Le Goût du Jour

I came here for lunch with my bf (yes please reserve). I got the normal lunch menu (cheaper) and my bf got the inspiration menu (more expensive). We did share everything anyway but I would recommend to get the more expensive menu because the food is simply better 😊 The normal menu I got was just some chicken strips dipped in pepper sauce...it was fine I guess but maybe I expected a bit more at a restaurant on the Michelin guide. Of course, everything was great! The services was good and the ambiance of the place was very nice. All in all, I would recommend the slightly more expensive menu for lunch here 👍

Full of surprise also happiness !! Any food critic who can't give at least two stars, or who hasn't come and eaten here yet, I feel sad for them ! Love everyone from kitchen to services ❤️ My favorite restaurant in France now 😍

When you have no experience driving in Avignon and the GPS takes you through narrower and narrower streets, and you are so stressed you think you will have a cardiac arrest..... when you finally park the car and decide to eat on the first place that you pass by.... when you stop by Le Gout de Jour and you realize that was the best thing that could have possibly happened! THAT is pure bliss. Everything is magical - the food, presentation, tastes, exotic without being silly. We had a complete blast. It happened to us by total serendipity - you? You should make a reservation and go there ASAP!

We’re happy we found a table at this nice restaurant so last minute! Starting with the food: the surprise appetizer with the candied tomato was very original. We can’t complain at all about the food, except that the fish portion was maybe a bit too small compared to the meat one and all the veggies we received. The mushroom desert was also very original. Altogether the food was fresh and very tasty. I also appreciated that staff could accommodate my raspberry intolerance. The tableware also stood out and was beautiful. The atmosphere was intimate yet cozy, which we particularly enjoyed. A note on service: we sensed some stress from the waiters side. Maybe one of them was still learning, but we had to wait quite long before getting the menus, and we received our appetizers before receiving the drinks. So the first hour was a bit chaotic, but then, it took a nice flow. We definitely recommend this!

Visited this restaurant last night and can see why they got the Michelin star. Food was excellent and very reasonable. Friendly staff Would highly recommend.

The food and service were excellent. Also the wine pairings were spot on.

Walked into this lovely award winning cafe for Saturday lunch, seats available. Had the Menu Inspiration 4 courses that were actually 8…quick and knowledgeable service, staff translated for me, great local wine paring. Fresh, creative, seasonal inspired dishes were vegetable, fish and duck. Great experience.

Amazing restaurant! We felt very welcome and comfortable in this beautiful space. The food was also beautiful and delicious. Our rose wine was fabulous and affordable. Highly recommend this place!!
