Château du Bost

"A few minutes from Vichy, in peaceful grounds, this château with towers and a water-filled moat (15C-19C) offers a contemporary and cosy decor, complemented by a beautiful terrace and some comfortable guestrooms. The restaurant has a refined setting and serves tasty seasonal cuisine." - Michelin Inspector

It speaks for it self, see all the remarks on the questionnaires. The restaurant staff is very attentive and service minded. Especially the entree was very good.

Classy place, restaurant is excellent , and I think it's probably "Paris quality" for versatility, style/range of dishes, etc, and especially the cheese cart, wow. I really was a dining experience for me. If you can't make it far north enough for Paris by all means try the restaurant here, even if you're not staying here. Room and neighborhood very quiet, no road noise at all, lots of ducks in the moat, a real medieval setting more or less. Also very helpful with some clothes washing.

We went to the restaurant. The experience was unbelievably good for the price you pay. Etiquette is well maintained by servers but they are not at all denigrating, everyone would feel welcome. The food was out of this world. The tenderness of the meats, different flavours very well balanced and paired with fantastic wines and champagnes. We spent 90 euros per person for mise en bouche, entree, the main, cheese and desert. This was also with wines/champagne with almost every course.

I only stayed here with my family for 1 evening. The rooms were all very clean and comfortable. The staff are really friendly and helpful, and the food is amazing. I really recommend eating the breakfast and dinner at the Chateau! Lots of space for parking too. Great!

A charming hotel with convivial hosts. We opted for one of the standard rooms which was quite small (as we expected) but clean and well presented overlooking the moat. We took a walk down through the woods, followed by an excellent evening meal with friendly and efficient service.||||We would recommend taking a 10 minute drive down to walk along the banks of the Allier and enjoy the riverside parks.

This was the second time (last year, same month) that I have enjoyed the culinary delights of Chefs auvergnats, Stéphane Roesch and Xavier Robert. They have chosen fresh in-season products of the region and pair their dishes perfectly. We started off with a glass of champagne and a fruit juice cocktail along with two different “mises en bouche”: one being a creamy cheese with herbs canope and the other a very creamy chicken liver topped canope each, both on a grain bread. The cod ravioli with cream sauce was the first plate, and was outstanding. The second plate was roast beef, with a light brown sauce, carrots, baby green beans and wild mushrooms.||I had an option of cheese or dessert and chose the cheeses (4 different, with plum conserves on the side). My friend is well versed in wines of the region and chose a medium strenth red wine which went perfectly, especially with the beef and cheese dishes.||Go try this restaurant. You will be quite happy with this wonderful Auvergne cuisine!||Note: There all also 8 rooms to rent in this beautiful Chateau with a view to the park side. There are also two seminaires-réunions-events rooms that hold 40 to 140 persons.||I know I will be back again!||Forgot to take a photo of the ravioli stuffed with cid in cream sauce. They were so light and a delightful first plate. The rest are here for you to view. Enjoy!

We enjoyed our stay at this professionally run but friendly & comfortable modern chateau. Our room was quiet with a peaceful view over the moat & property behind the chateau. Efficiently designed room & bathroom, very comfortable bed, & everything was impeccably clean. We had dinner & breakfast in the restaurant, & enjoyed the intimate surroundings & personal service. The restaurant is outstanding with a delicious, creative menu. We look forward to returning & highly recommend the Chateau du Bost when traveling in the Vichy area or for a special occasion.

We had a very nice experience at the Chateau du Bost. The entire place was very well designed and of high quality. The estate was elegant and set in a peaceful setting. Such a pleasure and a delight to stay here. Our room was spacious and had all the amenities we needed. Bed was so comfortable. The breakfast was exceptional and service all round was excellent.
