"The rooftop restaurant - on the eleventh floor of the 1926 Le Soleil hotel - features decor in its two dining rooms that will seem familiar to you, and you won’t be wrong, some elements are inspired by the carriages of the Orient Express. For the warmer season, there is also a panoramic terrace overlooking the city. From the open kitchen, Chefs Andrew Borg andDavid Tantioffer a selection of dishes from a limited menu, blending creativity with international flair. While the selection may seem limited, the quality is anything but: it is of a very high standard. Notably, the refined raw amberjack accompanied by a touch of sea urchin and a hint of preserved fennel, finished at the table with a delightful and frothy Sicilian pink grapefruit cream, is exceptional. The dessert menu features just one option, but it consists of 2 or 3 very indulgent and well-prepared tastings (the whisky zabaglione with butter-soaked brioche for dipping is fabulous)." - Michelin Inspector

Food quality in Malta is generally high, and our expectations for a Michelin-starred restaurant were accordingly elevated — but we left a bit disappointed. The tuna carpaccio starter was good, though very small portion. The sea bream main course, however, was dominated by a very strong sauce that completely masked the delicate flavor of the fish. Overall, the sauces tended to overpower rather than complement the dishes. On a positive note, the setting is stunning, with an amazing view and a distinctive, elegant décor. Service was attentive and professional throughout.

An absolutely fantastic experience! The service was exceptional, with everything flowing so smoothly and the open kitchen operating in near silence but so efficiently too. I opted for the Carte Blanche menu, which was 6-courses chosen by the kitchen from the wider menu. Except, I wasn’t just served 6-courses but many others before and after too! You certainly will not leave hungry. The wine was delicious, my water glass never empty and despite dining solo I didn’t feel awkward or excluded at any moment. True Michelin star service! I booked online where only the kitchen counter was available, but was offered a table on the balcony when I arrived which was perfect.

Celebrated new year last night. The service and food was amazing but I can't give 5 stars as they had made the unreasonable decision to not make cocktails. I mean it's pricy and we spent alot of money there....Dissappointing!

A truly unforgettable experience at Le GV Rooftop Restaurant in Malta. I chose the 6-course surprise tasting menu with wine pairing - and every bite, every sip was nothing short of extraordinary. The amuse-bouche, a delicate take on a vinaigrette, was a bold and flavorful opening. The fish course, paired beautifully with tender carrots, was refined and balanced. But the real stars? The wines. An Austrian Riesling followed by a German Pinot Noir - both carefully selected and perfectly paired. As a self-proclaimed wine snob, I was genuinely impressed. Bravo to the sommelier - a true artist. The team behind the magic deserves special praise. They work tirelessly, gracefully, with bent backs and focused hearts. You can feel the effort in every gesture and plate. Their dedication is humbling. Yes, it is warm on the rooftop in the height of July - but come September or October, this place must be absolute heaven. The chamomile mousse for dessert? Unforgettable - a dessert to remember for a lifetime. Bravo again.

Celebrated our 6th wedding anniversary in this restaurant. All staff are so helpful and communicative. We had 6 courses menu with the classic pairing wine. And we are so satisfied with everything.

An exceptional experience and one of the nicest Michelin restaurants we've ever dined at. Luckily we were seated at the chefs table and right in front row, unique experience watching all the dishes being assembled and brought out 😁 chef and waiting staff were all very nice and explained everything in great detail, with every course being delicious. Highly recommend to anyone in the area - few other Michelin experiences caught our interest as this one did!

Very underwhelming experience. Everything was very expensive for nothing. For a Michelin-starred restaurant, the food lacked flavor and creativity. Not a single dish stood out or made any impression. Even the first course, which was cold, took an unusually long time to arrive. The restaurant wasn’t full, yet the pacing was painfully slow. We spent 5 hours at the table, waiting for each course. There were only two cocktails options on the menu, and when we asked for a classic one, they told us they didn’t have a bar and couldn’t make anything else. So we assumed the two listed cocktails must be something special but no. What we got was flat, served with zero presentation. On top of that, we spent the whole evening swatting away mosquitoes. There was no sense of magic, no moment that made it feel worth it. Sadly, we left feeling disappointed and like we had wasted both time and money. I wouldn’t recommend it. We took the surprise menu of 6 dishes and none of them was worth the wait and price.

We visited this restaurant for my birthday and we couldn’t have been happier. The ambiance was lovely, with a cozy, warm, charming and welcoming environment. Every dish was crafted with remarkable attention to detail, delivering flavours that are both refined and unforgettable. Each dish was carefully prepared and beautifully presented. Our food was fresh, original, creative and tasteful, where the flavours and techniques used were just exquisite. The love for food and experimenting with flavours is felt through every bite. The service was attentive and knowledgeable, enhancing the luxurious ambiance. Well done to all the chefs and the team! It was excellent Michelin-star-level culinary experience. I highly recommend it!
