"This is a pleasant spot to eat before crossing the Channel. It has an elegant decor, classic cuisine, seafood, and a fine wine list (cellar opens onto restaurant)." - Michelin Inspector

Le Channel is a must-see (& eat) place. If you don't speak fluent French it can be a bit intimidating. We ate in the Bistro & choices are up on the wall rather than being on a 'proper' menu, at least on a Monday lunchtime. Take a deep breath, hang back a moment & watch what locals are doing, then dive in. When the bloke behind the bar doesn't understand a word you're saying, although you're trying your hardest, you can always point! I write from experience. Loads of free parking opposite & it's an interesting place generally too, not just the food.

Fantastic place. Inspiring and relaxing. The restaurant is superb - we haven't tried the bistro - and so is the bookshop.

Good atmosphere laid back but amazing surroundings! Take it by the day food Recommended!

The place is okay. But what is the point? An empty yard, with an empty bookshop: no customers, no people, just a place people go by in cars as the streets around the area have always lots of traffic.
