Absolutely loved the risotto and spumone dessert! Service was also great, the waiter spoke English really well.

A wonderful discovery near Nardò. We randomly discovered the place, and looking to the promising pictures we ended up betting on the menu. It didn’t disappointed. Ingredients were perfectly selected and fresh. We experienced a fish tartare which blossomed in the palate for the softness of the white fish. Then the pasta filled with aubergines was perfectly cooked and almost melting in the mouth with an explosion of flavours. Then a lovely streak that despite cooked without any fancy was perfectly selected for quality and maturity. Prices have been fair for the offer. In my experience of Salento food offer, Le Macare easily classify as one of the best and hidden gems in the area.

What an amazing dinner! Truly delicious food, from the antipasti through the desserts it was consistently amazing and cherry on the cake wonderful tasting of evo! I couldn’t recommend this place more especially since the price/quality ratio is perfect!

Amazing dinner with traditional recipes with an elevated take. Our waitress was efficient and kind, despite being a full house on Saturday night. Spaghetti con le cozze best I’ve ever had and we are still talking about the ricotta and pear dessert!!! 1000/10!

After four weeks in Italy in Rome and Apuglia, I’ve had cozze spaghetti at least seven times. This eighth time at Le Macàre was easily much better than the rest. The most generous serving of cozze was combined with a different kind of creamy sauce for an amazing flavour. I also tried the crustacean risotto with lemon. A very original flavour combined with lots of fish. This was preceded by lovely starters, including perfect meatballs, melanzane and red onions on crusty bread. Service was attentive and enthusiastic but not distracting. I think we are more likely to come to Alezio again when we next visit Italy because of Le Macàre.

It was simply the best restaurant we've visited in our time in Puglia, the food was to die for and the staff was very friendly, fast and obliging. The risotto was one of the best I've ever eaten in my entire life. The atmosphere was cosy, and the dessert La Nera was just heavenly. I strongly recommend it to anyone who visits Gallipolli or Puglia in general.

This is my favorite restaraunt in the county. There's a southern touch in the ingredients, the way the menu is designed and in the way the lovely staff welcome their clientele (you'll feel like at home in a second). At the same time, the dishes and flavors are modern in many ways. I love the onion bruschetta, the pitta and the meatballs in antipasti. My favorite dish is the uni pasta. Just incredible. The desserts are excellent as well. If you are in the area, this is a must
