Le Cornichon - Review - 11th Arr. - Paris - The Infatuation

"Nostalgia is the mot d’ordre for a lot of Paris’ trendiest new cafés, like le Cornichon. But this place is the only one where you can play pinball or color on the paper tablecloth while waiting for a leek-vinaigrette that's pretty enough for a spot at the Louvre. The no-choice semainier is the move at lunch: a three-course prix fixe featuring a different childhood fave each day of the week. Veal blanquette is fork tender, covered with a sauce so creamy that it transforms the accompanying rice into a risotto doppelgänger, and the apple crumble crowned with raw cream will make you want to lick the bowl clean. In the evening, Le Cornichon evolves into a no-reservations drinks-driven bar with creative small plates and massive platters of crispy frites." - Emily Monaco

Fun vibey scene. Lots of young locals. People were there mosty for the wine, cigarettes and good conversation. We, on the otherhand, came starving and ordered more plates than could fit on the table. The food was solid - did the job of absorbing our wine as we drank the evening away :)

Absolutely a new favorite (new to me, not new to the world!). I had their lunch special and ate every morsel with pleasure and plenty of thins to mop my bread into for some freakishly clean plates. Will be back!

A neighborhood café and restaurant where people like to gather drink, chitchat, and eat. Cornichon offers a la carte and a daily menu. We loved what we had on that Monday! My husband who normally doesn't like meatballs, loved them. I highly recommend Cornichon!

A really nice parisian bistro with a vibrant and busy vibe, clearly liked by a lot of people as it was packed all evening. We sat by the terrace and ordered some cured ham and egg with tartare sauce (fun surprise to get a whole boiled egg with the shell on) and then their côte de bœuf with fries and a really tasty bearnaise on the side to share. Big portion for two people. Staff had a lot to do but still managed to take their time with every table and deliver service. Also had a glass of red beaujolais that was out of this world !! Big recommend !

This place is really fun and the best thing is definitely the drinks and the atmosphere. You can get frozen cocktails which look fun and taste good. The food is also good. It’s best to reserve in advance as the place is popular!

Really lively chatty spot with some good food. Super friendly staff and dog friendly which is always lovely! Steak was a little on the expensive side (39 per person) but otherwise a great spot. 🙂

Fabulous entrée which was called macédoine, a pun on the dreaded cubed, over-cooked veggies swimming in industrial mayonnaise. Here we had raw, tiny-cubed bright-green veggies topped with a delicious homemade mayonnaise. Brilliant. The lemony curried chicken, was in top form as was the chocolate cake and custard. Their recommended white Cote de Rhone was perfect. What more can I say. Ah, smiley service.

We had a perfect evening there. It’s a cool crowd, very vivid and busy. The food was just great for a reasonable price. I can’t tell if the meat or the fish was better.
