We visited with a party of six. The restaurant was able to accommodate our dietary restrictions, which included one vegan and one halal. Communication about these restrictions was possible prior to the visit which was great. The owner walked everyone through their menu options and took lots of time to make sure everyone was happy. He also recommended an excellent wine that we ended up ordering a second bottle of. The food is good, but won’t compete with “real” fine dining experiences. Fairly traditional, with everything being executed at around a 7 or 8 out of 10. All of this is great for the price. Our only complaint were the wait times: we spent close to four hours here, and there was a bit too much time between courses for some of our party members. The restaurant was packed, and staff looked stressed. Ambiance was great. We sat outside. The beef dish is served with a katana which I thought was a bit quirky and unnecessary but I won’t judge!

Le Clos Saint Font is definitely worth the trip to Périgueux. I selected the 48€ menu that includes an entrée, plat et dessert. Great value! For entrée, I had the Foie Gras trio, which was very interesting. For plat, I had the t-bone avec truffe and I kept on thanking the world for being alive to eat this meal. Truly a magical meat experience. To wrap up the evening, I selected the passion chocolate for dessert and it was a melange of different chocolate desserts. Très délicieux! The table next to mine ordered the boeuf that was cut with a katana. Was a fun show! Would definitely recommend.

We had a big party that ate here and Patrick Feuga was polite and accommodating. The food amazing and I will never forget my dinning experience. Going to his restaurant is worth the travel.

Excellent food! Beautiful garden! The owners (Patrick and huis wife) are very very friendly! Came back twice this year, just like last year! If you’re around, go! You won’t regret it!

I think it's important to understand why you're visiting this type of restaurant before booking. You'll be granted small quantities of food but the quality is exceptional. It's very much a gastronomical experience. The service matches the food in terms of overall care, politness, explanations and welcoming. We were treated very well overall. Not that we ever expected it but we were able to not only communicate with the waiters in french but also via their fantastic level of English. The outdoor setting was sublime, lovely private ish section of a small square surrounded by trees, nice lighting and the subtle sound of various other restaurants and bars in the distance. It's the perfect balance. The only small thing which wasn't appreciated was how they offered their cognac to us at the end and mentioned how long it had been developing inside the carafe despite not mentioning that it was in fact not only a free departing gift but actually 15 euros for about 20ml. You'd feel rude saying no after their passionate pitch but without a mention of price..you would naturally assume it to be free considering it's not a cheap place to dine. Other than that small detail, a fully enjoyable experience, would absolutely recommend to people of all ages.

Nice setting, quiet atmosphere, nice food, good overall, nothing amazing though. Very friendly and spoke English. As the menu per head is quite expensive, we expected the shot of cognac to be on the house but wasn’t when we got the bill and were charged 15€ for the small shot. A bit misleading.

The heavens opened but it did not spoil our visit to Le Clos Saint Front too much. The food and wine are are delicious as the setting is beautiful.

Yelp
Le Clos Saint Front did not come up with many reviews, and not on Yelp. The only reason we stopped there was that it was opened on a Sunday. And the rest was just magical. Chef Patrick Fuega is working the room to greet the customers and taking care of the more delicate or theatrical dishes (we had Brazilian beef cut with a sword in front of us, all with the reason why but you'll have to find out for yourself!). The menu is changing every 45 days but I had the "garden vegetables my way" and it summarizes perfectly the state of mind of the chef: deeply rooted in humble and countryside origins, the Chef lets you know from the start that he knows better how his food must be prepared. Which would be arrogant if the meal did not deliver, but it does. Another subtle hint in the cuisine is the time spent by the Chef in Asia, which infuses the recipes with exotic touches, always at the service of the main dish and not just as a cover up of lacklustre cuisine. They also have a magnificent terrace but we went there on a rainy Sunday. Nonetheless, the warm welcome and friendly post-lunch discussion with the Chef, on top of a perfect experience, will definitely lead to drive the 2+ hours to try it again in the summer sun. A must if you are in the area.

Yelp
Traveling in the Dordogne, we were looking for a decent spot for dinner in Perigueux. Holy wow! I can't begin to tell you how well these guys delivered. After eating all over San Francisco, we are rather spoiled, and yet here was a menu with not one but numerous departures from the 'norm' - and I can honestly say that everything we tried was amazing! We ate on the terrace which was a classically old French space with plants and old rock walls lending their support to a timeless experience. Service? Not sure how to beat this. The waiter graciously walked us through the menu in French and very good English, he went out of his way to interview our children and create custom dinner choices followed by unique dessert plates with each child's name written beautifully on each! What a great experience!! Don't pass this up!!
