Château des Alpilles (Saint Remy de Provence, French Riviera / Provence) Verified Reviews | Tablet Hotels

"Saint-Rémy-de-Provence is home to a number of châteaux, but only one, Château des Alpilles, that welcomes overnight guests. A picturesque sycamore-lined path leads from the main road to a small complex of historic buildings — a medieval farmhouse, a 19th-century manor house, a chapel, and a stone cottage — set in a park planted with centuries-old cypress trees. Extensive restorations transformed the place into a luxury hotel with 21 uniquely decorated rooms, two upscale restaurants, and an outdoor swimming pool." - Tablet Hotels

Chateau des Alpilles | Best places to stay in Provence |

"Located five minutes from Saint-Remy and 15 minutes from Les Baux-en-Provence, this beautiful 19th-century chateau is surrounded by a glorious 300-year-old park, with native and exotic trees. Once famous for hosting France’s best-known politicians, artists and writers, today the romantic rooms – furnished with an astute mix of period and contemporary design – offer an atmospheric refuge from a more genteel era. It’s an idyllic place to linger in and there’s plenty to do, with a beautiful heated pool, tennis and petanque courts, fitness and massage rooms, and electric bikes to hire; the exceptional restaurant is an added bonus. And Avignon, Arles and Aix are all within an hour’s drive. " - Dana Facaros

I can’t believe I only discovered this place now. We stopped here for just one night on our way back from Burgundy, but I instantly wished we had stayed longer. Everything—from the food to the atmosphere—was absolutely wonderful. The ambiance strikes a perfect balance between relaxed and refined, and the cuisine was a true highlight: thoughtful, flavorful, and beautifully presented. It felt like a hidden gem that deserves to be savored slowly. I would love to return and spend a few more days here next time.

We couldn’t recommend Le Château des Alpilles more! Our stay was perfect. While we loved exploring the charming town of St. Rémy, the beauty and tranquility of the château made it hard to leave the grounds. Every part of the grounds feels like something out of a dream, from the tree-lined entry to the elegant interiors in the castle.||||Make sure to make reservations for dinner - the food was exceptional, and the cheese plate was to die for. We also really enjoyed happy hour beneath the hundred year old plane trees—sipping cocktails there was a highlight of our trip.||||Le Chateau des Alpilles was a perfect blend of elegance, comfort, and authenticity. We can't wait to come back!

An Unforgettable Experience – Highly Recommended! This hotel, restaurant, and bar exceeded all expectations! The food was absolutely incredible, and the service was even better—warm, attentive, and genuinely friendly. The staff made us feel right at home, and everything from the cleanliness to the overall atmosphere was top-notch. If you’re visiting Rémy, staying here is a must. Truly a highlight of our trip to France! Ask for Kenny! He is the best!!!!

Do not visit Chateau Des Alpilles! It will make you want to quit your job and move to France!! This hotel is absolutely gorgeous. The rooms are spacious, the staff is wonderful, and the food. THE FOOD!!! The food is fantastic. The meal we had at the hotel was the best meal I had throughout our entire trip. Make sure to make a reservation, even if you’re a hotel guest. I looked forward to breakfast every day. The butter is next level. You think that the hotel can’t possibly be as beautiful as the photos show, but it IS! Also, the town of St. remy was my favorite “small” town we visited. Wonderful local shops, gelato, and just incredibly charming. Special shoutout to Vlad! He was the most helpful member of the staff. Incredible recommendations for food and activities. Whatever Vlad says to do, you do it! Overall this place was amazing and I highly recommend.

This hotel is sublime. The rooms are spacious and bright, the staff is friendly and efficient, the food is great, and the grounds are beautiful, the location is quiet but close to St. Remy. We've been here a couple of times and it never disappoints.

Absolutely! Here is a perfect review for your 20th wedding anniversary celebration at Château des Alpes: A Magical Celebration of Love at Château des Alpes: 20 Unforgettable Years We chose Château des Alpes to celebrate a significant milestone – our 20th wedding anniversary – and throughout our enchanting stay, every moment felt like a precious gift. Nestled in the breathtaking scenery of the French Alps, this château is not just a hotel; it's a place where romance and luxury intertwine in perfect harmony. From the moment we arrived, we were greeted with exceptional warmth and hospitality. The staff, who congratulated us on our anniversary, made us feel truly special and valued. The check-in process was smooth and pleasant, and great care was taken with the little details to ensure our comfort. The suite we were given was a haven of tranquility and intimacy. The elegant décor, with classic touches and a warm, enveloping ambiance, created a perfectly romantic atmosphere. The magnificent view of the snow-capped mountains from the windows added an extra touch of magic to the experience. The suite was equipped with everything we could have wished for, including an exceptionally comfortable bed, a cozy seating area, and a luxurious bathroom with a relaxing jacuzzi tub. The personal touch that awaited us in the room, a bottle of fine champagne and a heartfelt greeting card, was touching and greatly appreciated. The dinners at the château's restaurant were a celebration of flavors and senses. The talented chef created an exquisite gourmet menu, using fresh, local ingredients. Each dish was a culinary work of art, and the attentive yet discreet service enhanced the romantic atmosphere. We particularly enjoyed the intimate dinner that was arranged for us separately, with candles and soft music, which made our anniversary celebration truly unforgettable. The château's facilities added a touch of indulgence and relaxation to our stay. We strolled through the beautifully manicured gardens, enjoyed the heated pool with its stunning panoramic views, and indulged in a relaxing couples massage at the hotel's spa. Every corner of the château exuded elegance and serenity. But above all, what made our stay truly perfect was the warm and personal attention from the staff. Every request was met with a smile and efficiency, and we always felt that we were in caring and capable hands. The attention to the small details and the genuine desire to make our vacation perfect were evident in every interaction with the staff. Our 20th wedding anniversary celebration at Château des Alpes was an exceptional and moving experience. The magical setting, the impeccable service, and the romantic atmosphere created sweet memories that will last us for many years to come. We wholeheartedly recommend Château des Alpes to any couple seeking a romantic and unforgettable getaway. We are already looking forward to returning and celebrating more happy occasions there in the future.

Our favorite hotel experience ever. We spent 4 nights here for our honeymoon and had an exceptional time. Breakfast and dinner in front of the hotel are exceptional and the venue is stunning. The rooms are quiet and an absolute Provençal dream. The entire place feels like a fairytale. The staff as very welcoming and assisted with everything from running routes to birthday surprises. Can’t wait to go back!

We stayed for 4 nights in the main house / first floor. Arrival was seemless and welcoming : Juliette was a delight and very friendly and helpful. |The chateau itself is beautifully presented / rooms delightful & clean. |The pool area is superb with large spaces to spread out have privacy and a guaranteed lounger. All of this area is impeccable as you would expect. There is a bar & lunch (restaurant) area here too. |The space benefits from a very large garden / much bigger in reality which is a delight as often places use wider angle lenses to picture and then clients are just disappointed!|We eat here on the 4 nights outside in front of the chateau / tables are beautiful/ & well spaced out to give privacy / again such an important element. |Dinner was exquisite / we mixed it up over the 4 nights as the menu did not change. On one night we had the beef sharing for 2 / this was disappointing/ we found it tough / but we didn’t say anything as it was probably the cut. |We had breakfast and it was lovely / we had the ‘chateau menu’ which gave a good mix. Overall, our stay - was as it said on the tin / not cheap / but as expected which is great when on holidays that you get what you expect. You definitely need a car here as it is too far from St. Remy. Parking is very secure / all locked in. |One thing to note is that the chateau take outside bookings for lunch by the pool where lunch guests swim and hang out by the pool area. This area is not exclusive to staying paying guests. This area is also not secure or locked in / so be careful with young children. When we stayed, there was a mix of clients from families to couples.

Yelp
We ate there last night on a recommendation and a subsequent phone call from the staff at Bistrot Decouverte for our first anniversary. Enchanting old chateau building with period decor. Stunning grounds with a fairy tale entrance. The food was first class , delicious succulent flavors , and very beautifully presented. A special occasion destination . The owner came over to say hello to us and sent over two glasses of complimentary dessert wine for our anniversary.

Yelp
This is the nicest property I have ever had the pleasure of staying at. The staff is exceptional, warm and incredibly helpful. They even helped us with our TGV trip during the rail strike. I would go back in a heartbeat.
