"The restaurant is part of Le Baron Tavernier, the chic little spa hotel opposite, and boasts a magnificent location with panoramic views. In addition to a fabulous vista over Lake Geneva, this place promises ambitious and tasteful French cuisine, prepared with top-notch produce, as well as friendly and attentive service. In summer, the open-air bar is the perfect spot for a drink." - Michelin Inspector

Beautiful spot with an absolutely stunning view over Lake Geneva and the vineyards of Lavaux. That alone makes it worth the visit. Service is friendly and efficient, and the food is good with great presentation. You mostly come here for the view, but everything else holds up nicely too. Parking might be an issue so make sure you prepare in advance your visit. The Lavaux vineyards are part of the UNESCO World Heritage sites and rightfully so. I'd suggest you enjoy a glass of local Chasselas to make your experience authentic. Santé!

I planned a mid-morning bike ride to a noon lunch at Le Deck. I requested a table outside and they were able to make that happen. Every aspect of the experience was fantastic. My server, Marion, was fun, attentive and patient with my limited French. I went with the 5 course lunch. Three of the courses were exceptional - the smoked tuna and octopus, the lamb and zucchini and the olive oil roasted apricot dessert. I will definitely be back.

We came for drinks and enjoyed some finger food—calamari, hummus, and French fries—all very tasty. But the real highlight is the absolutely stunning view of the lake and mountains. A perfect spot to relax and take it all in!

I had an early lunch on the terrace of this upscale French restaurant a beautiful Wednesday in mid June of 2025. You have a rather limited choice of perfectly executed dishes including vegetarian options. There are some discrete attentions to details, like napkins with a buttonhole allowing you to protect your expensive Hermès tie if you would ever wear one these days. The wines by the glass are well chosen and include some unusual proposals like a Traminer from Javet & Javet on Mont Vully north of Lake Murten that also houses farms producing the black rice that was served with my char. A beurre blanc including trout and lump fish roe accompanied the fish. Our pleasant waiter tried to convince me I had herring roe but you don't try that trick with someone who has eaten fermented and fresh herring roe for many decades... Overall, a very pleasant meal with prices for food and wine on the high side. This is at least partly compensated by the magnificent view over the lake, probably the best you will find in any of the many restaurants on the northern shores of Lake Geneva.

I have travelled the world extensively over 40 years. I ate at all restaurants ranging from pop & mom’s to Michelin three stars. This is my honest review of the restaurant Le Deck at Hotel Baron Tavernier in Chexbres, Switzerland. A wonderful culinary experience in an exceptional setting! This restaurant, perched above the vineyards with breathtaking views of Lake Geneva and the French Alps, offers both refined cuisine and impeccable service. The staff was warm, attentive, and highly professional, making the experience even more enjoyable. Our meal began with beautifully fresh crab meat, delicately seasoned with citrus and light spices, highlighting an elegant play on textures. The fried quail that followed was outstanding, featuring a rich, well-balanced sauce that complemented the dish perfectly, accompanied by thoughtfully prepared sides. We also opted for the perch fillets from the lake. While the flavor was excellent, I found them slightly over-fried, and a simpler preparation might have better showcased their natural taste. That said, the dish was still enjoyable, especially with the deliciously grilled baby potatoes served alongside. Overall, a fantastic dining experience with stunning views and sophisticated flavors. A place well worth visiting for both the food and the ambiance!

Restaurant is inside, it doesn’t give refreshing atmosphere, bar is better. Food is ok. Portions are very small. Staff is smiley and nice. Prices are weirdly high. View is very good. I suggest visiting to have a drink and finger foods in the bar, and enjoy the atmosphere. *~*~* Thank you for your comments 🙏

Amazing food and service with the best view you could imagine. Perch fish was excellent - best I had in the area. Cheese plate also good. Desserts fantastic. Wine pairings were ok. Service was wonderful. Would definitely come back!!
