I had a really great time at Le Comptoir when I dined there on 30 December 2025. Chef Ben checked in with me a few times during the meal, which felt very genuine and made the experience more personal.
I went for the 8-course tasting menu, and from the second dish onwards the food just kept getting better — rich, comforting, and full of flavour. I also really appreciated how each dish was meticulously described by the team, which added a lot to the experience without feeling overdone.
Service throughout was warm and attentive, and the complimentary pre- and post-meal snacks were a lovely touch that made the whole meal feel thoughtful from start to finish.
They were kind to let me be seated earlier than my reservation, and both the head chef and sous chef agreed to sign the small menu for me as a keepsake. The sous chef looked genuinely surprised that I asked for his signature, which made the moment unexpectedly funny and memorable.
Overall, great food, sincere service, and a place I’d happily return to.
