"A vineyard (515ha, no less!), a five-star hotel and spa, a MICHELIN-starred restaurant and an organic vegetable garden. It's in this idyllic setting, where Provence meets Tuscany, that chef Louis Rameau and pastry chef Éric Raynal work in tandem. They celebrate the local produce of the Haut-Varois terroir with vegetables, herbs and flowers from the kitchen garden, as well as olive oil and wine from the estate. The cheeses and other ingredients, delicately and skilfully prepared, are also organic and sourced from the best producers in the region: heirloom tomato French toast, roasted tomato and thyme vinaigrette; smoked squid, sorrel cream and Provence chilli pepper; fruity green olive oil, honey and olive oil madeleine, olive oil cream, all presented and served by a cordial front-of-house team who excel in their craft. Open evenings only." - Michelin Inspector

Le Jardin de Berne – Lorgues - a MICHELIN Guide Restaurant

"A vineyard (1,000 hectares no less!), a five-star hotel with a spa, a Michelin-starred restaurant and a vegetable garden: this half Provençal, half Tuscan edifice is home to chef Louis Rameau, formerly second chef here. He sings an ode to the Upper Var thanks to garden vegetables, herbs and flowers and wine and olive oil from the estate. The cheeses and other ingredients are local and organic: ‘scatter-brained’ leek with a velvety lemon and saffron sabayon, confit of lamb in a bread crust or a mind-blowing chocolate delight by fiendishly talented pastry chef éric Raynal. Open evenings only." - Michelin Inspector

The food was incredible, so aromatic, beautifully presented, and full of flavour. The service was warm and attentive, and it really made the evening special. Amin, Bonaventure, and the chef were all so nice and made us feel truly welcome. Thank you to the whole team for such a memorable experience.

As locals, we ate here with friends, who were staying on the estate, on our recomendation and it was a dissapointing experience. Whilst most of the meal was very good and well presented we did have several issues: Service was slow (4 hours) and the staff were too intrusive The main meat course of three (small) lamb cuts had one portion which was just fat & grisle. The waitress said "that is normal for that cut" When my wife (diabetic) asked for cheese and sorbet instead of the two sweet desserts on the 5 course menu, there was a debate about whether this was permitted before eventually it was allowed. As an aside, we found the signage around the estate, and in the hotel, very poor. When we mentioned this the following day, when collecting our friends, the response was "yes we know" Overall, not a Michelin experience and we would not return

After 10 days in the south of France and many Michelin restaurants this week and all over the world, I can say this was the absolute best! Honestly one of the best meals of our lives! Every bite and every course and even between courses was outstanding. The chateau is so beautiful and everything was perfect from start to finish. The lovely sommelier helped us find delicious champagne and wine and I cannot recommend this place enough! Superb!

It is a one star Michelin restaurant. The food was amazing. The waiter dropped a knife on my husband but apart from that the service was professional. You have to remember to say what you dislike in the dishes otherwise you might end up having something you don’t like. This is what happen with dessert with us. Actually it us the same restaurant where guests of the hotel have their breakfast. One would think the decoration would be more special.

Five star culinary experience. Every component of each course was prepared with expertise and attention to detail that resulted perfection. With every bite you since your meal was foraged from an organic garden full of flavors, colors and textures to delight the senses. The front of the house was just as excellent. As an added bonus and surprise the staff was very kind to accommodate a dairy allergy at our table. Would highly recommend making a special trip to this gem if you are in the Provence region.

Should be 2 star. Its my second visit since two years ago before the 'new' chefs took over and I was utterly floored by how much improved it was. This is food of the highest level, the story around the food is impressive and centre stage. The service and the atmosphere created are impeccable. Our sommelier and waiter were both completely lovely and made us feel at home at our table from 7pm when we arrived right until 11:30pm when we left. The wine that was recommended was perfect and right within what we had asked for. The wine list itself is a biblical catalogue and all greatly selected. The food itself is stuff you would not find in other michelin restaurants, who can often take too much inspiration from eachother. Original and delicious! Seriously the best restaurant I've been to this year. Go as soon as possible.

Good lunch, all dishes tasty and highlighting excellent local produce. Lamb & its 48 hour tomatoes was especially remarkable, as were the raspberry pistachio soufflé and the chocolate as well. However, we would have liked a little less sauce/fat/salt — chef’s previous restaurant Cote Rue had a much more balanced cuisine. Beautiful location. Drinks are overpriced (especially water), and sommelier was not adding any value or trying to enhance our meal experience — did not even provide any comments on the castle’s own wines. Probably a tad ambitious to aim for a second Michelin star already, needs to nail the basics first (and not lose the first!).
