Pavillon Le Corbusier

Pavillon Le Corbusier, located on the shores of Lake Zurich, is the final architectural project designed by Swiss-French architect Le Corbusier. Commissioned by gallery owner Heidi Weber as a gallery and exhibition space to showcase Le Corbusier’s work and ideas, the pavilion was completed in 1967, two years after the architect's death. The structure exemplifies his vision of a "Gesamtkunstwerk"—a total work of art—merging architecture, art, and design into a cohesive whole. The interior features custom furniture, sculptural elements, and a color-coded system that distinguishes different functional areas, embodying his concept of "architecture as a living art." LC4 Chaise Longue is a reclining lounge chair designed by Le Corbusier, Pierre Jeanneret, and Charlotte Perriand in 1928. It is often called the “relaxing machine” because of its ergonomic, adjustable design that allows the user to recline at different angles.

The Pavillon Le Corbusier is a completely different experience, intimate in scale but monumental in significance. I didn’t go inside of the building but it is quite strange and ugly. May be it is considered as art building but in my opinion it is look like gas station. Around the building, there are very nice historical buildings, green areas, but this building has no relation with its surroundings. Some comments say it is made of glass and steel but it is not correct. Huge concrete part is standing there as very ugly appearance.

Awesome modern structural house amongst older traditional grand houses. Set on the river. The building itself is ground breaking and yet simple in design. The open-roof-garden is incredible. All design-minded appreciators must visit.

If you’re interested in architecture, this is a must see. For those without a more detailed background in architecture, you’ll enjoy walking the house, but there’s less info on him, why he was important, and his influence than I was expecting. More context would help. It is, however, located in a lovely neighborhood with a lakefront park. You can hop a boat down to visit the entire area, which is very enjoyable.

Le Corbusier’s last building and it’s a masterpiece. The art exhibitions they had in it I found a bit lacking in quality and kind of distracted from the architecture itself but it was fine. The architecture is just amazing.

Marvelous museum of the last building designed by famous architect Corbusier. This building was made of steel and glass. Very interesting exhibition of.. the house itself and unique architectural promenade through its various floors and roof.

This is an actual building by the man himself. But if you want to find out about him and his works, this is not the place. Sure, there's some modern art by him, photos of some of his buildings, some furniture designed by him & even some design & colouring activities but there's not much info about the buildings & almost none on him. There're some books but the role of a museum is different from that of a library.
