My husband LOVES to cook so everywhere we go, he's looking at the cookware and cookbooks.
I however, hate to go in this store with him. There's an employee that moves immediately to the door, almost like they're gate keeping.
It reminds me of going to a car dealership and the salesmen are repeatedly walking up to you when you've only barely been on the lot. You politely say, "we're just browsing". And they still linger. Or like at Mathis.
Anyways, same feeling here. It's very off-putting, uncomfortable, and makes me not want to stay in the store or spend money there.
Think of it like going to a restaurant. You wouldn't go out to eat at an expensive restaurant if the hostess and server stood next to you the entire time you're there.
We are out shopping with family and looking for gifts or personal purchase and we might like the privacy to discuss with our partners what we want to buy or the pricing.
We usually have our small children with us so maybe the employee there is staying close to make sure small children don't break anything? Not sure. But if that's the case that they hover over people with children for their entire shopping experience in the store, maybe you shouldn't have a business. Or put a sign that says no children allowed. Or another suggestion is to read the situation. If the parents are being vigilent and not allowing the children to touch or run rampant, understand the parent is doing their job and allow them the space to shop.
I'm not sure what the issue is, I'd like to shop and buy things there but not when I can't even have the privacy of a discussion with my spouse.
It would be rude if I were to walk in and see them walking up and immediately say "oh hell no I'm not spending my money here". It's also rude and bad customer service to make your customers so incredibly uncomfortable they they don't want to come in again or buy anything.
1 star for the vulture hovering. It's really gross to do that to customers.
5 stars for the quality (things do look like great quality.) I'd like to make a purchase online if I can find something in the store I like. The hovering starts immediately so I'm immediately not even wanting to look anymore.
That brings me to 2 stars overall because I dont even get to assess anything else about it.
