Le Cocktail is emerging after decades of monopoly by Mado's. Don't get me wrong, I have been a Mado devotee for a looong time, but it's good to have some innovation, especially as Mado herself seems to want to branch out of drag.
Le Cocktail is small but glamorous, with a massive chandelier hanging down its high ceiling and a lot of fuschia lighting. If you want to check out the show, the seats are very nearly on the stage - tip your performer! But I know you are here from Drag Race HoNEEyY!! Arrive early, because seats are a hot commodity. Couldn't make it? Head on up to the top floor and stand up around the bar. The staff was lovely, the drinks were a fair price, but a tad light or small...maybe? There are a lot of screens to follow to action to, and they are all subtitled - reading is fundamental, because the place is LOUD. I couldn't make out the emceeing going on during the ads, but as soon as the credits roll, one of Montreal's finest is putting on a show!
If you know your local queens, Le Cocktail is where you will find Miss Butterfly nearly every day, and it seem local legend Michel Dorion calls it her home base as well. Go check out the local talent!
