"Located in a quiet street, this compact restaurant has an intimate feel. Breton chef Stéphane Pitré simultaneously pays homage to his father, grandfather and great-grandfather, all named Louis. He devises set menus with several courses comprising small portions (or three courses for a quick lunch). Aligned with market availability and seasonality, this cuisine is packed with Asian influences. For a bistro experience, head for Le Cellier, which serves simple, straightforward cuisine just two houses down the street." - Michelin Inspector

Wow! What an amazing experience and I was lucky enough to dine here twice during my trip. I met the owner Celine, who was an absolute delight. She made me feel welcomed and at home. She even remembered my name! How incredibly sweet. The first night I came by for dinner with no reservation (it was so busy but the service was still amazing), I was able to take advantage of the beautiful evening weather and dine outdoors. I ordered the truffle risotto with scallops and it was divine. It was one of my favourite meals in Paris. Celine's son(?) was adorable, he brought me the menu and cutlery. I had creme brulee and it was creamy and smooth. The second time I dined here was for lunch and I wanted to experience the dining room. It was so lovely and what a cozy vibe. I ordered the steak frites and it was delicious, perfect medium rare. I will definately be back next year and cannot wait for that risotto again. Thanks so much for making me feel at home, Celine. I really appreciate your genuinity and kindness. MERCI BEAUCOUP!!!

Our family was captivated by this charming restaurant and dining experience! We were there on a Friday night, no reservation... we waited a short time and were seated outside... someone who is a regular patron of Le Louis had been waiting for this outside table, and they graciously offered it to our family of four, as we were visiting and this was our first time at Le Louis. The excellent food, the warm hospitality, the culinary knowledge, the vibrant joy, the attention, the intention, the service, the ambience... all combined for a magical experience. We dream of going back...

One of the most amazing places I've been to on my recent trip to Paris! The frog legs and risotto were the best food I've had during my stay there. I loved the live music and the cozy decor of the restaurant. The owner is a very kind and cheerful person, it was like meeting an old friend after a long time, even though we've never even met. Out of all the places in Paris I will miss this one the most.

Google
Visited Le Louis, and it was immediately noticeable that the waitress’s attitude felt somewhat condescending, as if she was looking down on the guests. It gave off an air of disdain, which didn’t align with the simple intent to try the local specialty — frog legs. The prices, though typical for the area, didn’t justify the portion sizes, which were quite small. In Paris, you can definitely find places offering better quality and more generous portions of the same dish for the same price.

I happened upon this little restaurant quite by accident on my first day back in Paris and had a wonderful solo lunch outside welcomed by the lovely owner. I returned two weeks later on a Friday night with a friend who said it was the best dinner of her trip to Paris! The owner was not there but her team is perfect. We loved the food and the entertainment...chatted with Scott, the very talented pianist. This might just be my new favorite too...such a great story. I'll be in touch to book again very soon.

What a fantastic find in central Paris! Host is amazing and more than willing to share her local favourite places to enhance our stay! Food was superb. We were lucky enough to get a booking for brunch on a Sunday morning as well as dinner! A must for any foodie!!

Google
We made a little investigation through the restaurants in Paris, who cooked frog’s legs, and we chose this small, cute restaurant. We weren’t disappointed. We are so glad to visit it. The food was delicious, the service is very quick, a waiting time was low. The prices are reasonable. There are no many tables and the restaurant is always full of clients. But we were happy to get a table almost before the restaurant closed. The kitchen is right behind the bar table, so you can see how two talented cooks prepare your dish. The restaurant is located in the city center, not far away from the Louvre museum. It’s easy to get here buy common transportation or taxi service. The interior of restaurant is made in interesting style of Louis 4 🙂. The dishes were delicious. We had frog’s legs and ravioli snails with calvados. The owner of this awesome restaurant is kind and super hospitable woman. She serves you with your order and do this job with love. She with her professional team made a present for us cause we had our wedding anniversary. It was a big surprise for us. We appreciate her so much. Definitely she loves her restaurant, her job, her team, her clients. She can make a pleasant conversation with everybody like she knows everybody for a long time. Visiting of this restaurant was like a pearl of our vacation in Paris. We love it. Hope to get there again. Definitely recommend!

We did enjoy our excellent lunch with friends here thanks to the hospitality and quality of the menu. It gives us a feeling to come back again next time when we visit The Church St. Eustache and its surroundings.

Yelp
We stumbled upon this restaurant by accident but I have to say it was the best meal we had in Paris. They only had menu du jour on Mondays, so we were confined to just 2 appetizers, 2 entrees and 2 dessert. For under 25 euros each, that's an unbeatable deal though. My husband said he loved the tomato's and he doesn't even like tomatoes. Their ingredients were fresh, the taste was perfect and the portions were pretty large. If we ever visit Paris again, I would totally go there again!

Yelp
Waitstaff can be a bit rude if you're not a regular (we saw several walk in during lunch) but the entrees were superb (delightful risotto and beef pasta). We came here to try frog legs which received great reviews but they only had a limited menu (sans frog legs, unfortunately).

Yelp
Great service and excellent food! I highly recommend this quaint little restaurant. Be sure to save room for dessert, yum! It was such a lovely evening!

Yelp
Charming little place with great food and a cozy atmosphere. I recommend the risotto with scallops (or legumes). * Crème brûlée has lemon in it, which everyone at my table found undesirable. This is the only thing I didn't like on the menu (and we tried a lot of things).

Yelp
We found this place on line and made a reservation for 7:30. We we arrived the restaurant was dark, but we were quickly greeted and seated. The decor is timber and plaster on one side and brick on the other, very cozy and warm. Along with a great bottle of wine we enjoyed crunchy snails for a starter and grilled prime rib to share. The prime rib was finished by grilling at the table. Great hidden location with great atmosphere, service and food. Highly recommended.

Yelp
It's an amazing place. The food was fantastic, and the best glass of wine that I have tried in Paris. The service was excellent.

Yelp
Our friends recommended this place and we were not disappointed. While it was not busy while we went, the lady said the night before was crazy so I would recommend making reservations just incase. The menu just changed a few days before we got there and let me tell you...the Tuna Tartare, Risotto, Gnocchi and red Sensair is a great drink pairing. The location is easy to get to and is super cute! I love the inside of the place. Everything is made right when you order it so don't expect a quick meal. Great place for a date spot or to take very small group to. We will for sure be back!

Yelp
We ate here with our 6 year old son and loved it! The food was excellent and they were very kid friendly, and gave him coloring items, and made him off menu kid friendly chicken. The atmosphere was so cute and quaint. I would recommend it to anyone visiting the city. We are American and they helped us out with all of the translating. A definite must!

Yelp
I came here last night with my cousin and few other people and would like to say I was blown away. I find a lot of restaurants to be tourist traps because of the heavy tourism. I would like to say this place is nothing like it. Let's start with the appetizers, I ordered escargot and my husband frog legs. It was delicious. Perfect amount of butter and seasoning balance the freshness and quality was perfection. The main entree same thing and the dessert .... Wow, I had creme Brûlée WOWWWW it was THE best brûlée I have ever had! It was so creamy and fresh you can taste the light VANILA which by the way I think was real not fake because I could see the VAnilla spots in the dessert, it was so light and just wow creamy and eggy ... Everyone was blowed away because we shared it. The atmosphere of the restaurant was fantastic and the decor a bit of eccentric meets old french provincial... It was super quaint and cute. Def recommend to check out.

Yelp
I feel obliged to post a dissenting opinion. The food here may be exquisite, but I couldn't stick around long enough to find out. The main dining area is extremely bright. Decor blah. Ambience terrible. Service was abysmal. I don't know if I've ever actually left a restaurant before ordering before. Until Le Louis. Was rescued by an absolutely delightful spot down the street.

Yelp
Visited Paris from the US. This place was really tasty and there was a lovely piano player. Great ambiance and nice people working. Prices weren't too bad either

Yelp
Fantastic experience! The food was amazing and the ambience completely finished our evening. Thank you Celine!

Yelp
We really enjoyed dining at Le Louis our last night in Paris. The food was delicious and the personalized service was memorable. We also really enjoyed the piano playing and singing of Scott Sontag, who has a great repertoire for fine dining and is very good at modifying the volume based on the energy in the room. The food was delicious! I enjoyed the duck and my dining companion loved his steak. We opted for a cheese course - great choice - rather than an entree (appetizer in France). The cafe gourmand was the way to go for dessert with the creme brulee and chocolate mousse both being divine options, and the fresh fruits were a refreshing accompaniment. Watching Celine, the owner, work, and enjoying the eclectic decor with a view of the busy kitchen made for an entertaining, enjoyable, memorable evening.

Yelp
The best dining experience I've had in Paris - everything from the food, to the service, to the atmosphere all together created a truly wonderful meal. There is nothing like eating a well cooked duck with a glass of wine listening to a pianist play la vie en rose to make you really appreciate Paris. Highly recommend booking this place because you don't want to miss out.

Fastastic! Excellent food, great service with a personalized touch (thank you Celine) in a very comfortable atmosphere. Highly recommended!!!

Yelp
My husband and I went to this lovely, intimate restaurant 10 days ago based on the reviews we read in Yelp. We were not disappointed. The hostess/waitress was very attentive and although we did not speak French, she helped us with our selections and offered wine suggestions as well. Nothing is rushed, all food is cooked to order and the atmosphere is relaxed. My husband experienced frogs legs for the first time! They were tasty and moist.....not overdone. We both enjoyed them! For the main course, I had an outstanding meal of grilled lamb chops with pepper sauce and grilled young vegetables. A lovely presentation! My husband raved about the roasted duck breast with raspberry sauce and a tian of vegetables. Very tender and flavorful. Of course we had to try their desserts! He had the chocolate mousse, very yummy. But mine was the best! A sampling of mini versions of main desserts.....crime brûlée, chocolate mousse and a strawberry cheesecake!! A great end to a wonderful dinner.

Yelp
A rare and unique treasure our little group happened upon. From the starters to the deserts, every bite was wonderful. The cozy restaurant had a warm and exceptionally welcoming and accommodating staff. We could watch the chef as he prepared our meals. We ate until we could barely move. Only one phrase describes this jewel, "Tres magnifique!"
google avatar

Wid A.

Yelp
The food was prepared well (the duck was amazing!) and very reasonably priced. The restaurant was very cosy and filled up very quickly. Do not expect a fast meal...the restaurant opening was delayed until 7:30 pm and we were not able to get our check until 9:30 pm.

Yelp
Went here for dinner last March. This review is way overdue. The food and ambiance are wonderful. Located off a small quite street and serving locals. The owner was there and very friendly. The steak was fantastic. According to my son the best he has ever had. It's been a year and he still talks about that steak. Hope to come back someday to enjoy another meal.

Yelp
We found this place from the many good reviews at trip advisor. But the experience was quite negative... the appetizers (fried snails and cold soup) were reasonable but the steak, though well cooked, was completely unbeatable with a lot of gristles.

Jonathan P.

Yelp
We had two wonderful dinners at Le Louis during a visit to Paris. We were lucky enough to be staying nearby and found Le Louis by happy accident--the happiest of accidents. (While we were waiting for dinner the first night we overheard another couple explaining they had been back three times.) The food was all exquisite--wonderful salad with bacon and egg, the veal, duck, beef, desserts...all delicious. But it is the atmosphere and warm welcome that stood out. And on Friday we enjoyed Scot's piano playing, which was tasteful (and high quality!). We are already planning our return visit next time we are in Paris.

Yelp
A must try if you want some excellent French food and a nice romantic experience in a small family-owned establishment. The food was all super fresh and very tasty. I highly recommend trying the frog legs and the steak fritte. If you get here early enough I would try the steak tartare and creme brûlée, but they ran out since we arrived around 930pm for dinner.

Yelp
Great traditional french place that is off any main streets...we resorted to this place as it was only 1.5 blocks from our hotel and it Qs absolutely fabulous! We were happy with out last meal in Paris. Great lamb shank that fell off the bone once I touched it and solid SeaBass dish.

Yelp
Tonight we enjoyed a meal that we will remember for a lifetime. I brought my wife and her sister to Paris for the first time, and we dined at Le Louis. I used to live here 15 years ago and I fell in love with Paris. So I was overjoyed when Celine and her staff lovingly cared for us like we were family. The food was succulent and delicate, perfectly paired with delicious velvety wine and of course the desserts, a notch above! And the champagne...ahhh the champagne. We were treated to wonderful French and American piano music throughout the meal at the perfect volume to fill the atmosphere and set the mood. Plenty of laughter, a few tears(of joy), friends old and new, a special night to remember. So French, so wonderful, and so Paris. Merci!

Yelp
Caucasians friendly restaurant recommended! We went for dinner last night at this restaurant. The food was tasty but the hidden discrimination from the staff was horrible. We could surely see the smile and kindness from the staff to other Caucasians no matter whether they speak in French or not. However, the services we received couldn't be more than basic. No one asked us how we would like them to cook our steak and we saw the staff asked the other Caucasians next to us and even properly handled this giant steak for them in front of us. What's the worst, my sister tried to give them a rating at TripAdvisor in the end and the staff even looked at her screen and questioned why she gave one star only. I guess she never expected we actually speak in English and we know how to tell Asians in the world never come to this restaurant to make her truly happy forever. Again, Caucasians friendly restaurant recommended. 亞洲人請不要來,這是一個依客人膚色決定服務程度的餐廳,根本不值4.9!!!

Yelp
The celery soup was the soup of the day when my husband and I ate here a few evenings ago, and it was out of this world delicious. We both had the scallop risotto as well for a main dish and that was very, very good as well. I had a glass of the bordeaux with my meal, it was delightful. We were too full for dessert, but wish we could have partaken. Perhaps next time. Two thumbs up!

Yelp
Really good food, lovely place, one of the best "foie gras and magret de canard" in Paris

Bob B.

Yelp
We popped in without a reservation and were pleasantly surprised. The wine was good and our fish dishes were tasty, although unremarkable from the standpoint of presentation. The service was wonderful -- one woman seemed to command the whole floor and she was attentive and patient as we bounced between English and our limited French. Midway through our meal the piano player popped in and livened up the atmosphere.

Jeramy I.

Yelp
Excellent service and food. Great recommendation - the chef soup and duck breast were excellent.

Yelp
My husband and I stumbled on this gem of a restaurant and couldn't get enough of it! We visited three nights in a row! Great food, great atmosphere, GREAT SERVICE! Highly recommend.

Yelp
Wonderful food and atmosphere. We enjoyed several meals ar le Louis during our visit to Paris and enjoyed every minute. Fun piano music, Celine genuinely cares about each patron. Hope to return soon.

Heather H.

Yelp
Excellent quality food and service - English speaking as well. I had the steak which was cooked to perfection and served with a sauce/gravy that I couldn't get enough of! I kept dipping the steak and fries in it - so good! Highly recommend.

Chris L.

Yelp
Excellent French food. Wonderful service. Worth the stop if visiting Paris. Entrecôte was cooked well. The Magret was savory.

Greg G.

Yelp
Excellent traditional menu. Very crowded on a Wednesday evening. Server very nice. Service well paced. Risotto, fois gras, maigret de canard, cuisses de grenouilles all perfectly cooked. Not at all expensive for the quality.
