Le Florimond

"Florimond – named after Monet's gardener at Giverny – has a convivial bistro atmosphere. The chef makes sure to use plenty of vegetables in his traditional local cooking, featuring many ingredients from his native Corrèze. And like his father before him, who was a pork butcher, he makes all his sausages, black pudding and conserves himself!" - Michelin Inspector

A true neighborhood hidden gem recommended by the hotel we stayed. The food was classic, heartwarming French dishes, but it’s the staff that really made this place special. Laurent, the manager, was so friendly and funny, and the Pascal, the chef busy cooking in the kitchen, created some really delicious treats. The complimentary homemade potato chips with the homemade aioli impressed us immediately after we sat down. Then came the duck confit and stuffed cabbage as well as the fried risotto balls served on a bed of Swiss chard, all incredibly tasty, although a bit too salty for our liking. The highlight of the meal was the lemon soufflé, which was one of the best we have ever had and will never forget. It was a great dining experience, perhaps one of the best in Paris. We hope to come back again soon, as we feel we are already friends with Laurent and his staff by now.

We found this place on google with high reviews, we walked in without a reservation about 7:20pm. As soon as we walked in the staff was so nice and accommodating. There were several reserved tables but we lucked out and got a table immediately. The food was amazing and flavorful, unlike another restaurant we tried a day earlier. The service was fantastic and so friendly. If I was a local, I would come here all the time.

This was our first meal in Paris, recommended by the hotel staff. We really enjoyed the foie gras, but found the duck a bit too salty for our taste. Overall, the experience was good, and the service was very pleasant.

We ate here for dinner and ordered a bunch of plates! The cabbage was a standout, but the appetizers and entrees were also very good! And the wine list was great

Google
When I come to Paris duck confit is a must. It certainly didn’t disappoint here. It was tender and delicious with the perfect crust on the skin. They have an excellent selection of wine and the wait staff was up to par. We had 11 in our party and they were willing to accommodate us on some pretty short notice. I will definitely be back here again.

From the welcome treat of hand cut potato chips to white asparagus to the duck, we thought it couldn’t get any better until the blood orange grand marnier soufflé . Superb! Both of us are gluten free and there were so many choices for us. A special treat was the delicious gluten free bread. Know you will be well taken care of at this restaurant!

Google
Wonderful experience and delicious food! The staff were very welcoming and helpful. We called to book a table at the last minute and they were able to accommodate us. The duck was awesome with the perfect portion size, the wine was wonderful, and the souffle was heaven! The waitstaff was attentive, knowledgeable, and personable. I highly recommend Le Florimond!

Warm, welcoming establishment with exceptional food and hospitality. Our favorite restaurant of the trip. The stuffed cabbage and duck were exceptional- savory and sweet. The fig dessert was a perfect end to a lovely evening!

Yelp
If you're looking for elevated, modern French food, go here! I made a reservation a few weeks in advance for a special occasion. When we arrived, we were seated immediately and it was pretty quiet given we were on the early side (7:30). Our server spoke great English, was super friendly and helpful. My family and I ordered wine and cocktails, along with an appetizer, our main dishes, and the two desserts that needed to be prepared in advance. The appetizer was thinly sliced potatoes with a celery root puree and cheese on top. Absolutely delicious, and not as rich as you'd think. They served some great bread to mop up the sauce. Then the mains came. I got the wild boar and mushroom pasta. I do not love mushrooms but I honestly couldn't taste them in the dish, which is a plus for me. They did not skimp on the meat, and it was so tender I didn't even need my knife! It came with a roasted beet on top which was a little weird but I like beets so I didn't mind. My mom ordered the scallops which she loved, and my dad ordered the steak. He actually thought it was too rare so he sent it back, and they cooked it perfectly to his liking! Both their dishes came with the most amazing mashed potatoes, so creamy and garlicky. Then dessert! So the two desserts that needed to be ordered at the beginning of the meal were roasted pears with chocolate and hazelnut, and the orange and grand marnier soufflé. Both were absolutely worth the wait. So definitely come, make a reservation, then walk 10-15 minutes toward the Tour Eiffel for an extra treat!

Yelp
We have lost count as to how many times we have dined at Le Florimond. Lori and I bring our family to Le Florimond when we are in Paris. This restaurant features home style french food. It's like eating at your French Grandma's house. Our favorites included Grandma's stuffed cabbage and the mille-feuille. Rather than try to choose a wine let Laurent do it for you. Laurent is the manager of the dining room and our friend. I have reservations about revealing Le Florimond to the masses, I don't want it to get so crowded by tourists that it looses its charm. Send our regards to Laurent and enjoy an authentic French dinner. We are once again on the way soon.

Yelp
Le Florimond is a tiny little restaurant that has been in the same place for 32 years. I did a lot of research before choosing the last lunch of our stay in Paris, and this little gem didn't disappoint. The Mr. and I both chose the stuffed cabbage. Our server told us it was one of their specialities and with good reason. It honestly tasted like something grandma might have made. The stuffed cabbage is HUGE and is served in its own little pot, on a bed of flavorful gravy, and surrounded by sliced carrots. There was no way I could finish it, even though I hated to leave any of it uneaten. It was definitely big enough to share. The Mr. had the pear dessert and I had the best mille-feuille of the trip. Three flakey triangular shaped pastries were layered with a delectable cream. I honestly was too full to eat another bite, but the dessert was light and delicious. I couldn't stop eating it. We left stuffed but happy. It was a pleasure to dine @ Le Florimond. Pro tip: Reservations are a must. They do not accept reservations via email, so I had our hotel make it for me about a month in advance.

Noemi R.

Yelp
We lucked out getting the only free table of the night. If you choose to go, make sure you make a reservation in advance. They do have gluten free options and offer gluten free bread. I ordered the duck confit which was very tasty and had the blood orange soufflé for dessert. The servers were extremely nice and friendly. I also noted that they did not allow smoking in their outdoor area which I found refreshing as it seems standard in Paris to have someone smoking at the table next to you if you're outside.

Yelp
When you arrive at Le Florimond you will be greeted by the most pleasant staff I've ever experienced in Paris. This is just the beginning of an unparalleled dining experience. My spouse and I ordered duck pate and a puff pastry with smoked eggplant and roasted tomatoes. Both were excellent. For our main course we both ordered the duck confit. This is the star of the show. I have been to Paris many times and always order duck. From my experience this is the best I've had. I cant recommend this restaurant enough.

Yelp
Oh Pleez!!! A Michelin star restaurant right around the corner from our little bitty hotel. Who knew that a plate of perfect Foie Gras/Chutney and a perfectly poached egg on a bed of fresh mushrooms with a cream sauce would be "THE MEAL" in Paris! What a find! We passed by and saw the Michelin star in the window and prayed that they could fit us in and they had a cancellation and we scored a table for two (hand of God). Very non pretentious hosts and just honest amazing good cooking. We were delighted and highly recommended.

Yelp
Wonderful! Small, but every attention to detail was there. Confit de canard perfect, sauce excellent, and homemade catsup!! Dessert pears with baked on cookie n raspberry sorbet delightful. Will return!! Left very happy!!!!

Yelp
What a great way to end our trip to Paris! This was such an amazing find. It is a small little place with great customer service and amazing food. We were welcomed by the manager. We had to fly out early the next morning so had dinner at 7 pm (early for Paris). We walked in without reservations and of course, the restaurant was empty, He did have a table for us, but as we walked in we noticed all but 2 tables were reserved. We started with sweetbreads, we are adventurous eaters and wanted to try them. They were amazing! Great flavor, crunchy on the outside and moist inside. I highly recommend it. My wife ordered the ribs with mashed potatoes, they have been slow-cooked for 8 hours and were very good. Not American-style ribs and it was to try something different. The best meal was mine though, I ordered the stuffed cabbage! It was full of flavor, and the gravy was amazing. I highly recommend this dish! This same man greeted everyone warmly and knew most of the customers. He made the experience outstanding. This is the place to go when you are in Paris. We will be back.

Yelp
An intimate Parisian bistro with delicious food, excellent service and convenient location near the end of Rue Cler. They have three outdoor tables and ten inside. Highly recommended.

Catherine P.

Yelp
INCREDIBLE!! Absolutely can't miss. They are so kind and the food was outrageously good. I had the foie gras with their gf bread and the duck confit. One of the top ten meals of my life. Cannot recommend highly enough! Menu is marked for gluten and dairy. Felt very safe for my gluten allergy.

Li Ping H.

Yelp
The food was very good, and the service was even better. Get the beef cheek! The tables are small and close together like many french restaurants. Overall, a very delicious and cozy restaurant.

Yelp
Have eaten here a few times while traveling to Paris - this place is top notch! The owner is amazing, kind and attentive! The food is absolutely delicious - we had the hake, beef, and soufflé- amazing! Highly recommend stopping in and making a reservation as the restaurant is very small - we made a Friday night reservation on Wednesday and had no problem- this is a must do if you are a foodie - can't wait to travel back!

Yelp
My wife and I visited Paris in early June, 2022. Le Florimond was our favorite restaurant of the lot. We liked it so much that, upon finishing our first meal, we immediately asked the Manager, Laurent Martin, for a second reservation later in the week. Mr. Martin was a congenial and highly professional restaurateur. It was evident that he and his business partner and Chef, Pascal Guillaumin, not only took great pride in their offerings, but LOVED their jobs. Every dish was an immaculate creation, which tasted every bit as good as it looked. On our first night, I enjoyed the Duck liver foie gras, the Duck Confit, and the hot apple pie. My wife enjoyed a unique and delectable vegan taco creation, and our favorite dessert of the week, strawberries with mascarpone. On our second night, the highlight was the stuffed cabbage entrée and the Soufflé of blood orange marmalade and grand Marnier for dessert. The creativity, presentation and taste of these dishes, sourced from local producers, were truly exquisite. Even the bread, regularly sourced from the bakery right down the street, was at a level higher than all the otherwise outstanding breads we had across Paris. In closing, the added treat of Le Florimond was the charm of Mr. Martin. Quick to greet all his customers, and equally quick to check back and chat with them over the course of the meal, he never forgets a face or a name. Over our week's stay in the 7th, we often saw him outside the restaurant, on Avenue de La Mott Piquet as we were returning from some expedition. He always recognized us and waved or chatted. It must also be recognized that all this came from a gentleman who probably works 16 hours a day at his craft. Congratulations to both Messieurs Martin and Guillaumin for operating one of the best restaurants in the city. We will be back. Until then, Bon Appetit! Ed and Penny Goodin Chesapeake, Virginia, USA

Yelp
This is always our first go to for our first evening in Paris. Always a special treat. Laurent gives a warm welcome and introduces us to yet another memorable evening at Le Florimond. Over the years we have recommended this restaurant to family, friends and business colleagues. Without exception every one responds, "I can hardly wait to return.' We almost always return for a second or third visit each time we are in Paris. Mayor D Shrewsbury, NJ

Yelp
Our first night in Paris was made even more special with a dinner at Le Florimond. Upon entering the restaurant, Laurent and Hugo made us feel welcome and valued. They also made a point to learn our son's names and address them at the table (recognizing children and making them comfortable does not go unnoticed for me). The meals were exceptional (duck confit, wild boar, crispy mackerel), deserving of their Michelin star. The atmosphere was relaxed while also sophisticated. I cannot wait to return to Paris for another meal at Le Florimond!

Dan S.

Yelp
Amazing food! The owners are the chef and Laurent, the front man! The food, service, and price point are all exceptional. There were 6 of us and everyone loved their meal and the wine selection. For sure a hidden gem. Make a reservation, it looks like they are always busy!

Yelp
This has been one of my favorite restaurants in Paris this trip! We have eaten at 4 Michelin restaurants...BUT the flavor of the meals served here FAR exceed the Michelin. I am in love with Le Florimond!! The staff were sweet, kind, welcoming & funny! We had a wonderful time joking with them and enjoying the food. I had the lobster ravioli, duck confit, & dessert special- a hazelnut cake with citrus cream & Chantilly cream. Devine. Every bit of it. My friend had the escargot, the cabbage rolls (best in the city) but I will now claim the BEST IN THE WORLD!! And then the cheese plate. We both enjoyed bottle of wine and coffee. I could not have enjoyed my evening more. A huge THANK YOU to the owners and staff of Le Florimond! We very much enjoyed our evening with you!

Yelp
I had a spectacular experience here at Le Florimond. The first thing I noticed when I came in was how friendly and welcoming the waitresses and the staff was. The waitress made our experience really enjoyable as she talked to us and kept checking in with how we were doing. The food was amazing too. I got the lobster ravioli and it was so flavorful. For my main course, I got the duck and it was just as flavorful. They cooked it perfectly and it was tender, not dry like most ducks I've had. Overall, the service stood out to me as outstanding and the food did too. I'll be back to this restaurant when I visit Paris again!

Eric K.

Yelp
This was our second visit to Le Florimond. Last year, I vowed to eat here every time I come to Paris. The service is so professional and some of the friendliest you will find anywhere in Paris. The food is uniformly delicious. My mouth is literally watering with memories as I type this review. Stop reading reviews right now and call for a reservation!

Yelp
Exceptional experience. Attentive staff, excellent wine list, intimate setting. The food from lobster ravioli appetizer, duck confit, beef tenderloin through desert was nothing short of spectacular. This a must go to spot. English speaking staff were just great. Add this one to your list!

Yelp
Wife and I made reservations as found this highly recommended in our guide book to Paris. The service was fantastic and we felt very comfortable as soon as we stepped into the restaurant. Host and waiter worked tirelessly to make sure all our needs (and the other guests) were met. Host Offered menus in both English and French and was happy to answer any questions. Unlike some places in Paris, these hosts/waiters were quite attentive and really took pride in their work. I had the duck confit which was very rich. Skin was cooked perfectly with right amount of crispness. It's a heavy dish but o enjoyed it very much savoring every last bite. Also had lobster ravioli which was also delicious but filling. The chef can also be seen hard at work through a glass door. He's always looking into the restaurant seemingly to make sure everything is running smoothly. Everyone works well together and this shows in the quality of the food. Would highly recommend. This place is a bit more expensive than the average cafe/restaurant but I think the service and quality of food makes it worth your time. Dinner 6/11/19

Yelp
Disappointing! Not sure what's with all the good ratings here. Yes okay the service is exceptional, and I like the style of this restaurant, which is small sized 'boutique'ish with a limited menu (so chefs can specialize). However, I put most of my weight on food because I come to a restaurant to eat good (hopefully) food. 40 Euros for a 3 course meal. Not the priciest, but also that great of a deal. I started with lobster ravioli. This was actually pretty decent, and the only reason why I'm not giving this place 1 star Okay let's talk about the entree next. Cauliflower style risotto with this white fish (forgot what kind of fish) with some collard greens. Okay so I get the whole cauliflower-as-a-carb-substitute fad where you grind cauliflower and it acts as flour/rice/grain. However, the main problem I have with this dish is that it was flat, one-dimensional, boring. Cauliflower risotto was white, fish was white. Cauliflower risotto was soft, fish was soft. Absolutely no contrast in taste or texture. Not to mention, the flavor was bland. Nothing exciting going on in this dish. I will say the fish was cooked very well. However, the concept of this dish was not thought out as well. Dessert was creme brule. Not super interesting. Crust was very sugary.

Yelp
Oh how I love French dining. It's an experience to be savored. The leisureliness of it. As a woman, it's a pleasure to be addressed by the maître d', removing & hanging my coat, and pulling out my chair. And that I, not my male companion, chooses the wine and then I am to taste and decide. Who wouldn't love that?! The sophistication is equally partnered by the warmth of atmospher and the professional yet congenial service. The other diners appeared to be both French and American w a smattering of other nationalities. The atmospher was lively. We made reservations a few weeks prior to our arrival. The wine list is ample. Sancerre was the theme of my trip to Paris. The soup was compliments of the chef and it was velvety and warming. The fish of the day with the braised leeks was tender & the seasonings applied w a light hand so that the ingredients shone through. The famous stuffed cabbage is everything it claims to be abundant in richness and flavor. The desserts of crem brûlée and the beautiful poached pear were just right in their delicate flavor with just enough sweetness to satisfy. As we strolled through the misty streets back to the hotel we agreed that Le Florimond was the perfect meal for our first night in Paris.

Gayle M.

Yelp
I dine here every time I visit Paris. It is small and you need to call ahead. The food is so well prepared by the team that you will always go back. I have sent more people here when they ask me about where to eat!

Yelp
After wandering around Rue Cler, we made our way over to Le Florimond, where we had a very memorable dinner. So memorable, that I can clearly remember the food and our experience after several months of visiting. This restaurant is very small, so I highly recommend reservations. The atmosphere is cozy and very inviting, the staff is very attentive and friendly, and the food is amazing! Our amuse bouche was cauliflower panna cotta with sweet potato puree. I'm not really a fan of cauliflower or sweet potato, but for some reason I couldn't stop eating this. I ended up eating all of mine, plus my dad's... and aunt's. Man, I sound like a heffer! I ordered the pork and eggplant stuffed veal with pasta and veggies. This was a very interesting dish, as I've never had veal prepared this way. It had a variety of textures and flavors that magically went really well together. My hubby had the steak and stew. Yup... his one entree included both. The stew was incredibly tender and the steak had great flavor with the sauce. It was a ton of meat for one dish. The accompanying wine sauce was so good, the hubby actually got a little buzzed off of the ridiculous amount he had. He even purchased a jar to take home. For dessert we ordered the chocolate crepes with lemon ice cream and the napoleon with strawberries, raspberries, and vanilla bean custard. The crepes were presented similarly to a choco taco, but 1000 times better. The napoleon was by far, the biggest napoleon I've ever seen in my life. As soon as it hit the table, my initial reaction elicited a "that's what she said" from the hubby.... sigh. Anyways, it wasn't like a traditional napoleon, or what I thought was a traditional napoleon. Regardless of how it was constructed, it was absolutely delicious! The vanilla bean custard was excellent! The prices here are very reasonable considering how large the portions are. This was one of our favorite meals in Paris, and I would definitely recommend coming here if you're planning to visit.

Yelp
Food: 1/5 The lobster ravioli was so tasteless, my wife and I felt like we were eating air. For my main dish I had the slow cooked beef which tasted like a college student's poor attempt at a crockpot meal. I was so excited for dessert because I thought there was no way they could screw it up, but sure enough the puff pastry tasted like it was made without sugar. We tasted pastries far superior at any of the local pastry shops for a fraction of the cost. Service: 2/5 Our waitress was kind enough, though lacked the competence of a great server. First, she came to our table and didn't have the specials memorized and had to read from a chalkboard. Secondly, she overcharged us by 17€ for our wine! This has never happened to me EVER. Atmosphere: 1/5 It's deafeningly quiet in the place. The tables are jammed next to each other and you can hear every murmur from both sides. They need to play music or something because it's incredibly uncomfortable. All in all, easily the worst meal and experience we had on our 2 week Europe vacation.

Yelp
We cross referenced this place on trip advisor and yelp. The food gods were kind enough to let us experience this place!! My husband and in-laws were having drinks just a block away and I walked over to this restaurant to look at the menu. The owner of the restaurant saw me outside glancing at the menu and he greeted me so happily and he was super welcoming. He apologized and said that there were no available seats inside and I can make a reservation for the next day. Unfortunately, I knew we would spending the following day at the Palace of Versailles, so I explained the situation. The owner must have saw the disappointment in my face and he graciously offered the outdoor seating area for us. (It had just finished raining, so I guess no one reserved the outside seats.). I happily took him up on his offer and got my family-- we had such a good experience here. It's a prefixed menu of 37 euro per person. You get one appetizer, one entree, and one dessert. There is a classic menu that you can order from, but there is also a black chalkboard menu where you are also allowed to order from. Note: selected items are noted where you add 2-7 euros to the prefixed price depending on the complexity of the dish. They have an Italian menu and an English menu. The chalkboard menu is in Italian, but the owner sent his head waiter to come translate for us. They definitely get an A+ for customer service! From the classic menu, we ordered the lobster ravioli, confit de canard, and Chou farci (stuffed cabbage), three sorbets with homemade stewed fruit, cheese platter, and puff pastry. Lobster ravioli was delicious and you can tell it was made by hand and freshly done. My Confit de Canard (braised duck) was flavorful, crispy on the outside and perfectly cooked/ moist on the inside. My hubby's stuffed cabbage was MASSIVE! It was packed with flavor. I think they used french onion soup as the base soup. The actual stuffed cabbage was like a brick (in a good way!) My mother and father in law ordered the short ribs (slow cooked for 7 hours.) The ribs were pretty good too, but I wish it had a small side of the sauce. We drizzled some leftover sauce from the stuffed cabbage on it and it definitely elevated the flavor. Everything was amazing. The house wine was decently price and delicious. The owner checked on us 3 times and the head waiter was extremely attentive.

Yelp
So welcoming from the very beginning. No reservations - got right in. Everyone was so friendly and kind. Happy people all around. Amazing food. The chef even came out and said hi to everyone, shook our hands and introduced himself. This dinner was one of the best. Food, service, atmosphere - all around perfect! Merci.

Yelp
Best meal in Paris!!!!! We spent our anniversary at this small restaurant and the food was amazing, the staff was very friendly and made it a great evening. I had the duck confit which was phenomenal! I highly recommend Le Florimond but make a reservation as several walk in guests were turned away.

Yelp
This is one of the last restaurants my girlfriend and I went to over and it 10 days in Paris, and I can say without a doubt this was by far the best of our trip. I speak relatively good French, but my girlfriend does not know a word, and the restaurant made sure she had an English menu, as well as translating the list of the specials for us. The staff was extremely friendly and attentive. The prices are very fair for the quality of the food. Would recommend for anyone looking for a great meal with a great staff.

Yelp
we had the stuffed cabbage i think it was the best meal i have ever tasted I give it a 10 star. service could not have been better have never felt so welcome in a resturant,

Yelp
Le Florimond was excellent. We didn't realize you needed reservations. They found a place outside which turned out to be great. Had a crab appetizer and sole fish that was spectacular. Our other friends had a veal dish that was very tender with great flavor. For dessert, I had a creme brûlée with an orange flavor. The chef came out and greeted us. This place was recommended by the owner of our apartment. We loved that there were a lot of local clientele. The staff went out of their way to help us understand the menu.

Yelp
Fantastic French Restaurant right near our hotel. Stumbled upon this gem. Superb service, very friendly to non-french speakers, excellent food. The charcuterie plate was amazing, so was the Lobster ravioli, I loved the Lamb leg. Dessert was excellent too. Much better than the brassiere's nearby and I thought it was a good value for a pre-fixe too. Definitely a winner!

Glenn L.

Yelp
Wonderful restaurant for a cozy, romantic dinner in Paris. Owner and staff friendly and funny. The food and wine were delicious.

Thomas S.

Yelp
My wife and I went to this restaurant last night after reading the reviews. We did not have reservations, but there was one table available for us. Lawrence ran the small restaurant, and both he and the server made us feel more than welcome, even though we spoke no French. I loved the fact that the food choices were limited, and the prices were set at €40 for the complete dinner, excluding the wine. Right from the start, I knew that we were going to have fun at this restaurant. My wife said "surprise me" as to her food choices, and they were beyond exceptional, as were mine. I can't remember the last time I had so much fun at a restaurant. The service was way beyond anything I could describe in words. If you are looking for a restaurant in this area of Paris, stop looking at other choices. This is "the one".

Yelp
Came here while we were on our honeymoon. Wow! Absolutely fantastic food. Staff spoke English and were super polite and kind. Would love to come back here someday.

Yelp
This was one of my favorite restaurants my friend and I went to while in Paris. You MUST make a reservation. They fill up even during the week. And your reservation is pretty much you have a table for the night. The restaurant is only open for 3 hours for dinner and 2 hours for lunch time. As we walked in, the staff asked to take our coats to a coat room. Its a small place. Cozy. But you can definitely hear other peoples conversations. They brought us their specials written on a board. They had a 3 course dinner menu where you select an appetizer, entree and dessert. My friend ordered the escargot as an appetizer. It was her first time trying i(the people at the table next to us told her it was really good). It was different than escargot that I am used to seeing. It came in a green sauce/soup like dish. She said it was delicious. I ordered the lobster ravoili as an appetizer. It was also really good. My friend and I both decided to try what the waiter recommended My friend got the duck as an entree and I got their fish special of the day. Both were excellent. And for dessert we both got this strawberry and cream puff pastry. It was hugeee and a definite great way to end the meal. The waiters would never interrupt your conversation and would wait for a good moment to bring out your courses. They spread them out very well. They were so nice and friendly. It made the whole experience a great one. I would definitely come back here when I visit Paris again.

Yelp
Fantastic restaurant - great food, great service and a great ambience. In fact, this was far and away our best dining experience in France including here in Paris where we dined at Le Fontaine des Mars. So, where do I start? Our server, friendly Laurent with the colorful ties, greats everyone like they are family with a smile on his face; the food is excellent from entree through dessert, each dish carefully prepared and presented; and restaurant is cozy and comfortable - the tables are not crowded together like other French restaurants. What's more prices are very reasonable with a complete menu of entree, main, and dessert for 40 euros. So, if you are looking for an enjoyable evening out, look no further than Le Florimond. And when to there, say hi to Laurent for me!

Yelp
We received a few recommendations for restaurants in Paris but we didn't realize how popular they would be. The better ones almost always require a reservation - and most restaurants don't open for dinner until 630pm or so (which was a surprise to us.) We found this place in our little Zagat book, and our concierge was nice enough to get us dinner reservations....for 930pm...but at least we got one. Never mind that we got off the wrong train stop and almost never made it, but luckily after walking almost a mile we did find the little gem. The owner is what being a good restaurateur is about. Welcoming, accommodating and great overall service. The best thing we had was the stuffed cabbage. Don't let the word "cabbage" throw you for a loop. It's not smelly stuff that you'd rather not eat. This dish had a thin cabbage layer, over a mound/slice of yummy beef goodness. My husband got a lamb dish, but he liked mine so much more. The only thing I would say you have to get used to is the close quarters. It's not like the U.S. where we value our personal space. Most restaurants are housed in small areas and the tables are VERY close to one another. Still, it was a very enjoyable dining experience. Later that night we showed the owner his zagat rating and the fact that he had good ratings on Yelp. (Evidently he'd never seen them before.) He just smiled and said..."when you do what you love".... and that was explanation enough. Go and enjoy. You won't regret it. Just don't forget to make reservations at least the day before!

Yelp
This small bistro is absolutely fantastic. Make sure that you make a reservation because it is quite small but in a great and cozy familiar way. The house made blood pudding on a buckwheat crepe was out of this world to start. As where the lobster ravioli. For mains the 9 hour short rib with Sichuan peppercorns was like butter. The veal was scrumptious and so was the confit de canard with perfectly crisp skin and juicy tender meat. The wine list was small but well chosen. One owner serves as maître d and the other as chef and they treat you like you are a local.

Yelp
This place is one of my favorites in Paris. The staff was genuine and friendly; the food was absolutely amazing. I loved the lobster ravioli and foie gras (appetizers), the duck was really delicious as well. We'll be coming back here the next time we visit Paris This restaurant fills up really quickly. You'd want to make a reservation ahead of time to guarantee a table.

Yelp
I've been here a few times and the food is always consistent with very good service. Recently enjoyed lobster ravioli, duck confit; and sea bass. Very American friendly for first timers to Paris. if your hotel is in the rue Cler area, this is a good place to go.

Yelp
Since 2002, this is one of the restaurants we regularly visit when in Paris on the 7th. The food is outstanding, the service is genuine and efficient. Try their stuffed cabbage.....Make a reservation and enjoy in a comfortable, smart casual setting.

Yelp
Fantastic restaurant, one of our favorites in Paris! We tried to walk in early one evening but they were fully booked, so we made a reservation for the next day. We were the first ones to arrive the day of our reservations and were quickly seated. The owner of the restaurant seems to run a tight ship; all of the staff was extremely professional, albeit a bit stiff and not terribly talkative. You can tell they take their food very seriously, and it shows. I had the 3 course meal and my fiancée just had a steak. My 3 course meal was incredible from start to finish, and the crispy duck was the best I've ever had, anywhere. I can't recommend it highly enough ! Overall it was a very satisfying dining experience and I would absolutely recommend it. Although we did not feel it was the most warm and welcoming atmosphere, everyone was very accommodating and professional and the fantastic food more than made up for the lack of charisma from the staff.

Yelp
I have been coming to this restaurant for many years and always leave satisfied with what I have had! The seasonal menus change every week, the dishes are traditional yet creative (like a ratatouille with small pieces of mango!!), and the service always impeccable. Besides, the bread that is served with the meal is excellent as is the wine. This is indeed a good investement!

Yelp
We wanted to take our good friend out to dinner for her birthday. Because she works, and had to get up early the next day she requested that we stay in her neighborhood. We're not familiar with the 6eme or 7eme otherwise known as "Little America" since the majority of the people there are either American/English speaking expats or visitors staying there. JJ researched and found "Le Florimond"; it had great reviews from several sources and even had the endorsement of Rick Steves, which to me is not always good, I'll explain later. The restaurant is really cute, small but quaint. And, the staff couldn't be nicer. We got seated while we waited for our friend and I noticed that 90% of the patrons were foreign and mostly American. I suppose not unusual for the 7eme arrondissement. They had a board with today's suggestions and they have a prefix menu of 35€, which included an entrée, plat, and dessert. Once our friend arrived, we both ordered a coupe de champagne to hit off the celebration and JJ ordered a pastis for our apéros.. We all started with the "salad d'épinards, pickles d' asperges et radis au vinaigre de pommes" loosely translated, a spinach salad with pickled asparagus and radishes with apple vinegar. It looked fine when it was served, but there was literally no taste. It was bland, plus extremely oily. I noticed our birthday celebrant kept sprinkling salt on her salad and so did I. For me, it was primarily to cut back on the oiliness and blandness. So not a good start. For our plat, our birthday celebrant ordered the "Confit de cuisse de canard et Corrèze, pommes de terre miettes" loosely translated, confit of duck with potatoes. The first thing that caught my eye was the presentation, or lack of. The potatoes looked like hash browns and the confit looked dry and overcooked and the salad just seemed misplaced. They really could've plated it much better. And, according to our birthday celebrant, the looks matched the taste. I had the fish of the day, which was the "turbot". I have to say the fish was cooked perfectly and tasted really good, after I salted it with sel de mer; the chantrelle mushrooms were good as well. It wasn't the best I've ever had, but it was passable! JJ had the "Chou Farci" translated to stuffed cabbage. It was cooked in a clay pot as would a boeuf bourginon. I had a taste of it, and I liked it. It was nothing to scream about but it was a good, wholesome dish, just like they said, as Grandmother would make. I had the cheeses, nice selection so really nothing to add there. You can never really go wrong with cheeses in France, unless they serve it to you spoiled. Our birthday celebrant had the "Millefeuille à la vanille bourbon" loosely translated, puff pastry with a vanilla bourbon cream. Well this gave a new meaning to size isn't everything. Our celebrant said that it was very bland and had absolutely no flavor. As the restaurant knew it was her birthday, they added a candle; a nice touch! JJ had the "Molelleux au chocolat noir, coeur fondant au Gianduja, coulis de litchis" loosely translated, chocolate fondant cake with coulis of litchis. It wasn't anything special, and it was somewhat overcooked. It was more cake than fondant, so not a big hit with JJ. Summary: It is a small restaurant, so the noise level got really high once it filled up. It was very difficult to follow a conversation. The tourists seem very happy with the service and food. One thing I have to say, the service was impeccable. They're friendly, observant and couldn't be nicer; unfortunately, the food, not so. Going back to my Rick Steve's comment we jokingly said that once Rick Steve put his stamp of approval on a restaurant it's as good as the "kiss of death" as the restaurant becomes filled with American tourists and the quality seems to fall. I wanted so much to like this restaurant because the staff are so nice. Would I go back, probably not? I think I'll leave this restaurant to the tourists.

Yelp
Ate at this wonderful place last week. The duck was cooked to perfection, the stuffed cabbage was good and the desserts were amazing. The chef comes out to great everyone during the evening. This was a nice touch for us. We will definitely come back on our next visit to Paris!

Yelp
This place is fantastic and by far the best dining experience I had with Paris. I am an American but speak fluent French, however my wife does not speak a lick. They were very accommodating for English speakers, and would speak French to me and slip nicely into English for my wife. A 3 course meal runs you 90 euros, which was fair for the great food. Everything tasted fantastic and not a single dish (6 in total) was a disappointment. The staff was so friendly, and funny!! The maître d' is a fantastic fellow. I loved this place. The ambiance was great. The chef gave us free appetizers and the maître d' comped our champagne and beer (2 champ and 1 beer). Our best night in Paris!!

Yelp
This place was recommended to us by a young woman working in a nearby bakery. Her boyfriend works in the kitchen here. We were not disappointed. We had their two signature dishes, the stuffed cabbage and the duck confit. The duck was accompanied by roasted potatoes, not the usual frites. The pork stuffed cabbage was in a dark, rich, sauce that invited the use of bread to soak up every last drop. We had the parsnip soup for an entree. It was creamy, sweet and perfectly seasoned. The staff was attentive and friendly, and patient with my attempts to "parlez francaise". We plan to return during this trip to try some of the inviting specials on their carte. - you can either order a la carte, or from the menu, where a 3 course meal is 38 euros.
