Le Jardin Les Crayères

"The little sister of the Château les Crayères, housed in an outbuilding in the park, is a smart, very contemporary and elegant brasserie with its own veranda and terrace just opposite the herb garden. Flavoursome seasonal cooking." - Michelin Inspector

Overrated – beautiful location, but the rest falls short I had high expectations for this restaurant, especially given its reputation and the stunning location – and while the setting truly is beautiful, that alone doesn’t make up for the overall experience. The food was just okay. What really disappointed me was how dietary restrictions were handled: instead of offering an alternative sauce or adjustment for allergies or intolerances, the kitchen simply left the sauce off the dish. That’s a lazy solution in a place of this price range. My husband had a steak, which unfortunately was quite sinewy and tough – not what you’d expect at this level. Speaking of prices – the champagne list is severely overpriced, even by Reims standards. There are far better options in the area for both quality and value. Service was initially very attentive, but once we placed our order, it felt like we were forgotten. Getting follow-up attention or even a second glass of Champagne became a challenge. Overall, it felt more like style over substance – definitely not the standout dining experience it aims to be.

The environment is great. Food presentation is great. But our main course fish is over cooked. The dessert s amazing. The soup is good too.

The white asparagus with Sabayon was absolutely delicious! My favorite dish of the evening. Good value for the quality, especially when doing the chef’s menu or spring menu. Nice touch serving wines by the glass from a Magnum!

I had lunch at Le Jardin La Brasserie after being blown away by their gastro restaurant, which was absolutely phenomenal. The sunny terrace is fantastic, perfect for soaking up the good weather. The food is good but noticeably a step below the gastro, which is to be expected. That said, I found it quite classic, lacking the creativity that stood out at the gastro. The atmosphere is lively, even noisy, with a big crowd. The staff is professional but can come across as a bit self-important—relax, it’s a brasserie, not a gastro!

Google
Not worth it. Place sure looks nice but its almost like a factory. So many people. Portions are super small, they taste good, but definitely not what you’d expect from such a place. Wines are also way too overpriced. If you don’t mind paying too much for too little food and you just want to sit at a “famous” place then its okay. Also, prepare for MANY bugs, at one point there were 5 flies in my glass of champagne. Service is nice but are not too familiar with the menu if you ask them questions.

For me, it was exactly what we wanted in a delightful experience. The customer service was impeccable, the food was amazing, and I asked the team to pair the wine which was excellent. It’s a fancy place that feels both friendly and refined. Plus the location is very comfortable. Highly recommended!

We had reserved this place as part of our Champagne tour, we took a break between champagne tasting and had lunch there. The beautiful weather made it that much better! The food was so good, we ordered the asparagus with citrus sauce, the paté, cod, veal and beef steaks. Everything was perfection! Would absolutely go back for more. ✨️☀️

Yelp
Food was okay. Staff was pretentious and rude to Americans. This was our last day on a 5 day trip in France and our only poor experience. Go into town and eat literally anywhere else instead.

Yelp
An amazing food experience, and I'm glad i experienced a Michelin restaurant. The service was prompt, polite, and attentive. They booked a car for us so we could get to the train station. The food was delicious, carefully cooked, and just the right portion size. The dessert was to die for, and the champagne was light and effervescent on the tongue. It's a beautiful brassiere, and I'm glad I had the opportunity to dine here.

Yelp
Lovely lunch in the brasserie, le Jardin, of Les Crayeres. I made Saturday lunch reservations online in advance. We parked on the tree-lined boulevard and walked in. We were seated outside under an umbrella. Everything was delicious, fresh, and the wine helped us forget the heat of July. I ordered a la carte after seeing the set menus, he went with the Jardin menu (31e). I had: - Pan fried foie gras appetizer - Turbot fish with seaweed (butter?) - Strawberry panna cotta I would definitely return if I was in the area again.

Yelp
We had a delightful lunch at "Le Jardin" after touring the Taittinger cellars. We had to search for a place to eat, and we were definitely under dressed for this spot. La Brasserie is located on a property with beautiful gardens, and a hotel. There is also an even fancier spot to eat. I believe this is a place where locals, particularly business people go for lunch. We sat outside in the sweltering heat, but we thoroughly enjoyed our lunch. I had the goat cheese stuffed artichokes with duck on top. They were delicious, and the presentation was beautiful. We also tried the dessert which was also very good. I would love to return again, and this time would dress more appropriately.

Yelp
Food is ok, service is rude and not worth the pain. While we loved the ambiance, our waiter was unpleasant. In fact, he rushed us to order, was impatient and short and made our dining experience at your restaurant a bad one, very honestly. He rolled his eyes and never smiled and really appeared to not want us dining there. It was very odd and uncomfortable for our family of four on our last night in France. We chose Les Crayeres Le Jardin to be that great place to celebrate with our two daughter. Instead we left shaking our head and sorry we chose Les Crayeres. We met so many extremely pleasant & nice French people during our time in France and went to so many superb restaurants. We went on Wed June 19th at 9pm and the waiter was about 6' or so, around 50 years old with dark hair and a scowl. There are so many places in Reims where they ownership actually wants and values patrons I would look elsewhere for dinner.

Yelp
We attempted to try this establishent in 2016, we were quickly whisked away because we didn't have reservations at a noon time in Holiday season (August). We were left to eat Pringles in the train station because the remainder of the town was closed. We will return to Reims to visit Veuve Clicquot and Taittinger but not this pretentious establishent that believes they are better than any of their customers.

Yelp
Great food in the outskirts of Reims by the Veuve-Clicquot cellars. We had cod with vegetables and the 47 euro menu (4 dishes). I liked what she had, but I loved mine :) Would come back

Yelp
Amazing food in the heart of Reims! After a tour of the Taittinger house, my friends and I went for our reservations at Le Jardin. The menu was short, but packed with dishes that sounded amazing off the descriptions alone. There were two Prix Fixe specials in effect, too, but they were fish-focused and I don't like fish so I passed. My meal was amazing: a fine Rose sparkling aperitif, succulent foie gras, an amazing steak, and an even better Mango Cheesecake were the highlights of the meal. The veggies that came with the steak left much to be desired, the cheese selection was too footy for my (inexperienced) palate, and oddly enough, the bar didn't know how to make a Sazerac or Manhattan cocktail! That was a disappointment but the service was friendly and accommodating (my group was the last to leave. AND we were loud Americans? They were so nice to not rush us out) and the staff helped all the way up to ordering a cab for us. Next time I'm in Reims (this time to visit Clicquot), I'm dining at Le Jardin.

Yelp
We visited after we were engaged and came back one year later we loved it so much (lunch). The service is top tier without being pretentious. So, the food....unreal. From the snack, to bread, to the main courses, you will not be disappointed. We tried the vegetables and Sea Bass which were simple Devine. Lastly, we ordered a cheese plate and the waiter brought out a table and a cheese wheel and hand crafted our cheese per person. Yet...one can't forget the champagne list which is extensive. We had the house bubbly and it was amazing. I was able to make a reservation weeks out and I would suggest you do so as well. The dress is nice even for lunch (slacks/button up shirt) at a minimum. We were a bit underdressed as we walked across town but they understood. Thanks to Thea's staff and chef, amazing!

Yelp
Was recommended this restaurant before our tour of Veuve clicquet however we arrived we were asked if we spoke English then politely told it was a private lunch. Oh well

Yelp
This was one of my favorite meals on my recent visit to France. We sat outside for the meal and though it was a really hot day, I was able to forget about the temperature because of the delicious meal. I ordered the tomato salad which was divine, and had sea bass with a champagne sauce that I devoured. We also had a few glasses of rose and really over stayed our welcome (we were waiting for the next champagne house tour) but they were very patient with us. If I were to have the chance, I would love to come back to eat here again.

Yelp
I've had lunch here twice and it's always solid. A good place for a business lunch or for just friends/social stuff. The dishes tend to use fresh and local ingredients and sometime playful interpretations of classic dishes.

Yelp
I really loved this place during lunch hour. It's hidden behind the giant chateau so you would pretty much not know it's there unless you're a local. The entire outdoor seating is set in the garden (obviously), and it felt absolutely whimsical. The food is good, but the reason to come is to enjoy champagne outside in that beautiful, secluded garden
