The Best Montreal Microbreweries and Craft Beer Bars | Eater Montreal

"The most dive-y spot on the list, this comfortable, dark and retro-tinged brewpub serves a solid lineup of house beers from session IPAs to stouts to its namesake Belgian white. It’s also the craft brew venue that started it all in Montreal." - Eater Staff

The Best Dog-Friendly Bars and Patios in Montreal | Eater Montreal

"Tucked onto Ontario East, Le Cheval Blanc is Montreal’s oldest craft brewery, boasting an impressive handcrafted beer list (with very reasonable prices) as well as a cozy, front terrasse that welcomes smaller dogs. Take note: terrasse itself is pretty tight and larger dogs may not fit as easily, especially during busy times."

So much fun! We went to see a rockabilly show, atmosphere was nice and they have a bunch of different beers. Waiters were nice!

Loved this place. It was such a nice break. The live music was great without being too loud. The beer is good, and the service is amazing. I loved the art they had on the walls, and I'm still sad that all of the pieces had already sold.

Bar tender was cute. We came here with our 'Passport En Fut' ... Which I suggest looking into of you like microbreweries. The bartender wasn't very helpful with picking the beer tho... Just showed us the menu. Great atmosphere tho! Beautiful patio out front! I recommend this place. I enjoyed a pint of the blonde lager.

Had an amazing time visiting. This was a random stop visiting from Ottawa as our hotel was around the corner. My partner were impressed at how busy it was here. It says a lot about the place. It has an older crowd, but the most lively bar we stepped in. Not to mention great beer. Recommend for a nice night out with friends on a Saturday night.

NOTE: This is about long ago, when it was the FIRST micro-pub in Montreal! One long long room, low-key but perfect, slick steel and faux marble...Such good times and beer to die for (we were there nearly everyday for a few years until... we moved, snif!) My favorite bar EVER! Doesn't hurt to hear a bit of history; it wasn't just great until competition came; it was a though act to follow, and thrived! Just 3 selections of the week (some seasonal) but when they say less is more... WOW! (and probably the last place to have a throwback 25c peanut machine at the bar, cute touch! The staff were sociable, ALL artists (from different domains) and the music really great, not radio music: you went there to hear new, or older, always "on point" selections! Lots of students, chill older types: it had fun local art and music shows, always changing. Had all the cultural papers on site, exhibitions news, comic strips drawn by staff) so something to do while waiting on a friend or on your own (back before smartphones, lol) Can't speak of the food or terrasses, which didn't exist then. BUT anywhere THAT great, with THAT great people behind it, while becoming bigger, must have kept some original charm (and the best beer!) I have been in, but quickly since, and... I guess it's just as pleasant, but for another crowd, in different ways, with the new additions. My only sad comment would be that when a place gets large, it seems emptier when not prime time. But hey, the beer on tap is better than anything bottled -even their own-!. Just for that...Worth the try, at any rate! : )

This is a great microbrewery with a wonderful vibe. It is not a restaurant but a place to drink and enjoy conversation which is what you want in a microbrewery. and the hazy IPA was outstanding. Finally, the serving staff were a joy.

What an awesome brewery and neighborhood pub! A great, low-key place to relax and enjoy great beer. I got the Velourrrrs, which is easily one of the best IPAs I tried during my visit to Montréal and ranks among the best IPAs I’ve ever tried (top 7% out of 233 different IPAs). Merci à vous!
