As far as french food goes the food is really tasty here. Also they have an amazing wine selection. A great selection on the menu for both meat and fish eaters. The atmosphere is very rustic and cosy but can get loud on weekends on an evening.

Google
Decent French food! I guess not many restaurants in London have Escargot, but this place does, with a reasonable price and quality. It was my first try, but I loved it!! That was the main reason why I visited here, but other foods were also tasty, we ordered scallops, duck and beef tartare, everything was absolutely fav❤️

Google
A nice restaurant with outdoor seating Delicious food As we ordered: -snail 👌🏼 - Risotto 😍 -cod (Amazing) -veal chop (so delicious) - beef tartar ( lovely) I believe all the food are so amazing I would like to thank Steve and Hesham as they welcoming, friendly and so concerned. Also the do have a private room for special occasion.

Google
Friendly and attentive staff make this bustling restaurant perfect for a cozy meal for two. However, the table were so close in this covid time. The food was well prepared in the classical French style and the wine list is comprehensive. The wine waiter was most helpful. We will definitely be returning when the forth wave is over.

Google
We dined at Le Boudin Blanc on a weeknight, and it's clearly a popular choice as the dining room was very busy. The waitstaff handled the diner's needs efficiently and with unobtrusive style. Our meal, chosen from the chalkboard listing specials for the evening, was perfectly cooked and delicious, and complemented well by the wine we chose with help from the sommelier. The one drawback was the noise level in the dining room; while not objectionable in itself, it wasn't what we would have desired that night. Overall, though, you will not be disappointed in the atmosphere, the service, or the food, all of which were warm and excellent.

Great French cuisine and I am French and picky! Went for the boudin blanc and was not disappointed. Asparagus starter greatly recommended. Very good wine although can be very expensive too.

Very good. Safe to eat with allergies - staff is very careful and ready to go an extra mile to ensure a tasty dish is served. Thank you

Amazing food, lovely service. Great opportunity to catch up with colleagues. Love the opportunity to meet friend and have a good time.

Yelp
This is generally in my rotation for more casual french food in a lively atmosphere. This is not a place you come for a quiet secluded table. You are on top of everyone and that generally adds to the experience. We had the sole which was fine but I found quite a few bits of bone in mine which I had not experienced in the past. Next time I will probably go viande just in case.

Yelp
Excellent French Bistro at a surprisingly reasonable price point for London accompanied by a well curated wine list. Duck confit, steaks, Dover sole, etc. the menu has a wide variety of choices for just about any tastes. I'd easily recommend to friends.

Yelp
One word to sum up the entire meal: delightful. A cozy, romantic restaurant in the heart of Mayfair along a cobblestone path. While the menus we had were in French, there is an online version that is also in English. Every bite we had was scrumptious and the service was impeccable. The staff was attentive, but slightly aloof. That didn't bother me at all. I appreciate the flattering dim lighting and how every seat in the restaurant makes you feel like you're alone with your guests at your table. I should add that the restaurant wasn't just packed with couples. I saw a table of six friends catching up for drinks and dinner. The cost for the meal was pretty reasonable in comparison to quality of the food and service. I definitely recommend a stop at Le Boudin Blanc, if you're in Mayfair one night.

Yelp
I love Shepherds Market and Le Boudin Blanc has been at this corner for as long as I remember. So grateful to have friends who book the cosy private room for a beautiful celebratory dinner. We chose from a set menu and every item was simply delicious. The beetroots in the goats cheese salad was so delectable they outshone the main ingredient, the pork terrine was obviously home made and smelled and tasted delicious. I opted for the salmon main but also had a taste of the mushroom risotto (not a lame vegetarian option - wild mushrooms with a gentle hint of truffle oil). Lemon tart to finish off the meal and we all left happy ...

Yelp
If You're Looking For Rude, THIS Is Your Place! First of all, let me say that the food was fine. Not off the chart, but tasty and decently presented. The service on the other hand was absolutely atrocious! We came to this restaurant on the recommendation of our concierge. My wife asked to be seated outside as it was a lovely evening. We were seated at the table immediately next to the front door even though there were better tables available, but it was extremely smokey from the houkkah bar next door and we asked to be moved inside. We were seated at the table immediately next to the bathroom. Not wanting to be "ugly Americans" we took our sets and asked for still water when offered. They brought us glasses of "Tap" ice and a bottle of mineral water and proceeded to pour. I am happy to pay for bottled water, but why on earth would I want it poured over ice cubes made with tap water? I may as well save the money and get tap water! I tried to explain this concept to 2 successive wait staff but none seemed to understand what I wanted or why I would be vexed. It took another 20 minutes before anyone would come back to the table for our order, this time a new, third waiter. Marci asked her usual Gluten Free questions, was asked if she would like some Gluten Free bread, and we placed our orders. She was the only one to receive any bread, and there was no butter or olive oil or anything other than a two pound upcharge; the rest of the table never received any bread although bread baskets were evident around the restaurant. Our wine and cocktails came, our appetizers came and then we sat and waited for our entrees. And waited. And waited. Almost an hour! When I asked, we were told that it would be another 8 minutes, but the food was brought out immediately after the question. Had it been sitting under the food lamps for 20-30 minutes or was I just a rude & impatient diner who should sit & shut up & take whatever food and attitude was hurled at me? We finished our meal. spoke with the "hostess" about our complaints and were told she would inform management. The manager had been at the service station behind us several times throughout the evening, but he was magically "not there" when we wanted to complain. So I complain to all of you! SKIP THIS PLACE.

Yelp
A cute French dinner spot across the street from a bunch of Lebanese and Persian restaurants. It's a bit tiny inside - low ceilings, narrow walkways, and maybe three stories high. Kitchen and dish washing on the top floor, hidden from the public. Daily specials written in French on chalkboards but menus fortunately have English too. Waitstaff were also French and very efficient with their service. Our group of six ordered a bottle of Pinot Noir and Merlot, which went well with half the group ordering meat and the other fish. Both went down smooth and had little aftertaste. Shared appetizers include snails (a dozen for the table) with strong garlic and a green (pesto?) butter sauce, amazing mussels in garlic wine sauce, and a bit of grilled yellowfin with quinoa. My favorites were the mussels by far. Their free bread was pretty amazing too by the way - firm outside and chewy inside. For my own starter I ordered the fish soup, which reminded me of bisque. Very savory and hearty - must be the broth. The shredded cheese melted quickly and added more richness. Bread slices came with this yellow sauce that looked like mustard but tasted like roasted garlic - divine. For entree, I ordered the duck confit, which arrived in a cute little cast iron pot. It was cooked in beans and pork sausage - a cassoulet. Duck meat had wonderful charred skin and the meat was well seasoned, enhanced by the sweet sauce they offered on the side. Beans were a bit too much so I finished maybe half only. Desert was chocolate fondant with praline ice cream. It's similar to a lava cake, but based on a flour less shell filled with hot fudge that oozed out when cut open. Very rich and decadent - having a side of black coffee is a must. Overall a nice, reasonably price French place in London that I would highly recommend. I haven't been to France yet but could sense they are probably authentic. One of our group members don't eat pork products so the wait staff will not make substitutions as it would alter the main dishes. Luckily they have nice beef options without pork too.

Yelp
Stunning meal at Le Boudin Blanc. I had snails followed by lamb which were both delicious. Service was attentive and quick throughout the evening and made us feel very welcome. Totally paid for what we got and would love to come again!

Esayem S.

Yelp
I love, love, love this place! Their escargot was so good! You just want to keep having more! Wine had good selections. We were so hungry and wanted to order everything. Our waitress was kind enough to inform us that it was. Alot of food and she made her recommendations. Glad she did. They were great recommendations and I would be back to try the rest. Great food, great service!

Chari A.

Yelp
Quaint, historic restaurant. The dishes authentic French cuisine. I had the steak tartare and hubby had the filet which was cooked to perfection (rare). Along with a Pinot noir from a very tiny estate, couldn't have asked for a better meal. The wait staff attentive, gracious and welcoming.

Yelp
Super cute place with delicious food! Perfect for a date night or a group dinner. Prices are reasonable. Everything tasted fresh and had lots of flavor. I will definitely be returning the next time I visit London. Nestled in a cute area with lots of other resturants. I highly recommend eating here. It's best to make a reservation beforehand.

Yelp
Great wine selection and the food was lovely. One of my go to spots Anytime I am in the Market I pop in. Cheers Joe

Yelp
This was a cozy restaurant and the wait staff were friendly and helpful. I enjoyed the ambiance very much *but* all of the dishes lacked seasoning. I started with the french onion soup and it tasted fine but needed a pinch or three of salt. My friend had escargot, which is not something I'm super familiar with but I thought it tasted okay. My entree was the pork belly and it was properly cooked and very nice looking, but (again) didn't have enough salt. The same was true of the lamb shank. It's too bad because the restaurant is cute but the food didn't do it for me.

Yelp
Wonderful. Simply wonderful I've had dinner at Le Boudin Blanc twice now. The first time I was out to pints with 2 colleagues of mine and we stumbled upon Le Boudin Blanc in search of food. I love when a french restaurant only employs french people so I was immediately excited to dine here. When I approached the host stand they had just turned away a couple due to the lack of space. I approached the host in French, which he seemed to enjoy since he moved a few things around and was able to seat us in 15minutes. We sat at an adorable table in an upstairs room. Would be great for a date. From then on the meal was pure bliss. The wine was perfection, all our meals were perfection and dessert - perfection!! Even the french waitstaff are nice! I had the poulet special and my friends had beef. It was one of those meals where you don't talk all that much because the food is so good! For such an amazing, authentic meal the price really isn't that bad. Actually, its extremely reasonable. I'd suggest making a reservation as I think we may have gotten lucky being able to eat without one I highly recommend Le Boudin Blanc and know I'll be eating here again (and again and again)

Yelp
Before I had a chance to write my review after my first visit, I was there a second time (not by choice). So I'll give you double the feedback here! First visit: This restaurant was recommended by concierge at 45 Park Lane. We wanted something not terribly expensive, nearby, and good. It was 8 pm on a weeknight and the restaurant only had a few tables. Mostly out-of-towners on business. They were only seating on the group level. For our party of two, although there were several other tables open by the windows, they sat us directly next to a man dining by himself. Or should I say, someone who had dined and was now on his mobile phone chatting with a newspaper in front of him. We should have asked to be moved but did not. Instead, we felt like our private meal had an uninvited third guest. Very stupid way to seat patrons. The food was ok.Drinks were also ok. All in all, just ok and fortunately the price was reasonable(ish), especially for Mayfair. We were entertained by the businessman at a table near us with his paid-entertainment for the evening. So obvious bro. So obvious. After that visit, I didn't really have any desire to come back. Cue the second visit. Americans were in town and a client of one of them highly recommended Le Boudin. Really? Out of thousands of restos in London, she recommends one I've been to and didn't care much for? I begrudgingly made the booking for 7:30 on a Thursday. Immediately, things were different. The ground floor was packed and I was brought upstairs. Gasp - there is an entire other level with a large back room too! My french onion soup was very good. I know some people expect this as a 'given' at french restaurants. Well I don't and they deserve credit for it. I had previously ordered the lamb shank (ok enough, lacking much flavor) but went with the Steak Tartare this time. It wasn't bad, but I should have ordered it as my starter rather than a main. Too much raw meat for me. Note, when they ask if you want bread and butter, and you say yes, they will charge you for it. I did eat some of a companions' rib eye. Now that was solid. The apple tart tatin was delightful. The service was five star. We felt tended to. Checked in on. And the etiquette, trained very well. You could see they were taught never to reach over a patron and would go around the table to bring something. I haven't seen such classic and well-trained service in such a long time. Really stand out. Here we go with two vastly different experiences. One, easily forgettable with no hint of well trained servers or a kitchen above mediocre. A second visit with long-lost and much missed excellent service and much more flavorful food. I don't know if you'll get Jekyll or Hyde. But if someone asked me to dine there again, I'd say yes.

Megan H.

Yelp
I just cant put up with rude service. I get it - I'm not in Kasas (san francisco) anymore, but don't tell me how and when to order. Also, don't make me feel like I am inconveniencing you by eating in your restaurant! Other than that, the food was really good. Escargot, Foie, beef tartare for starters and monk fish as a main. I think the monk fish could have been cooked more thoroughly - it has a weird fibrous texture when not cooked fully. The creme brulee and ice cream was great....the dessert waffle was totally blah. Sidenote: if you can handle the service, this would be a great date place!...very romantic and cozy.

Vaulte K.

Yelp
Cosy & authentic French bistro, if you can get past the faint aroma of cheesy armpit that permeates the space. Fastidious Wait staff but frequently overbooked and off their feet. Romantic at night by candlelight but a little bit down-at-the-heel in the cold light of day - but full of atmosphere nonetheless. Friendly in that familiar off-handed, blasé manner that the French have perfected but more gracious to regulars, although French language gets you further.

Michael R.

Yelp
Solid French food in a warm, nice, and unpretentious atmosphere. One of the better steaks I've had in recent years, perfectly charred while still rare. Good wine list with plenty of budget options. I'd give 4.5 stars if possible.

Steve F.

Yelp
Fantastic restaurant. Staff was incredibly helpful and generous with their portions. I would highly recommend this establishment. Particularly the French onion soup was amazing. The Manager Pierre was extremely professional.

Lars F.

Yelp
Had dinner here tonight with three others outside. There are about a dozen tables for two hat are easily combined to make a table for six. Inside looks cozy, but it was a nice evening. Only problem is smokers are outside as well. A tiny street, but really a wide side walk as no cars come down the side with tables. There is a Lebanese restaurant right across the walk way and some club across the street. There are always Lamborghini or Ferrari or Rolls Royce pulling up and fancy dressed people popping out. The wait time outside is long and inside always looks crowded. Surprising they have beer despite the large wine list. Ordered yellowtail risotto as a starter. The asparagus added a nice touch of crunchiness. Then came the sausage with pistachios and mashed potatoes. Nice. Others ordered the crab, onion soup, sole, and chicken and everyone thought the meal was good. Not great, but good. I'm actually not one to judge French food as I rarely patronage French restaurants.

Yelp
My friend and I came here for Valentine's Day during on trip to London. We were a little late for our reservation after a shoe incident and navigating our way here. Nonetheless, the hostess was kind and we were still quickly seated. We did not feel rushed during our meal. A server was very helpful in wine recommendations - there's an extensive list! We started with the grilled yellowfin tuna appetizer, served with quinoa and some greens in a light soy dressing. It was delicious and my friend said she wished she could have ordered it as her entree. Instead she ordered the mushroom-stuffed chicken with vegetables, which she said was also really well cooked - and she is a picky eater. I got the duck confit because it felt fittingly French. I was a little nervous about the raspberry vinegar jus and it would be overly sweet like some duck dishes. To my pleasant surprise, it was a very balanced flavor, and the duck was cooked beautifully. It was not dry or tough at all. We were a little full for dessert, but they looked and smelled amazing. I'm glad we found this quaint little restaurant by chance!

Yelp
We came here for a special dinner last night. I was happy with the rich flavours of the food, but the service felt a little bit detached. The restaurant itself is hidden a short walk from Green Park. The interior feels homely with the tables close together. We shared half a bottle of red wine and had an entree and main each. We would usually have dessert, but we just felt too full after the main! I enjoyed my french onion soup (so much melted emmental - yum!) and I had a thick piece of veal with potatoe dauphinoise afterwards. My wife had the pork belly which was given the verdict of delicious. Overall, it was a nice meal to have on a cold winter night (and pouring with rain!).

Keith M.

Yelp
Really enjoyed this Mayfair French restaurant near Green Park. Excellent food and service. Very friendly French and English speaking staff. We had the Grouse, veal chop and sea bass, plus a couple of sides. Nice wine list, good choices on menu. About 170 quid with a bottle of French rose. Would definitely come back again!

Yelp
Summary based on a few lunches: --very good food --good, helpful service --upscale choice in this area --perhaps less suitable for a hurried tourist lunch than some other close by choices in Shepherd Market

Herry L.

Yelp
Le Boudin Blanc in once racy Shepherd Market is one of those unchanging verities - very French, very busy and totally reliable. Architecturally convoluted (but with space outside in good weather), it always seems full, yet a table can be magically produced from a dark corner and you will soon be delighted by the familiar and perfectly-executed dishes and well-chosen and reasonable wines. This was the first restaurant address I gave my daughter when she became old enough to be taken out by boys who might be unsure where to go, and they were delighted, as it's one of those rare places where the bill always seems to be smaller then you expect, and the atmosphere authentic and fun.

Qype User (thegru…)

Yelp
Boudin Blanc is a shrine to the French bistro as the English imagine it to be all dark wood, big plates and hearty cooking. There's no fancy fusion or haut cuisine. From poached fish in butter and cream sauce to snails by the dozen, it's bistro classics all the way. But just because it's not full of surprises, that doesn't meant it's not good. The food here is classic, sure, but it's classically goodwell, classically great actually. Braised leek & dandelion salad and vegetable soup starters were perfectly done. Surprisingly bold and forceful, there was no wilting in terms of flavour or texture - they were packed full of both. Mains of poached haddock and a chicken linguine were bistro cooking at its best. The fish was gently smoked, firm, flaky and toothsome. The sauce creamy without being too rich. Chicken was deliciously chickeny, moist and tasty breast meat complemented by a gentle paprika cream sauce that clung to al dente linguine. We finished off with Ile Flotant a semi set meringue floating in a sea of vanilla custard. The eggy island was good, but the ocean of vanilla was even better. A great end to the meal. Boudin Blanc's chefs cook with a mixture of simplicity and finesse, something deceptively hard to achieve. Everything was cooked to perfection, but not messed around with too much. There is a caveat however: if you're vegetarian, phone ahead because the menu makes no allowances for you. We ended up paying a la carte prices for what we thought was a veggie substitution for the set menu main course. A nasty little surprise that was sprung after we had eaten our food, and something that was absiolutely not made clear beforehand. And no apology for any mix up which would have smooothed ruffled feathers. To be fair, on a previous occasion we had rung ahead and they had been really good about it, fixing something special, which was partly why we had come back. If it weren't for this, and the fact the food is so well cooked, I'd think twice before returning. But the food really is good it reminds me of Galvin Bistro do Luxe. And so I will most likely give it a chance to wipe away the bad memories.

Yelp
We came here for dinner on Wednesday night. I had never been before but it was a favourite of my companions - so when it came to ordering I let myself be guided by them and ordered exactly the same as they did- snails and rib eye steak. This is the second time I've had snails now and my opinion so far is that by themselves they are not much to get excited about. It seems to me that basically they are an accompaniment to add some texture to the garlic butter. Is that fair? I suppose the snails are needed as I felt less guilty eating the garlic butter with the snails than I did about just eating the excess from my bowl with a spoon. I'd been told that the steak was going to be the best steak I had ever had. It was very nice but it wasn't, Gaucho and Hawksmoor steaks are better. The steak here had great flavour but it didn't have the amazing texture the best rib eye steaks have. We had a nice big bowl of spinanch on the side. We had 2 bottles of a pinot noir which was brilliant but about twice the price of the types of wines I would normally choose. You get what you pay for though, it was almost the best wine I'd ever had

Yelp
The No1 French Restaurant in London. Service, food, ambiance, wine or just have dessert. This little hidden restaurant is a must for a wine filled lunch or a food filled dinner. If you love french food and you have not been to Le Boudin Blanc time to make an appointment.

Yelp
I ate at this restaurant twice. The first was wonderful and the second was very average. The chef changes the menu every week, which is fantastic if you are looking for change and unpredictability. I am a business traveller; I was coming back for the wonderful dish that I tried there the first time. So I was a bit disappointed. The steaks according to my colleagues were wonderful both times. So I would recommend that. The fish dishes were more debatable. Some of my colleagues liked it while I and other colleagues were not impressed with the freshness of the ingredient or the heaviness of the sauce. As far as prices go, this is a very reasonable French restaurant in one of the cutest of areas (just off of Piccadilly before Green Park). With a starter, a main and a glass of wine, the cost is roughly 30-35 quids per person.

Alexandra T.

Yelp
We ate here two weeks ago. An intimate environment with a very helpful wait staff. We stated with the chicken liver pate and escargot. Both were delicious. We got the ribeye steak and the duck for entrees and paired them with a bottle of Bordeaux. Both entrees were cooked perfectly and the wine was delicious! Overall, a very good meal and we would certainly return!

Joseph S.

Yelp
Everything here is very good.. except for the fact that if you sit upstairs your flatware will roll off the table.. LOL... happened to us a few times!!! The food here is excellent.. the escargots is a great dish... Good upscale French to enjoy with a loved one... NOT FOR KIDS !!!!!

Yelp
For photos see Greedy Diva @ http://greedydiva.blogspot.com/2011/02/le-boudin-blanc-mayfair.html I've always wanted to eat in that cute little pocket of Mayfair that is Shepherds Market. There's a hubbub of pubs and bistros and arty looking boutiques, and it's perfectly positioned near the Curzon Mayfair for a drink or a bite before a movie. It's one of those places I often walk past on my way to somewhere else, thinking "I must come back here" and then I promptly forget all about it. And then the lovely R popped the question to my amazing friend A, A said "yes", and there was serious champagne to be drunk. They chose Le Boudin Blanc, a favourite little restaurant of theirs in the heart of Shepherds Market, which promised to provide a touch of Paris in London - with ex-Le Gavroche head chef, Nicolas Laridan, at the stove to boot. Yes please. Le Boudin Blanc is all very cosy and romantic inside. The downstairs room is probably the most atmospheric, but there are 2 rooms upstairs, looking down onto the surrounding laneways, with wooden tables, candlelight and stone floors. It's warm and wintry and quaint. The place has character. And its nice to be spoken to in French for a bit - even if you don't know what it means, it sounds good and you can pretend you are Audrey Tatou. They see the way to my heart early on - I agree to switch tables before my friends have arrived and am rewarded with a bubbly kir royale. Magnifique. From a classic selection of starters like moules marinieres, escargots and duck egg with Morteau sausage, I choose the excellent salmon tartar (£8.50) with lemon oil, dill, white radish and a mustard mayonnaise - it's silky and GORGEOUS. TPG's fish soup (£6.10) is cheesy and lusciously rich - another hit. Perhaps owing to the enthusiastic consumption of champagne up to this point, I can't remember what the other starters were, but I do recall the general sentiment of approval and that the boys were talking about Star Wars. Or Return of the Jedi. Or one of those other crap movies that all boys like. A big, fleshy Dover sole meuniere (£20.50) is swimming in butter, although beautifully moist, and it's the most filling thing I've eaten in a while. The 10 oz rib eye steaks (£19.50) are big and juicy, although TPG's looks like its more fat than meat, which loses points, but the flavour and execution is otherwise good. So full are we, that TPG and I share (share!) the scrummy tart tatin with vanilla ice cream - a little sloppy, but by now, so are we. If you don't have the time or the budget to whisk your beloved off to Paris for the weekend, take him/her for a candlit meal at Le Boudin Blanc. It's rustic and informal, but with just the right amount of French finesse and champagne to make you feel like you're sitting in a bistro in the Marais watching the sun set over the corner patisserie. Expect to pay about £35-£40 per head for 3 courses, plus wine and service.

Michael H.

Yelp
Excellent restaurant. First off, my wife, who is not a fan of French food - aside from french fries and french toast, loved the restaurant. The atmosphere is as quaint as it is quiet, service attentive and food delicious. The steak is "to-die-for" and the chicken dishes are quiet good, too. Oddly enough, the only thing I wasn't too crazy about, was the french onion soup - go figure. In any event, this restaurant is definitely worth a visit.

Yelp
Last weekend we were in London to celebrate a brithday and had reserved a table in Maze by Gordon Ramsey. Finally, however, the weather was so lovely that we just really did not want to spend the evening in a cramped, up tight environment and decided to randomly find a restaurant with terrasse. And we found Le Boudin Blanc! Although we did get a short-notice reservation we had to wait for our table in the outside area in front of the restaurant. This did not bother at all, however, as it allowed us to discover the very charmig area and check out the other restaurants in the vicinity. Finally we were greeted and seated. The menu is rather small and concise including all the French classics like fois gras and snails. We chose to have a fish soup (very tasty, especially the mustard seved with it) and the special, a salmon tartar with melon soup (absolutely amazing) for starters. As main course we chose an Entrecote and a veal steak which were both lovely, especially my veal and including the sides. Sadly it took the sommelier quite a while to join us for recommendations, but his choice was perfect and fit very well in our budget! The fact that all the staff is French (and celebrate their French accent) jsut makes the whole experience even better!

Yelp
Excellent food, including a sublime wild mushroom risotto, but absolutely horrible service. Not just lazy and incompetent service (although it was that), but also crooked. For instance, the waitress took our bottle of water while it was nearly a third full. I thought she was simply taking it to make room on the table but she immediately returned with a new bottle. Needless to say we didn't need a second bottle, but I would have been more than happy to finish the first bottle (especially since we paid for the whole thing). They charged us £1.50 for each slice of bread in the basket. Before other Yelpers take me to task, I am well aware that in Europe one is charged for bread, even by the slice in many cases. But £1.50 per slice for a baguette? To add insult, the check at the neighboring table appeared to charge £1.50 per person for bread (and they ate their basket) so I can only surmise that they simply chose to "cheat the American". Finally, after I paid the check (and even left a relatively generous 15% Tip), the staff chose to begin sharing their impressions of "idiots who they wish they didn't have to serve" in French, presumably assuming that as an American I didn't speak any French. In any case I strongly recommend that any one with even a modicum of self respect give the staff their wish of having no customers, and avoid "Le Boudin Blanc".

Yelp
although our party of 3 could not get a table at st john's due to a private party, we were able to try out another concierge recommendation: le boudin blanc in lovely shepherd market. i completely agree that the food is outstanding and perfectly prepared. i enjoyed my WHOLE grilled sea bass with roasted fennel and a side of lemon wedge. yes, that is WHOLE as in the entire fish with head and bones. the fish was so fish and the meat was very flakey and it was more than enough for one person! i also sampled the sable with 2 layers of red berries and whipped cream in btwn shortbread. also our bottle of 2006 bordeaux for the table was divine! my only gripe was the service. the waitress seemed to rush us during our order and also seemed annoyed...

Yelp
Le Boudin Blanc is probably one of the most reliable addresses for French food in London. I go there for business lunches in Mayfair or family and friends lunches or dinners when we absolutely want to eat outside. They have a great terrasse in Shepperds Market, a pedestrian area with lots of charm and history. Prices have increased recently and it was more expensive than what I remembered when we went there recently but the food was really good and the service typically French (do not translate by rude just nice, smiling and attentive, I guess none of them must be from Paris). the menu offers lost of options in terms of meat, poultry and fish as well as many classic French starters, including mussels. With 1/2 a bottle of wine and 2 children we spent £110 plus service for lunch.

Yelp
I have been here many times and love the atmosphere of the place. It's cozy and comforting on a foggy British evening or afternoon. The food is quite good. The service is hit or miss, based on my experience. It is definitely worth a visit if you're in the area.

Yelp
Went there with a bunch of friends on a big catch up friday night, on the back of a recommendation of a French friend. very good food. Had the best beef tartare ever. Price is reasonable for a michelin star restaurant. Ideal also for date dinners too. It is also close to other cool bars so make it very easy to decide what to do / where to go after dinner will definitely go again

Yelp
This is a really charming and comfortable French Bistro that is professionally run and delivers authentic cuisine in a great atmosphere. I have been back twice now and on both occasions the real delight was the quality of the seafood. You expect great duck confit or liver parfait at a good French restaurant, but in addition to delivering these classics, the seafood dishes were also really well considered and a credit to the chef. Well worth a visit if you are in the area.

Yelp
Came here tonight in a group of seven. Great food - I had duck confit. Nice wines, attentive service. It's not an inexpensive meal but it is decent value for quality. Very nice ambiance. Pretty solid dining experience.

Yelp
The Duck Confit was excellent as well as the Oyster and Escargot. Will try the Steak Tartare on my next visit. A bit pricey.

Yelp
Its some time since I have dined here but I still remember the special atmosphere. The food is fantastic and french and we had a fabulous christmas party here a few years back so they cater for parties also. If you fancy a drink or table outside in the buzzing shepherds market that is also available.

Yelp
Was looking for a place to grab a late dinner after arriving on the day flight from NY. It was a choice between Le Boudin Blanc and the Lebanese joint across the street. After walking back and forth between the menus a few times, i decided that I should go for the French food, since reasonably priced French food is not so common in NY. It turned out to be a good choice. (Especially since the business dinner I had the following night with a group turned out to be at the Lebanese joint). I will start with the highlights and work my way back. The highlight was the Boudin Blanc. I figured, if the restaurant can make anything great, it had better be the dish it is named after. Turns out that Boudin Blanc is a fitting name. The Boudin Blanc was a delicious soft pillowy sausage that was deliciously paired with sauteed mushrooms and the best mashed potatoes I have ever had. I would go back, if only for the potatoes. The onion soup was very good. It was beefy and cheesy, everything you look for in french onion soup. Less fantastic were the escargot. The snails were very small and the oil mix could have used some more salt. Further, the bread that was served was not the best bread for sponging up the garlicky goodness that is escargot - although in view of the average taste, it was probably a good thing. A couple of Kronenborg's and dinner was definitely satisfying. Also, kudos to my waitress. I was planning to get the duck confit, but the waitress told me that it was not the best she has had, and that it tended to be dry.

Yelp
Very nice place for a business dinner. It's only a short walk from the Intercontinental hotel. Food was delicious. Service was pleasant. It's in a very old house which certainly adds to the ambiance. Prices are affordable. We each had an appetizer and entree for about £36.

Yelp
Very nice atmosphere. The food was great but not amazing. We had two appetizer--foie gras which was delicious but cheese with greens and apricot was pretty disappointing. Lamb and trout for entrees which were delicately prepared and cooked. Mandarin sorbet for dessert which was ok. The total bill came out be around 100 pounds.

Yelp
Had dinner here last week. Sat outside on a warm evening, watching the world go by. Classic french food, well-executed. Friendly service, appropriate attention. I had the french onion soup and the cod with pea puree. Terrific. I wanted the Tarte Tatin, because it's my all time favorite...but I really don't need the calories! Totally recommended. I'll be back, next time I'm in London.

Yelp
Small French restaurant in the adorable Shepards Market with friendly staff. Good service and good quality especially given the price points. Be ready to be close to the table next to you as are all of the restaurants in Shepards market. This was our second trip in as many trips to London.

Yelp
We go directly from the airport to here and go here on the way back on every trip. It's really good
