Relais Le due Matote (Bossolasco, Piedmont) Verified Reviews | Tablet Hotels

"Set on an agricultural estate at the edge of the Langhe village of Bossolasco, Relais Le Due Matote is, like so many of Piedmont’s small luxury hotels, as much a culinary experience as it is an overnight lodging. Not to say its suites, with their unique blend of antique charm and contemporary stylishness, couldn’t perfectly well stand on their own. But it’s only when you consider them together with the fine-dining L’Orangerie restaurant and Il Giardino, the more casual pizzeria, that the picture comes entirely into focus. They call the Imperial Suite “the queen of the Relais,” and it’s certainly the most ornate; the others, however, aren’t far behind — even the smallest junior suite spans some 45 square meters. In the vault you’ll find a wellness area and an indoor therapeutic pool, complemented by the outdoor swimming pool, with its view of the gardens and grounds." - Tablet Hotels

We stayed at Le Due Matote - a 17th-century farmhouse beautifully transformed into a hotel just three years ago. The owner has truly poured her heart into this place. Every detail of the interior has been chosen with love.|All the furniture is antique. We even slept in a bed where Napoleon himself once slept.||Each room is thoughtfully equipped with a Dyson hairdryer and a Harman Kardon speaker, adding an extra touch of comfort and luxury.||The hotel staff treated us like family. I want to give special thanks to Roberto and Elisa for making our stay absolutely perfect. This was the best holiday we’ve ever had.||The hotel has an incredibly beautiful spa, and the spa therapist, Analisa, is simply wonderful.||The gourmet restaurant truly deserves a Michelin star, I hope you receive it soon. Chef Luca is a star himself. His sense of flavor and balance is unmatched. Sabrina and Salvatore are also outstanding professionals.||The hotel grounds include a chicken coop and gardens where flowers and vegetables are grown and later used in the kitchen. It’s paradise. The view of the mountains and the fresh air — you just want to breathe it all in and never stop.||A special thank you to the sommelier Antonio, who selected the perfect wines for us and as gifts for our friends.||I wish your hotel prosperity and success! You deserve every possible award.

From the moment we arrived at Hotel in Piedmont, we knew we had made the perfect choice for our getaway. The staff welcomed us with such warmth and genuine kindness, making us feel right at home( Carlo,Elisa and Roberto were great). The hotel is set in one of the most picturesque locations I’ve ever seen—surrounded by lush vineyards and rolling hills, with panoramic views of the stunning Piedmont landscape. It honestly felt like a dream. Our room (lady Emma)was everything we hoped for and more. It was spacious, cozy, and beautifully designed, with little touches that made it feel like a we are in a good dream. The bed was incredibly comfortable, The bathroom was luxurious, with high-quality toiletries that added an extra layer of comfort to our stay. One of the highlights of our time at the hotel was the food. The restaurant served the most delicious, authentic dishes we’ve ever tasted, deserve a Michelin stars. The staff went out of their way to make our experience unforgettable. They were always ready to offer recommendations—whether it was a hidden gem of a vineyard or a scenic walking trail—and they made us feel like we were part of the local community. We also spent a few hours at the spa, which was the perfect way to relax and recharge. If you’re looking for a peaceful retreat where you can truly unwind and experience the beauty of Piedmont, I can’t recommend enough. It wasn’t just a hotel stay; it was an experience that we will cheris

Relais le Due Matote is such a hidden gem, and I feel so lucky to have discovered it. From the moment we arrived, we were absolutely taken by the beauty of this place. The location is out of this world—stunning views all around, with snow-covered Alps stretching into the distance, and on a clear day, you can see all the way to Mont Blanc. The fact that we were there out of season made it even more special. For two whole nights, we had the entire property to ourselves, which felt incredibly peaceful and intimate, but the staff was always around, making sure we were taken care of like royalty.||||The hotel itself is an absolute masterpiece. It’s impeccably well-maintained, spotless, and yet filled with so much character. There’s this beautiful mix of eclectic details and gorgeous antiques that never feels crowded or overwhelming—everything is perfectly curated. The entire vibe is cozy yet luxurious, and it made us feel completely at ease.||||One of the most memorable experiences was the special dinner the kitchen team prepared for us at the chef’s table. Watching Chef Salvatore and his talented sous chefs create absolute magic right in front of us was something I’ll never forget. Let me tell you—this team is aiming for a Michelin star, and I believe they deserve several! The food was exceptional, and each dish felt like an artwork. We especially loved Chef Salvatore’s take on pizza fritta with Vitello tonnato—it was a playful twist on classic Italian flavors, and the balance of textures and tastes was just perfect. Salvatore, the maitre d’, made us feel so incredibly welcome, checking in on us throughout the evening and ensuring we had everything we needed. The personal touches were really appreciated, and it made the whole experience feel so intimate.||||The last night, the team set up a beautiful aperitif for us on the sunny terrace, and it truly felt like a magical moment—sipping cocktails as the sun set over the hills, with that gorgeous view in front of us. It’s those little moments that make you feel like you’ve found something really special.||||Another unforgettable experience was when Chef Salvatore took us on a Fiat drive through the rolling hills of Langhe—honestly, a once-in-a-lifetime experience. It was such a unique way to explore the area, and it really made us fall even more in love with this region.||||The rooms at Relais le Due Matote are newly renovated and ultra-luxurious. Every little detail was thought of, from the beautifully soft linens to the cozy, elegant décor. I was also thrilled to find out that the tea served at the hotel is from Fortnum & Mason—someone here knows good tea!||||The reception staff, especially Elia, were also wonderful—so sweet and welcoming. We brought our small poodle with us, and I have to say, she was treated like royalty too! It’s always a bonus when a hotel makes your furry friend feel just as special.||||And the private spa in the wine cellar—wow. It’s so beautifully done, and such a unique touch. We spent some time relaxing there, surrounded by the calming atmosphere of the wine cellar, and it was such a peaceful experience.||||Overall, Relais le Due Matote is a must-visit hotel that’s truly a destination in itself. The little village it’s located in is also incredibly charming, with roses blooming everywhere in June. We already can’t wait to return. It’s one of those places that stays with you long after you leave.

We have been to many fine places in Piemonte. Relais Le Due Matote is by far one of the best. Excellent food, beautiful room and an interior design that was 100%complete, modern and classic at the same time. We look forward to visit this place again.

An unforgettable stay at La Due Matote in Piedmont! We stayed in the “Botticelli” suite — beautifully designed in a stunning historic building. The service was warm and personal, with a truly kind and professional staff. The dining was a culinary delight, with an excellent restaurant, perfect pizzeria, and a wonderful sommelier, Antonio, who introduced us to amazing local wines. A must-visit for wine, food, and design lovers.
