand.

Absolutely fabulous food and very warm welcoming atmosphere with great service. The building itself is ancient and a lovely dining environment. We were a little unlucky with the weather so couldn't go on the terrace/garden this time (but we'll be back!)

One of the best meals I have had in years. Throughout, service was friendly and attentive, and they didn’t complain about our atrocious French! We will come back for the sauces that accompanied our mains alone, but overall it was a fabulous meal. Couldn’t recommend more highly. I can see why it has been in business for so long. Top class.

Le Bouchon is a restaurant that is still having same owners since 20 years. The quality and the service (managed by the son of the owner) is on a very high standard. The restaurant has several inside parts and an outside part in the garden that is great when nice weather. The atmosphere of a star restaurant. Food is just great we had special egg with mushroom and other items, just delicious. The main dish was samon in a gruyere skin with veggies also here was delicious. The dessert was a cup cake with several creme of different nuts, to ask another. As wine we had a great red wine. They have a dinner menu who give you a good feeling when leave table. For sure a place to visit or revisit when you in nantes.

Hadn't gone there since celebrating my baccalaureate 20 years ago. Eating in the garden was just as enjoyable as back then and the food is quite tasty, albeit expensive.

A fantastic evening with fabulous food, gorgeous garden setting, perfect ambiance, perfect staff - the best meal I have had in years and at a ridiculously reasonable price. This is a gem.

Yelp
Extraordinary perfection from food to ambiance. Le Bouchon is a must visit restaurant in the city of Nantes, France. The cozy ambiance from the front door into the various dining salons captures your attention as you are shown to your table by the owner Pascal. The gastro experience begins with a cocktail and wine selection that matches any Paris restaurant. The regional cuisine is prepared with a contemporary flair. I highly recommend the scallops. I generally eat gluten free and the chef accommodated my pallet while not sacrificing selection and flavor from appetizer to dessert. We visited Le Bouchon in the early spring but I would love to be at the restaurant in the summer dining in their outside garden. To Pascal and her family I thank you for the most memorable dining experience in Nantes at Le Bouchon.
