"Pascal Devalkeneer’s chalet is magnificently set on the edge of the Sonian Forest and the chalet’s terrace makes the most of this fantastic natural environment. The restaurant overlooking the chef’s cottage garden oozes with luxurious elegance to which you should add well-oiled, slick service and, above all, Chef Devalkeneer’s personal stamp on each dish. His blend of classicism and creativity reveals surgical precision, as well as a quest for subtlety and generosity. He scours the countryside of Belgium and France for the best ingredients from Aveyron lamb to abalone from the Brittany coast and honey from his own beehives, further enhancing these exceptional ingredients with intriguing side dishes. For example, green asparagus, morel mushrooms cooked in white wine and a frothy mousseline of fresh herbs exquisitely underscore foie gras, unveiling the chef’s talent. His deep-seated understanding of the role and impact of each ingredient enables him to create combinations that intelligently enrich and exalt the original flavour. This chalet is a temple of high-flying culinary art that never fails to surprise." - Michelin Inspector

We celebrated our anniversary at Le Chalet de la Forêt and had an unforgettable experience. The ambiance is magical, the food exquisite, and the wine and cheese selection outstanding. The staff were incredibly kind and professional everything you’d expect from a 2-star Michelin. Highly recommended!

Dining at Le Chalet de la Forêt was an unforgettable gastronomic journey. From the moment we arrived, the impeccable service and warm ambiance set the stage for an extraordinary meal. Each dish was a masterpiece, both in presentation and flavor. The tartlet with creamy filling and puffed grains offered a delightful start, followed by crispy discs nestled on a bed of pistachios—a playful yet refined bite. The delicately prepared eggs served on a nest of hay were as visually stunning as they were delicious. The seared protein wrapped in translucent onion layers and adorned with fresh herbs showcased the chef’s artistry and precision. The artisanal bread selection, served with rich butter and fresh honeycomb, highlighted the restaurant’s attention to detail, even in the simplest offerings. Dessert was equally captivating, with delicate pastry tubes filled with cream, garnished with citrus slices and edible petals—a perfect finale to an extraordinary meal.

A 2 star Michelin restaurant hidden in the middle of forests. Once you step into it you are immediately invited to the tranquility of woods. You can choose where to enjoy your aperitif: by the fire or on table. The dishes join both tradition and creativity: fresh ingredients, creative combinations. I especially enjoyed the lobster and lambs. The fat of the lamb is grilled to an extraordinary tasty and crunchy state which is strikingly delicious. For desserts the honey combined with grilled rosemary is quite creative yet brings out a nostalgia of happiness, and the raspberry tart is very tasty. The whole ambiance is minimalism with white as the main theme. The staff are friendly and attentive. It has been a quite romantic memory.

Exceptional from start to finish! We went for my partner's birthday and both had an incredible time. The courgette flower dish, the peach dessert with wafer-thin marzipan, the girolles, the pickles - everything was the best we have ever had. Such a clever and creative use of textures and flavours, excellently-paired wine from the super kind sommelier, and all-round great service. As a vegetarian, I particularly appreciated that the veggie dishes were just as excellent as the meat/fish ones, and the portions generous, which isn't always the case at places like this. Thank you for such a wonderful evening!

The best words go to the dessert. Stunning and well-served! Other dishes are not 100% amazing but worth try. The sommelier has good knowledge about wines and food.

My recent lunch at this two-star Michelin restaurant in Brussels was an absolute pleasure, and it’s safe to say I’ll be returning. Right from the start, the tranquil ambiance set the perfect backdrop, making the entire experience deeply relaxing. The staff was impeccable: efficient, welcoming, and attentive to every detail. Service of this calibre, I must say, is a rare gem. As for the cuisine, I ordered à la carte, beginning with homard breton, a beautifully prepared lobster dish that was simply flawless. For my main, I chose the filet de chevreuil (venison) — a superbly executed, tender cut, showcasing classic culinary expertise. The food leans towards the traditional, which I greatly appreciated; there were no molecular flourishes, foams, or bubbles here. Instead, it was an honest and exceptional presentation, rich in flavour and quality. One added touch that truly enhanced the experience was the voiturier service. Having my car meticulously taken care of on arrival was a stress-free bonus. All in all, this was a memorable lunch from start to finish. This was my first visit, but I already know it’s going to be one of my favourite Michelin-starred spots in Brussels.

Was on my list for a long time and finally, on my 50th Birthday with my favorite people in the world, I was able to experience. Was an exceptional meal and overall experience. Service was impeccable and they earn their stars.

The food was really nice but after my first drink they never come to offer me again even they see it

Yelp
Extremely disappointed. This is a 2-stars restaurant which for many years has been commented as being a potential 3-stars. The place is beautiful, high ceilings, lovely tables. But the meal was "technically" very nice and definitely 2-stars but the flavours, the seasoning, the overall aromas were poor to average. Everything except the main course was totally forgettable. Service was also ok but the sommelier was a trainee who didn't know much about wine or anything else. Most of the wine pairings were null or ridiculous. Very disappointed. Especially when the menu is 335€ per head, you deserve some kind of amazement. There was none.

Yelp
This place was delight. Came here with my wife in late May during our very first visit to Brussels and had a fabulous meal here. We took advantage of the outside seating and were delighted by the fire pit, as well as the relaxed, calm atmosphere outside. Make no mistake, the service outside was very attentive. My favorite dish was the caviar served in the transparent pod -- delicious and quite aesthetic with the optics. Of course, it helps when the Chef has a great first name.... ;-)

Yelp
WOW! I am so thankful that one of my colleagues nixed our planned dinner...and chose this for a meal for 15 of us. This, two star Michelin spot, was AMAZING. We did the four course menu, but folks, don't be fooled...The four course menu comes with a few starters before the first 'course', plenty of bread, and of course, cute little treats at the end! We started with 2 small starters of fried mussels in a cream sauce, croquettes and a small cracker with some sort of spread (yes, that sounds like a technical description...). These were all fabulous. We moved on to the foi gras..which was divine. The portion was massive and it was lovely - rich and delicious. The second course was cod - also delicious. Perfectly cooked and flaky. NOTE: At this point int he meal, I figured I should slow down as I was inhaling everything! Alas, I kept on going... The third course (entree) was pheasant with a pumpkin flavor. WOW. I don't even know how to describe it..not gamey, tender, flavorful...if it would have been acceptable to lick the plate, I would have. The dessert was a fig dessert with blackberry sauce...again, good enough to eat the entire thing....delicious, sweet without being too sweet and beautifully presented. After dessert, there were trays of sweets and jellies. All good...I may have taken a few caramels to enjoy the next day (I'm pretty sure this wasn't approved by my colleagues...as I took them out in our meeting the next day, I saw looks of jealousy...). All in all, a fabulous meal. We had great food, great wine and super service. One slightly weird comment was when I asked the server where the bathroom was and he told me (jokingly) that they didn't have one...just unexpected for this caliber of restaurant, but he did get a laugh out of me and the table. If you can visit Le Chalet de la Foret - do it! You will be very happy (and full)!~

Yelp
Meets expectations. Everything is wonderfully prepared, melt in your mouth, well harmonized and complimented flavours. The setting is quiet near the forest. Mind the dress code (very awkward if you're the only one not in a suit or dress shirt!). The staff are very attentive and nice. Highly recommend as a treat when in Belgium or visiting Drie Fonteinen.

Yelp
Beware of the reservation process, it is highly suspect and primitive! For a 2 Michelin star restaurant, they have failed in consideration of guest treatment! Drop the stars! After making a reservation for 2 and securing it with your bank card you will receive an email confirmation. Unfortunately the tone will threaten to charge your card $180E if you do not show up or make a change. After a $25E cab ride, you may be told the restaurant is 'complet' or essentially, "we did not have room for you after all". They will state they tried to contact you but were unsuccessful. Could I charge them $180E? Now another $25E back to Brussels, where we were immediately accommodated without a reservation at Sea Grill, where the attentiveness and food qualify reached a level of satisfaction you should experience. Be ware of Chalet de la Foret, you may go hungry and be offended.

Yelp
Oh my god, this was amazing. The food, the service, the presentation, every single little detail in the restaurant - perfection. Some of the best food I've had in Europe. In fact, it's not just the food, it's an entire experience. I'd give this place ten stars if I could.

Yelp
This place is amazing. Really, really awesome. It is fancy, so you will want to dress up. Service is formal and extremely good. The food is spectacular. It's a little out of the way from the center of Brussels (about a 20-30 minute cab ride), but it is in a beautiful location, and you won't mind the drive once you've enjoyed the food. It is pricey, but if you have the money to spend it is definitely worth it!

Yelp
Very good food, excellent presentation, wonderful and helpful service. See you again soon.
