Where To Pick Up Breakfast Pastries For Christmas Morning - Chicago - The Infatuation

"Speaking of quiche, there’s a lot of it happening at French Quiche in Lincoln Park. Their Christmas breakfast box includes two slices of your choice of quiche - Lorraine, Provencale, Savoyarde, or Parisienne - along with two pain au chocolate and truffles. Or you can order a whole quiche de Noël, which is filled with lobster, cream, and swiss cheese." - adrian kane

stopped by after visiting navy pier. it was great! no wait at all—we went at around 11:30 a.m—and they had a nice selection. we got the Paris Brest and Paris Exotico to-go. both were fantastic! i loved the paris brest. smooth consistency, amazing flavor. not to mention the yummy cookie it was placed on! the paris exotico was delicious as well. i loved the combination of blackberry and mango. the whipped cream topping was great too—very thick. overall, very satisfied!

Nice French Patisserie. We were visiting Navy Pier and had some time before our show so we stopped by Le French Patisserie. The atmosphere was nice and service was fast with a large selection of desserts. We will definitely be back for more!

Google
Le French Patisserie gets 3 stars only because the place itself is nice and the pastries look good (though I didn’t try them and won’t). I stopped by because it caught my attention, but as soon as you walk in the atmosphere feels anything but welcoming. The girl at the counter had such bad energy, like she didn’t want to be there or serve anyone. It makes you feel like they just want you to buy, pay, and leave — when the least you expect is good customer service. I don’t recommend it and I won’t be back. I ordered a spinach pie and they heated it up in a microwave — what a sin! With a proper oven or at least warming it correctly, it would have been so much better. Put some effort into the service, because otherwise customers won’t return. Such a shame for a place with potential.

I stumbled upon this little French pastry shop while walking the lakefront with my husky, and it became the perfect stop. The owner was incredibly kind and even brought water out for my dog, which I really appreciated. The pastries are beautiful (almost too pretty to eat) and taste just as good as they look. I tried the coconut cloud matcha and it was so refreshing after a long walk. The whole experience felt welcoming, relaxed, and thoughtfully made — I’m definitely coming back, whether for a girl date, a romantic date, or just another treat for myself.

This French patisserie is nothing short of exceptional. Each pastry is a handcrafted masterpiece—almost too beautiful to eat (but trust me, you’ll want to). The care and artistry that go into everything here are evident in every bite. The space itself is stunning: crisp white marble, elegant brass accents, and an ambiance that transports you straight to a chic Parisian café. Add in a charming view of the water and the nearby fountains, and you’ve got the perfect backdrop for a luxurious little escape. The owner is genuinely kind, and the entire staff is warm, welcoming, and wonderfully accommodating. Whether you’re stopping in for a morning croissant or an afternoon indulgence, you’ll feel like a treasured guest. This place is pure joy—stylish, delicious, and filled with heart. Don’t miss it!

The desserts were good but they don’t show the price. Each cake is about 6-8 dollars. Be aware. We ordered a lot. Other than the items in the photos, we also have ham sandwich and pistachios cookie. Mocha lemon drink tastes like diluted lemonade with some mocha flavor. It mixed well with all the sweets. But if you are only ordering drink, you may find it disappointing. It’s watery. The purple cake not recommended. I don’t like it at all. Ham sandwich is ok. The pastry has thick shell. Suggestion would be go for the dessert not sandwich. All other desserts in the photos are good. Pistachios cookie is not overly sweet recommend it as well.

Google
The pastries 10/10. The staff were so considerate and attentive. I had 4 pastries 3 of which I took to go. Each was a unique flavor experience with intricate layers of complimentary elements. First bite foodgasm with each one for different reasons. Even if you don’t typically like sweets, I’d recommend. The flavor profile relies on the natural accents and freshness of the ingredients rather than just a ton of sugar. <3

The most amazing desserts. Beautiful as much as they are tasty. Phillip was so helpful with lots of information in what to do in Chicago! Will definitely be coming back!

Yelp
Far and above one of the best surprises we found in Chicago. Loved this place so much that we visited twice during our day at Navy Pier. Delicious and gloriously beautiful fresh pastries, yummy cold drinks (perfection on a 100-degree July day), warm staff, and an inviting atmosphere inside and out. We loved the ham and cheese croissants and fresh-out-of-the-oven spinach pie so much that we couldn't resist a couple mini-macarons to top off our lunch. Wow. To top it all off, when we commented on the delish spinach börek, head pastry chef Nicolai invited us to gear up for a quick tour of the kitchen! Gleamingly clean and organized, it is an envy to all who cook and bake. There is magic made there, believe me. The staff in and out of the kitchen were helpful and so very pleasant, we had no trouble at all deciding to come back at the end of our day at Navy Pier to see them again and enjoy their incomparable iced summer fruit teas. (I want the recipes! Sooooo good.) Thanks to Nicolai and the two Marias for efficiently packing up our additional macarons and spinach börek to take home. We will be back to see them next time we visit Chicago.

Yelp
Le French Patisserie is cuteness overload, esthetically gorgeous just like the desserts they are selling. Came across this spot after walking back from Navy Pier. It's close by. Le French Patisserie offers coffee, gelato, & delicious pastries, including croissants, profiteroles, crème brûlée, and tiramisu. What did I have - La Mure Tart - $12 -Blueberry confit, light yogurt cream, almond dacquoise - light/fluff texture, refreshing, and creamy Guava Cold Cheesecake - $9.30 - Creamy cheesecake infused with sweet guava flavor and topped with a guava glaze - creamy texture, the guava is infused throughout the dessert (taste in every bite), it's sweet but not overly sweet (good balance) Pros 1. Beautiful bakery. 2. Beautiful desserts. 3. Friendly staff and welcoming atmosphere. 4. Indoor seating. Extremely clean inside. Cons 1. The lady who assisted me was very sweet, but she didn't know dessert ingredients. There are signs but I had specific questions like - gluten free, etc. Overall, I recommend trying Le French Patisserie. The curbside appeal is adorable and the desserts are to delicious looking and tasting to pass up. Just inquire about ingredients if you have any dietary restrictions.

Yelp
Hmmm where do I begin. The photos are super beautiful on Google (my mistake, I should have checked yelp and see the bad reviews beforehand). I came in. The desserts look beautiful in person too. I ordered the most expensive item they have. A pistachio matcha cake, $9.3. They charged me $12.2, a 30% tax (their words, they said it was all tax)? If it's service fee or anything else added, I would be fine with it, but they said it's TAX. they also never gave me the breakdown of the receipt, so I had no idea what was added. I googled the tax of this area, it's not that high. So Something is going on. The reviews on Google are fake. Very disappointed. Be transparent. It's an upscale area. I'm ok with paying higher prices, but be transparent.

Yelp
Overpriced coffee that didn't taste very good. This wasn't my first choice for my first cup of coffee in Chicago, and I definitely regret it. I had just arrived in town, was heading to Navy Pier, and needed a quick pick-me-up. Not sure if it was Chicago prices, Navy Pier prices, or just the owner being greedy, but $9 for a flavorless, lukewarm pumpkin spice latte is ridiculous especially when I asked for skim milk and they used whole instead. Definitely wouldn't come here again. The place did look spacious and had plenty of empty seating, though.

Yelp
Beautiful pastries. Delicious. Very clean shop. Highly recommend if you're in the area.

Yelp
WOW! Incredible and delicious. So many options. Tastes amazing. And great service. Just pricey!

Yelp
Awesome bakery off of the lake shore path near navy pier. Huge chocolate croissants that are ooey gooey and debatably one of the best chocolate chip cookies in Chicago.

Yelp
Stopped by after an evening at Navy Pier since it's in walking distance and I have a sweet tooth. The place is very bright and everything looks so delicious. There was no line and plenty of seating area when we arrived. We ordered this pistachio matcha tarte, a hot chai latte & a Nutella hot chocolate. I enjoyed the tarte and my latte. My partner said the hot Chocolate taste more like warm milk versus hot chocolate.

Yelp
Made a stop on the way to the navy pier a very cute little shop. Tried the summer strawberry rose lemonade very refreshing. Beautiful pastries some may think they are a bit pricey but hey you're in the city!

Yelp
Hmmmmm... stopped in. It's a beautiful & clean setup inside. Very pretty presentation (still not my beloved Vanille in the French Market) inside the counters. I feel like something was off. It all looks too perfect, honestly. I bought a piece of chocolate layer with mousse or something. The man working said it did not have nuts of any kind in it. It was around $8 or $9. Large slice, wrapped nicely and a cute little gold dessert fork added into the box We ate it after dinner, honestly, although it was pretty, I would not buy it again. The cake part was very dry chocolate, kinda like it was a day old. The mousse part filling of cake layers was good. We both dumped the cake portion and both of us only ate filling. No, I will not return, and it's too bad. I was excited for this new French pastry shop (no croissants). Very pretty place but that cake piece was not edible, imho. 2stars 1 for in-store display/presentation and 1 for the cake filling... no stars for cake. One and done.

Yelp
WATCH OUT FOR EXTRA CHARGES. Cute desserts but shady business practice. When paying for the dessert we ordered, the man working there asked us if we were locals or visiting. We said visiting. There was no option to print/ text receipt after paying, so I asked for a paper receipt. The receipt he gave me wasn't itemized, so I asked if he could print an itemized receipt to show what I bought to get reimbursed for work. He hesitated and said he couldn't print an itemized receipt. He said he could just tell me how much the item was. I asked if I could maybe take a picture of the screen on the iPad. He said he couldn't let me do that. I repeated that I needed something itemized to get reimbursed for work. He then said he could take a picture of the screen on his phone and let me take a picture of the picture on his phone. I did take a picture and noticed that extra charges were added to my purchase. 41 cents for a box (even though we ate it there) and 12% gratuity added (even though I never selected anything. There was no option for gratuity when paying). Unfortunately, I won't be back and won't recommend this place to anyone due to this type of business practice of adding on extra charges/gratuity without the customer knowing.

Yelp
Overall the food was great. The profiterol was delicious. It's ~$9, but it looks fantastic and tastes amazing - the chocolate cake, mousse, and cream all combine together fantastically. My girlfriend and I enjoyed it. We also had 3 macaroons. They were very savory, not too sweet, and had a great texture. The chai and hot chocolate were ok. They're brewed with milk not water so it's not like it's a keureg, but it's nothing fancy. Nicholas was working when we went there and he was super great, gave us fantastic service. We had a whole discussion with him about different menu items when deciding what to get. Overall 4/5. Skip the drinks, get everything else. Also for those of you at navy pier who need a bathroom, they have them.

Yelp
I visited this restaurant because I won an Instagram giveaway to try "a pastry and a beverage of your choice." When I showed them the message to claim, the worker limited the pastry that I choose from to only a few options. I could only select pastries that were in a cup. I wanted to try a different pastry. I selected a tiramisu and it was lackluster. There was lots of cream and not much coffee flavor. The small cup of tiramisu will run you over $7. I'd pass on the tiramisu, but would be open to trying other items. I also tried the nutella latte. This was surprisingly good. The latte had balanced flavor of bitter and sweet. It also had a strong coffee flavor, which I enjoyed. It wasn't busy when I went, and there's a good amount of seating. It's a pretty aesthetic location, if you're looking to take good café photos.

Yelp
New to the area.. My Creme brûlée didn't have the crack and for that.. I can't give it an honest review. It was edible for sure but I am a huge Creme brûlée fanatic and it a French pastry place can't get it right.. Houston we have a problem. Expect a crowd, it's next to the Navy Pier.

Yelp
Wonderful place! The man behind the counter was super sweet and friendly and got us our food and drinks very quickly. I tried several pastries and they were all very good. For the intricacy and quality of desserts with the customer service and calm but vibrant aesthetics I believe the price points are fair and it is a worthwhile stop.

Yelp
FINALLY downtown Chicago has a proper patisserie like you'd expect in NYC, Paris, London, Tokyo etc. Very high quality French pastries with traditional and experimental flavors. Everything is executed flawlessly in a posh space with super friendly service -- you can't quite tell who the owner is because everybody is so knowledgeable and kind as if they are the owner. As a local to Chicago, I would never expect Navy Pier to be hosting such a must-visit food destination. Whoever is running this place is very talented. I will be bringing everyone here from now on. if they open a location in Lincoln Square, I would be there every day. I'm not sure why this place doesn't have five stars to be honest with you. Whoever is docking points is being dramatic (no shade to Vanille but they are not in the same league as this place. And of course it's not a 3-dollar profiterole, there are four of them tucked into a Belgian chocolate mousse. Do you have any idea how much those ingredients cost? Do you have any idea how technically difficult a good choux pastry is to pull off??). I have very high standards for pastries as somebody who has spent a lot of time in all of the world capitals and even I was blown away.

Yelp
Amazing. Best patisserie in the city. Style and substance, which is rare. Bit pricey, but what French patisserie isn't. Just wish they had mille-feuille more regularly. :)

Melissa P.

Yelp
Our first time ever here and the place is so cutesy and aesthetic, the customer service is so sweet. The desserts were so good and refreshing, was also very affordable.
google avatar

Rebekah L.

Yelp
Closed with no signage which is unfortunate because we paid for parking and everything to stop by. Not sure what's going on here but it would be helpful to have more information online regarding store closings or even a phone number to call. Not how I'd expect someone to start a business.

Jasir J.

Yelp
Really expensive and the food quality suck, y'all don't should lose your money here, it's good for social medias and those thing but when u try it's really diferente
google avatar

Yunus K.

Yelp
Sat here right now Tried the pistachio gelato - very little sugar in it yuck. Macaron was ok Hot chocolate, what really irritates me is the Nutella hot chocolate was served with probably less than a tea spoon of Nutella. Could only taste milk. I respectively gave the drink back and said it's not hot chocolate it's milk. 1 star, the coffee is ok.

Yelp
Over the top delicious! I'm addicted to the crème brûlée. Owner incredibly charming. The pastries are works of art. There is gold leaf on my second favorite sweet!! Definitely worth a stop on the way home from Navy Pier.

Savannah F.

Yelp
Beautiful place, incredible pastries, very kind employees. Will definitely be coming back!

Yelp
Stopped by on our way back to our hotel on navy pier and glad we did! Everything was beautifully presented and we honestly had a tough time choosing. We had crème brûlée, cheesecake with black currant and another beautiful dessert along with coffees. All were amazing and the owner was friendly and informative. There are several safe options for those with nut allergies which was a Lou's for us. Will definitely be back

Yelp
This place may as well be in the heart of Paris, all of the food is exquisitely displayed and beautiful. The service was nice and polite. The inside was so clean I didn't want to make any sort of mess. Must see this place and taste the many delicacies.

Alexandrea C.

Yelp
Absolutely delicious! The creme brûlée was fantastic, the texture was perfect and the flavor was out of this world! Coffee was great as well. This is a must stop in navy pier!

Yelp
Best coffee in the city, amazing staff and pastries 10 out of 10 , must visit if in the area
google avatar

Yelp
This place is fantastic, hate to see the negative reviews they're getting on here. Their pastries are top tier and the coffee is very good. Hoping more people find out about this place because I really enjoy coming here.

Yelp
Horrible! Walking back from Navy Pier and tried some cookies from what looked like a great place. Completely inedible. The most expensive garbage I've bought in a long time. Even the tourist places actually in Navy Pier are better than this. Don't waste your money.
google avatar

Amy V.

Yelp
Horrible manager doesn't know what he's doing also gives me an off vibe for some reason, pastries are fancy looking but honestly disgusting. the girl working with the lattes was nice 10/10 for her

Sasha S.

Yelp
The desserts were amazing, tasting not too sweet but just right. Nicolas explained every dessert which we tried and he was very helpful. We recommend this place a lot to to everyone. If we come to Chicago again we are 100% coming back

Hyung Il N.

Yelp
First time I've had hot fresh croissant. Must have been great timing. Would definitely come back!

V P.

Yelp
Stopped by on an impulse! very close to navy pier so it's a stop worth making. Alejandro was very helpful with suggestion, the tiramisu is definitely one of the best I've had in awhile!

Kenny H.

Yelp
Nice mousse and very nice service. I think we met the owner and he was very very kind. Coffee isn't sweet so if you want sugar, just ask. Cute little spot outside of navy pier

yvette c.

Yelp
Walked to this place to get some pastries around 4pm and it was closed. They really need to update online hours or specify closing days

Dwellie S.

Yelp
online says open at 9am and it's 10am and no one is here! no good so please post correct time on the door or windows please
