Fantastic breakfast. Definitely try the maple latte, very delicious. Insanely busy on Sat/Sun, but stopped here on a Tuesday morning and it was so quiet.

I will visit this place whenever I come to Montreal! For the first time, I had the same breakfast menu, designed and served so differently! Each dish was thoughtfully curated, served hot and cooked to perfection. And I rarely get talked into buying drinks, but Stephanie was the most engagingand enthusiastic hostess I met to date. We did reach $100 in our bill for two, including tip though, yet the experience was worth it. Just hope they fix the loose screws in all chairs. Feels risky.

Service was amazing!! Our service was the sweetest of the whole trip. The atmosphere was lively but not loud. It was modern yet cozy. The food was pretty good, just a little salty.

Incredible brunch with impeccable service made this one of the best meals I’ve had in Montreal! Had the Nordique which was amazing in both flavours and presentation. Everything was perfectly cooked and I was very satisfied with my choice along with the festive gingerbread latte that came with a cute little gingerbread dude!

Fortunately, it still tastes the same as I remember. The moment I took a bite, the unchanging deliciousness was a warm and reassuring presence in this unpredictable era.(May 2025) In the restaurant, the sense of touch, vision, taste, and smell are all labeled with elegance. There is both a sense of formal ritual and a psychological comfort zone. The food tastes great! The dish "canton" is great, with large pieces of meat filling the bottom of the pot, which is absolutely full. The duck Benedict is a little sweet because of the caramelized red onions. If you are not used to it, be mindful! Reservations are not available on weekends, you can only queue up. Arrive before 11 am and there will be a seat. Possibly queue up after that.(2024)

The Lac Brome (duck confit eggs benedict) was delicious. The duck and the orange hollandaise was the perfevt pairing. The yolks were perfectly runny. I also got the breakfast martini which had a nice cinnamon and maple flavour to it. Almost reminded me of an egg nog. The service was also super friendly and fast. Our server was always smiling. There are a lot of fancy places in Old Montreal. This one felt friendly and cozy, yet maintained its upscale nature.

I’ve been visiting Le Cartet for years, often choosing it for brunch or lunch due to its proximity to my office. It used to be a reliable spot with good food and coffee. However, my recent experiences have been disappointing. On my latest visit, I ordered a salmon bagel, expecting a satisfying meal. Instead, I received a dry bagel with four minuscule slices of salmon( about 20g ) and a smear of cream cheese. This underwhelming dish cost me $20 before tax. Adding two lemonades and a coffee brought my total to $58, excluding tax and tip. For such a price, the portion and quality were unacceptable. While the staff remains friendly and welcoming, providing service with a smile, it doesn’t compensate for the declining food quality and inflated prices. It’s disheartening to see a place that once offered value and quality now fall short on both fronts. In the past, dishes like Le Canton were enjoyable, but given the recent downturn, I’m hesitant to return. It’s unfortunate to witness such a decline in a place that once held promise.
