When it came time to visit Paris this past November, I went back to check for my favorite restaurants during my visit in 2012 and was glad to learn that this place is still around. Though the restaurant has changed owners since 2012, it remains my all-time favorite restaurant in Paris, and my companions agreed with me too. While the menu in Nov 2022 was limited, as disclosed by the restaurant due to the labor and supply chain constraints, the quality of our meals was top-notch. We enjoyed all the dishes that we ordered that night, with the veal and scallops being the most notable dishes. The service was warm and friendly too.

Small menu, where every dish was delicious! and very well thought through. A relaxed setting, good atmosphere and welcoming staff. Will return to this place on my next visit to Paris. A gem of a place, highly recommend.

We had an excellent dinner at this restaurant with outstanding food and service. This is my favorite dinner so far in Paris during this trip. The menu is limited at the moment but food is great and the restaurant offers specials daily. Great gastronomic experience.

I know it’s not a Michelin Star, it’s a « normal » Michelin. Those who follow me know that I only go to Michelin Stars, mainly because I simply do not have the time to go anywhere else with my challenges (follow me and check my other reviews to discover). So why here? Because I happen to know two of the owners of the restaurant and one day we had discussions about the sector, how hard it is, etc... So three weeks later, I went to have dinner there (I have been already but before my Challenges). Also I wanted to take the opportunity to make a case about having a gastronomic experience while in Paris, regardless of the star. Let me start by the end for a change: If you read this review, you should go there. Why? It would be a crime not to enjoy a gastronomic meal while a Paris. It would be like visiting Paris but not seing the Eiffel tower. Great food is more important in the French culture than the Eiffel Tower. Ask any French if they would rather loose their gastronomic heritage or the Eiffel Tower, and you’ll find yourself with a lot of metal to scrape! But there are a lot of restaurants and not all are « gastronomic ». There’s a lot that are here to cater tourists, some to just cater people in the district, some just to see/be seen (and be fashionable), some to eat fast, but you will not necessarily have a real gastronomic experience. So how do you make sure you really go in a restaurant worthwhile? My usual answer is : Go to a Michelin star. But I understand that you may have some constraints (price, time or more likely no reservations). In that case, I strongly suggest that you go for a « normal » Michelin. Take this one, which makes a strong case. The menu was designed by a MOF (the highest distinction in France for a Chef), and executed by a great young chef. Look at my pictures /videos and try the Ceviche for example, you’ll understand that you are in a place where the focus is on the plate first: you are in a gastronomic. And then, like a Michelin, you’ll also have the service that goes with (with a smile in this particular case). And, you’ll have a nice setting (in that case, the restaurant walls are used by a modern art gallery). It looks modern, the service is great but the real focus is on the food and you having a gastronomic experience. Bottom line if you’re reading this looking for a place to eat and yet enjoy the most important of the French heritage, Gastronomy : Go there. I think it’s valid for most of the restaurants listed in Michelin, because they usually do a great job. But the difference is that I’ve tried this one. Ps: I may continue to try non star Michelin because there’s something refreshing about them.

Although the menu has limited options, every option is prepared so well you will definitely want to go back.

Google
An intimate and relaxed restaurant offering a limited menu for good reason - every dish we ordered was a hit. We were greeted warmly, received great service and introduced to an excellent wine to enjoy with our meal. What more do you need? Go eat there!

Yelp
Little place off the main champs elysese rue. Excellent food, wine, and friendly staff. The scallop was delicate with a perfect balance of truffle and acid. The veal was perfectly cooked, and extremely tasty.

Yelp
This is our new "go to" place, Frencies, L'Ange 20 love you but you'll have to move over as there's a new "mayor" in town... Mayor as in Mayor of France or Meilleurs Ouvriers de France (shortened to MOF) is a unique and prestigious award in France according to category of trades in a contest among professionals. In this case the craftsman is the young chef Arnaud Nicolas and his MOF is for terrines that I have never experienced... foies gras, duck and pork, pork and chicken livers all expertly paired with sumptuous wines. The only way to describe this restaurant is passion.. passion for the food, its source, preparation and consumption. The rest of the menu is just as creative as the terrines.... save room for desert as they're light and delicious too... On top of great food, great service so reasonably priced - there should be a new category "best bang for the buck restaurant in Paris" Bravo!

Yelp
Le Boudoir is fancy a la 1990s. Think crimson & leather, extravagant sculptures, and low lighting. Not really my cup of tea, but my French in-laws selected it for dinner, raving that the chef was a pioneer of nouveau cuisine. So, pourquoi pas? It was one of the more expensive meals we had in Paris - about 70 euros per person, including wine. I must say, the staff were very accommodating as we debated on wines, and needed a special seating arrangement for one of our guests. We were admittedly high maintenance, and they dealt with it gracefully. The food was indeed photo worthy: daintily-prepared, inventive, and flavorful. This is a "food as art" kind of place, and you'll pay for the presentation. There's a lot of gourmet competition in Paris, so as long as you're prepared for lovely expensive food vs. hearty affordable grub, you'll be fine. I personally would save Le Boudoir for business dinners, or entertaining in-laws. It's a bit more stuffy than hip.

Yelp
My wife and I visited Le Boudoir on 23 October 2014 during a whirlwind week in the City of Light. I booked Le Boudoir after reading their TA reviews, and I'm definitely glad I did! From the moment you step into the small, cozy restaurant, the staff and Stéphane (the manager) make you feel at home and welcome. The restaurant isn't very big, so you'll likely end up overhearing your neighbors conversations; however, they more than make up for it in friendly service and impeccable food. They have a small menu, but we decided to let the artists in the back ply their trade and do the 5-course set menu. We also ended up letting them choose our wines (since we had no idea what the kitchen would send out). The first course was their famous "Poultry Pie" with foie gras. Even if you decide not to do the set menu, get this. It is an incredible dish. My wife's favorite plate from our week in Paris. The second and third courses were lobster and an interesting (and very tasty) perch "quiche". The silky texture and peppery flavor left me wanting another. The perch was followed by a piece of beef cheek that was tender enough to cut with my fork. All-in-all, I was lucky to find Le Boudoir amongst the gastronomic maze that is Paris, but I'm glad I did. I will certainly come back next time I'm in town. The set menu was €55 / person and we shelled out another €25 / person for three glasses of wine each. Fantastic value in a city where you're just a likely to drop that much money for a meal you don't enjoy. Do yourself a favor - come here, let the kitchen do what it does best, and enjoy their wonderful hospitality.

Yelp
Walked in by chance for lunch. Greeted warmly and seated immediately. Waiter/owner {Stefan) spoke very good English with a touch of kind humor. Took great care to understand allergies. Recommended meal was nothing short of spectacular, even by Paris standards. Everyone had a different dish and everyone loved it, from fish to duck. Trust Stefan and enjoy!!

Yelp
Dear Future Kat - I know you keep saying you don't need to come to Paris again ... but I believe you've said that the last 2-3 times you were here and well, here you are again. Well next time you come - skip the Louvre, go back to the D'Orsay and book yourself at least 3 nights of reservation here. This was your favorite restaurant in Paris. The owner and the service were wonderful. The wine exquisite. The meal - so fresh, so flavorful (and so irrelevant since the menu always changes). Remember - go down Champs Elysee, with the Arc behind you - make a left. It's the restaurant with the crowd outside. You are welcome, Past Kathleen

Yelp
Delicious dinner and excellent service. Very welcoming staff that was enthusiastic about the food and made the evening an absolutely lovely experience all around.

Yelp
Stefan is an amazing and simply fantastic host! We were warmly greeted upon arrival by Stefan. The atmosphere is understated but cozy and relaxing. He immediately welcomed us with a glass of Rose and continued to educate us about the winemaker and more. It was a welcome suprise! We had the tuna tartain and one of us had the lobdter while I had the other fish. Amazing flavors and presentation. To top it off, Stefan had amazing recommendations about wine and overall, well, I have a tiny crush on Stefan. A delightful host and owner. A must try in Paris, and I can't wait to come back!

Yelp
The big benefit for me is that Le Boudoir is close to our Parisian office. It seems a little uncertain where to pitch itself - the usual Paris challenge with so many decent cheap brasseries around and a smattering of fantastic restaurants - how upmarket do you aim? That said my foie gras was fine and the bar de ligne en pavé aux châtaignes et poitrine fumée was above decent. The chestnuts and smoky bacon cutting through the ubiquitous foam very effectively. The accompanying wine was good - but I didnt choose it and cant remember what it was! All in all a fine brasserie, a little more expensive than the average, but decent food and a buzzy atmosphere made up for this.

Yelp
Stefan makes this amazing dining experience highly enjoyable and very personal. His attention to detail with wine pairing is exceptional. This is an amazing place. I have been here twice and will definitely be back!

Yelp
Incredible French restaurant. All I can say is I wish I had walked in with more of an appetite. None the less, the host was very kind and attentive (to us Americans) and he suggested a white wine that paired beautifully with the selection of 4 cheeses we had chosen - all of which were phenomenal. I feel lucky to have stumbled upon such a find.

Yelp
We dined at Le Boudoir with 3 friends our last night in Paris. The recommended wine was delicious (we were offered a complimentary glass while perusing the menu). Our dinners were exquisite, paired nicely with our starters, and artfully presented. It was such a lovely experience and will be one of the many fond memories of our trip.

Yelp
I was visiting Le Boudoir on a business trip, alone. Regardless, Stefan welcomed me so warmly, providing me with great stories, good wine, simple, but excellent food in even in the end with a cuban cigar and Japanese whisky. It's as good as it gets! The best part was definitely having a glass of wine in front of you before even saying "hi" or getting the menu. I'm sure to recommend this warm and cosy place place for everyone visiting Paris. The price was more than ok.

Yelp
Had a wonderful dinner with a colleague last night. The food was excellent and service was wonderful. We loved the wine recommendations. This is a new favorite restaurant of mine.

Yelp
Touristy. Food is average. Service is spotty. SO MANY better options in this price range.

Yelp
Every bite is amazing. Order the black pudding/ truffles dish if it is on the menu. This is a great restaurant for a date night out or if you want a 5 star experience for a bargain price. Came here with friends, it was definitely a night to remember.

Yelp
Le Boudoir was recommended to us as a good wine bar by the concierge of our hotel who said he frequents the place as often as he can. We went there after an early light dinner to try the wines. We told the host Stefan what features we liked in our wine both white and red. We tasted four different wines along with little eats which were paired with the wine and he nailed it every time. We were impressed. We went back the next night to taste more wines and have dinner. It was a great experience, we tasted several more wines using half size the tastings of the previous night to get a wider range, then had a good starter plate and an excellent salmon dinner and dessert with more great wine selections. We highly recommend Le Boudoir and will return as soon as we can get back to Paris again.
