What a wonderful choice! Quiet and sophisticated atmosphere, delicious food, the friendliest and kindest staff (which is something to look out for when you do not speak Italian) and good food/wine recommendations. I didn’t ask the name of the sommelier but he was excepcional! So professional, nice and kind, and led us to choose great vino di Matera.

My boyfriend and I enjoyed an outstanding lunch in this beautiful restaurant in the historical heart of Matera. We were really impressed by the innovative food combinations on our platter. The food is clearly inspired by the authentic cuisine of Basilicata, but the chef gives his own twist at every dish. The risotto was the best I had during our trip in the south of Italy. So smooth and creamy! The service in this high end restaurant was outstanding too. A lovely experience overall.

We had an OK dinner here. The atmosphere and the service are excellent but the food was simply mediocre. Some dishes were OK some dishes were bad. Overall for the price you pay you can find for sure better places in Matera. I wonder how they made it to the Michelin guide. Additionally it is unacceptable that in a posh place like this you cannot tip through the card, not everybody has cash with them. Overall, I don’t recommend this place there are better places to go.

The restaurant is stylish, gorgeous atmosphere and fantastic service. The appetisers were nice. I ordered the egg dish and the saffron risotto but sadly I found the flavours in both dishes a little unpleasant. Overall I had a great evening at the restaurant.

THIS PLACE IS AMAZING!! Food is absolutely over the top! Every food they serve are beautiful and very tasty, wonderful service , most attentive and helpful, would love to come back here again. highly recommended!

Luckily this place was close to our accommodation so we stumbled across the restaurant liked the look and feel of the menu and booked lunch for the next day. We had a little dog with us, that they were very happy to accommodate. The service, food and choice of wines was wonderful. We had an unrushed, experience of the local food and wine, carefully and brilliantly presented. The server explained in both Italian and perfect English the significance of each dish. I don't like to give individual dish recommendations however can recommend the mackerel starter and both the pork and beef mains. (My wife and I swapped half way)

Great ambience, delicious food, attentive service (fluent English) and unique local wines in one of the most awesome city of Matera! Signature Matera bread and local olive oil were the best pre-meal deal ever and I am still drooling. I can’t wait to revisit Matera (and this restaurant) once again after the pandemic. Hope this restaurant survive this difficult time!

Food was very good, however we expected a “bit more”. The “extra mile” was missing. Service was ok, as young couple we didn’t really fit in apparently, and this we felt with every contact with the waiter.
