"The rooftop restaurant on the eleventh floor of the 1926 Le Soleil hotel, with its name being the acronym for Le Grand Voyage, features decor in its two dining rooms that will seem familiar to you, and you won’t be wrong, some elements are inspired by the carriages of the Orient Express. For the warmer season, there is also a panoramic terrace overlooking the city. From the open kitchen, Chef Andrew Borg offers a selection of dishes from a limited menu, blending creativity with international flair. While the selection may seem limited, the quality is anything but: it is of a very high standard. Notably, the refined raw amberjack accompanied by a touch of sea urchin and a hint of preserved fennel, finished at the table with a delightful and frothy Sicilian pink grapefruit cream, is exceptional. The dessert menu features just one option, but it consists of 2 or 3 very indulgent and well-prepared tastings (the whisky zabaglione with butter-soaked brioche for dipping is fabulous)." - Michelin Inspector

Very underwhelming experience. Everything was very expensive for nothing. For a Michelin-starred restaurant, the food lacked flavor and creativity. Not a single dish stood out or made any impression. Even the first course, which was cold, took an unusually long time to arrive. The restaurant wasn’t full, yet the pacing was painfully slow. We spent 5 hours at the table, waiting for each course. There were only two cocktails options on the menu, and when we asked for a classic one, they told us they didn’t have a bar and couldn’t make anything else. So we assumed the two listed cocktails must be something special but no. What we got was flat, served with zero presentation. On top of that, we spent the whole evening swatting away mosquitoes. There was no sense of magic, no moment that made it feel worth it. Sadly, we left feeling disappointed and like we had wasted both time and money. I wouldn’t recommend it. We took the surprise menu of 6 dishes and none of them was worth the wait and price.

An exceptional experience and one of the nicest Michelin restaurants we've ever dined at. Luckily we were seated at the chefs table and right in front row, unique experience watching all the dishes being assembled and brought out 😁 chef and waiting staff were all very nice and explained everything in great detail, with every course being delicious. Highly recommend to anyone in the area - few other Michelin experiences caught our interest as this one did!

We visited this restaurant for my birthday and we couldn’t have been happier. The ambiance was lovely, with a cozy, warm, charming and welcoming environment. Every dish was crafted with remarkable attention to detail, delivering flavours that are both refined and unforgettable. Each dish was carefully prepared and beautifully presented. Our food was fresh, original, creative and tasteful, where the flavours and techniques used were just exquisite. The love for food and experimenting with flavours is felt through every bite. The service was attentive and knowledgeable, enhancing the luxurious ambiance. Well done to all the chefs and the team! It was excellent Michelin-star-level culinary experience. I highly recommend it!

We had a delightful intimate birthday dinner. The food was exquisite and the restaurant was extremely accommodating with allergies and dietary restrictions. The Maître d’ delivered extraordinary service that I’ve never experienced in Malta before, both professional and extremely friendly. I only have one small request for my future visits - please get a bottle of Don Julio or Patron silver 😉

We went for a late valentine's dinner and ordered one vegetarian and one regular 4 course dinner plus added on the cheese dessert. This was one of the best food experiences we've ever had. We also added the wine pairing which was so worth it. The sommelier Brayan knows his stuff and showcased some amazing wines that match perfectly with the dishes. We went for the standard pairing and it was great. They offer a premium one as well, that will be for the next time. We will be back, that's for sure!

One of the best experiences. I am one who's choosing very carefully the places where are dining during the trips. We choosed the restaurant from many other good places in Malta. Taste, chef's, service, wine list, all. It's a must have that restaurant in your portofolio. Well done and respect for your great job!!

Packed like sardines on Valentine's Day was never going to bring a great experience; I felt for the team; clearly they bravely held things together from the front of house through to the kitchen team. The food quality was a high standard with the exception of a grapefruit hollandaise with one of the starter course which just didn't work at all. Otherwise all was perfectly executed given feeding 20 covers at the same time over the course of 3 hours via what seemed to be an under populated kitchen team. The service was also professional but friendly even though the gaps between courses became uncomfortable; we opted for four courses but the couple millimeters away from us went for 6 and as we left at 11:30pm after arriving after them at 8 they were just getting their 'main' dishes. The two millimeters away on the other side bizarrely just spent the whole 3 hours staring a their phones and adjusting their makeup in the mirror before largely not eating what was served to them. Also a bit weird was on ordering a very nice bottle of white wine was warned twice they only had one left. We aren't in the habit of ordering a bottle of wine each for dinner !! Maybe our British accents betrayed a national stereotype we luckily don't ascribe to! We will probably come back but at well over £200 per person will be over lunch when the views can work their magic and the rest of the diners are there not because they have to be rather than they want to be.

We had a fantastic dinner here for Women's Day. The dishes were absolutely exquisite with top-notch service. They took care of my partners dietary preferences with no issues. I can also highly recommend the wine pairing with great guidance and descriptions from the sommelier.
