Le Carillon Gourmand

Very disappointing experience. Before coming, we called the restaurant specifically to ask if dogs were allowed, explaining in English that we were traveling with two dogs. We asked twice, and both times we were clearly told yes, and our reservation was confirmed. When we arrived, however, the staff looked us up and down and then informed us that only small dogs are allowed, and that our 25 kg dogs were not accepted. This condition was never mentioned on the phone. Because of this, we were forced to leave and try to find another restaurant at the last minute. Unfortunately, being a busy evening in Châlons-en-Champagne, everything else was already fully booked, which completely ruined our last evening in the city. If you have rules about dog size, that is completely fair — but they must be clearly communicated, especially when guests take the time to call in advance and ask in good faith. This was unprofessional and extremely frustrating.

We had a fantastic meal here. The service was first class. They gave us some small tasters in between all of our dishes which was a really nice gesture. We had the foie gras, followed by the hake, onglet of beef and finished with a cheese board and a soufflé. All dishes were delicious and good value for a top class restaurant. I would highly recommend the restaurant to anyone.

A very good restaurant with a very nice design. When you sit down there is a beautiful table well furnished. You already by the eyes see that the food will be good. I was extremely happy with a meal we had .

Very good lunch restaurant in Châlons-en-Champagne with good fish and meat dishes. Not vegetarian friendly. The turbot was excellent, also the tuna. Service is very friendly and accommodating.

On a tour of the champagne region with 14 others. We had a wonderful lunch with good wines. The food was excellent.

Found this restaurant on Michelin Guide, and were not disappointed by the food and service at all. Started From the reception, already impressed with the elegant usage of French by the leading waiter, and prompt and careful services from everyone, and the food are very good.

Lovely meal here. Great restaurant with excellent food. Particularly enjoyed the rabbit starter and the cheese board which contained some very interesting cheeses. Would definitely recommend.
