The Best Montreal Cafés for Working or Studying | Eater Montreal

"In the heart of the Mile End’s office district, this café in a sunny warehouse does fair-trade coffee, pastries, soups, sandwiches, and Japanese dishes like its highly snackable onigiri (rice balls wrapped in nori). Long communal tables, as well as couches in the back, offer ample place to post up depending on your task." - JP Karwacki

The Best Montreal Bars and Cafés With Air-Conditioning | Eater Montreal

"Another cafe where the air con is always doing its job (and then some). Escape the heat and enjoy siphon coffee, pastries and Japanese-inspired dishes (the onigiri is especially delicious) in a converted warehouse space that’s magically bright, yet not aggressively sunny." - Holly Tousignant

Following the positive reviews online, I ordered the onigiris, and they were disappointing. They were almost entirely rice, which is fine in some cases. However, they were overcooked and tasted extremely under-seasoned.

This is a very different type of high end coffee shop, and the uniqueness of it makes it very appealing. It has a Japanese feel to it, the onigiri lunch options and miso soup are excellent, and the siphon style coffee is also top notch; its also something I've never seen elsewhere in Montreal. New owners have taken over, and the quality seems to have been maintained. Overall a great place to sit, eat and have coffee.

I tried Le Falco recently. It’s a nice café with great potential, but there’s room for improvement. First, the positive: all my stars go to the atmosphere. It’s a great spot to work or have lunch. There are plenty of seats and outlets, and it’s easy to focus. Now for the negatives. The barista at the cash could have been much friendlier and more helpful. When we arrived, the place was empty. The counter is set up at a 90-degree angle, with one side for food and the other for the cash register. Since there was no lineup, we went straight to the cash and completely missed the food display. The cashier didn’t mention any food options, and I only noticed them when I walked toward the washroom. There were a few pastries near the register, so my friend asked about one. The barista just pointed and said, “It’s that,” without explaining anything. It came off as rude. We were also excited to try the siphon coffee. She just poured us pre-brewed siphon coffee, which took away from the experience. I didn’t like the taste either. They do have other options. We stayed a couple of hours and enjoyed working on our laptops. It’s a great space, but the customer service definitely needs improvement.

my most favorite cafe in Montreal ☕️ I love the architectural space alone, it’s perfect for meeting friends or studying. I always get their soups and bowl or onigiri combo, all the flavors are so comforting and delicious. I tried a chai latte the first time but I don’t really recommend it, my go-to is their specialty syphon coffee !

A near perfect cafe: great coffee (the cortado was amazing), bright and spacious, good and unique food options, places to work and also to relax—reading in a hammock anyone? Highly recommend if you’re in the area!

Went there because it was on my list from @l'epicerie. It is a great TV show you should watch and it did not disappoint. The young lady who does the onigiri was featured, and I had a chance to meet her. My food was wonderful, and the ginger latte will definitely give you a boost!

Love this place, with its spacious and vintage feel, along with Japanese lunch (this was the first place to get onigiri and siphon coffee in Montreal). I would love to return at an earlier time to be able to try their other dishes before they sell out.
