How the World Is Paying Tribute to Anthony Bourdain | Eater

"A five‑star hotel in the medieval village of Kaysersberg near the German border where the subject was staying while filming Parts Unknown with chef Eric Ripert; staff say the two usually ate together, but after he skipped dinner one night and failed to appear for breakfast the next morning Ripert and hotel employees tried repeatedly to reach him before a receptionist went up to his room and discovered him dead. Local authorities reported no indication of third‑party involvement and prepared to release the body to the family." - Greg Morabito

Le Chambard (Kaysersberg, Grand Est) Verified Reviews | Tablet Hotels

"Le Chambard doesn’t play at being local. It is local. Run by Patricia and Olivier Nasti, the hotel blends Alsatian heritage with refined hospitality, from its timbered walls to its table settings. Rooms vary in layout and mood, but all share a sense of warmth: earthy tones, artisan touches, and windows that catch the changing light over the Vosges or the village below. At the heart of it all is a culinary duo: the rustic warmth of the Winstub and the precision of Olivier Nasti’s Michelin-starred dining room. Kaysersberg may be postcard-pretty, but Le Chambard turns it into something cinematic." - Tablet Hotels

Lovely stay at Le Chambre Hotel! The service is excellent — staff are friendly and attentive, and the hotel feels newly renovated with very comfortable rooms. The location is perfect for hiking, cycling, and exploring Alsace. A few small things to note: no toothbrush/toothpaste, and the shampoo is a basic 3-in-1. Breakfast is limited in variety and portion size, especially if you’re expecting a full English-style meal. Still, with the relaxing spa, great service, and thoughtful touches like free water and bread on departure, it’s a wonderful weekend getaway spot!

A nice hotel well located at the beginning of Kayserberg’s main street, which is a really beautiful historical street.|We had a Chambard room, with a balcony. We had asked for one with a terrace, however the assigned room had a very noisy aircon, so we got moved to another room with balcony. Room size is ok, pleasant that the toilet was separate from the bathroom.|Hotel staff extremely helpful and friendly. |Hotel has 2 restaurants, Winestube and the 2star table d’Oliver Nasti.|We had diner in the Winestube which was excellent, did not get to try the other due to circumstances.|The reason for not giving 5 stars is the breakfast: first of all the buffet selection is not really impressive, a few local specialties like the Kugelkopf, which was too dry, and some pate’s, other wise standard things you get everywhere. And secondly the staff, in very contrast to the hotel staff, the breakfast crew was uninterested, one was even rude, constantly forgetting things, like we had to ask 3 times to get some milk they had forgotten to bring with the coffee. The boiled egg took ages and even then was almost completely raw. Not what one would expect for € 45pp.|So nice place to stay and have diner, have breakfast somewhere else.

Very outstanding. Exceptional staff. Wonderful design and decorating. We stayed in Emma’s suite and had dinner by chef Olivier Nasti that was elegant, extravagant, gourmet and impressive. Definitely recommend. Great location in the perfect Alsace village. Picturesque at every step.

I didn't grade the room as we went only to the restaurant. It was a great experience with very good service and lots of attention from the staff. Even for our kids which was greatly appreciated. We've had the chance to have a "guided visit" of the kitchen... Very impressive. I highly recommend the place it's very nice!

This hotel is exceptional! The service from the moment we arrived was terrific. From the reception to the bellman. We loved everyone in both restaurants and both restaurants are great. It deserves 3 Michelin stars - it’s so good! Quentin in La Table and Hugo at Winstub. All of the staff were amazing. they are all very hard working and always friendly and helpful.

Le Chambard Hotel ||I recently spent three nights at Le Chambard and, while the property is visually charming and well-situated in the picturesque village of Kaysersberg, my overall experience fell short of the standards one expects from a Relais & Châteaux member.||The most significant issue was the excessive heat in the room, which made it very uncomfortable, especially overnight. Despite mentioning this concern, there was no real effort from the front desk staff to resolve or accommodate the situation. For a hotel in this category, I would have expected more proactive and thoughtful service.||The front desk team, in particular, lacked the warmth, attentiveness, and sense of hospitality that is typically the hallmark of Relais & Châteaux properties. At no point did I feel the staff went above and beyond—or even made a genuine effort—to ensure guest comfort.||While the restaurant experience (especially La Table d’Olivier Nasti) is exceptional, the hotel side of the operation feels disconnected and somewhat complacent. Le Chambard has potential, but it does not currently meet the level of service and care that seasoned travelers expect from this prestigious collection.

Very nice place to stay in Kaysersberg d'Alsace. We enjoyed dinner so much. Took a long walk for a photo from the hill above and also walked up to the castle ruin climbing 112 steps to the top. Good shopping along the street.

My wife has serious problems in her back and needs to swim 1 to 1 1/2 hour every day, early at 7.30-7.00. Previous time on our first time this was possible. Now it was impossible to swim before 8.00. My wife asked why. Answer: not possible because the restaurant needs to clean at 7.00. She then suggested to go earlier swimming before 6.00. Answer not possible because the there is nobody to open the door. In many good hotels we go to either the pool is open or they give her a key or they find another solution around the cleaning g and chemical dosing which has to happen, we understand. Not at the Chambard! I have never encountered such an inflexible customer unfriendly hotel which charges so much to stay. We will find another solution not at the chambard and not recommend you. Also this questionaire reminds me to write a review at trip advisor and Google review. You really should have find a solution
