This was the tastiest food we’ve tried!!! I got duck with honey and my boyfriend got beef steak with bone marrow. For starters we decided on escargot. It was so delicious, cooked precisely and the atmosphere in the restaurant was amazing!!! We will definitely be there again! <3

We met a friend here for dinner recently and found everything to be pretty good. Sea Bream was nicely prepared and tasted fine. Duck breast with honey was perfectly grilled and overall a really nice dish. Entrecote was ordered medium but was served uneven. Some of the beef was pink in the middle but quite a bit was rare as could be served. It was a fairly stringy beef steak as well. Would order something different next time around. Overall, liked the environs, service was friendly and timely. Meal generally good, would consider eating here again but would be just as happy trying other places in the area.

Pros: Cute little place with a good ambiance. No music - good for conversations. Staff were kind and warm (they speak English as well). Cons: Maybe a bit of renovation is needed (ripped and ducktaped chair/couches and shaky tables). We ordered our steal well-done. However, they came medium at best (pictures shared). Cheese platter could be served on a better plate or cutting board. Also, they changed the menu and don’t serve the meat with bone marrow anymore.

Google
made a reservation for dinner service and it absolutely didn’t disappoint! the food came out fast and while in the picture it doesn’t look the best, it was delicious and warm and comforting. we got the boeuf bourguignon and the poulet fermier roast chicken. for dessert, we split a chocolate mousse and a crème brûlée which were also solid! the staff was really kind and attentive as well! so happy we made it here!

First time in Paris and first time trying Authentic French food for me and my family . This restaurant became our favorite choice in a city full of amazing food . The owners were out and so friendly and quick and attentive . Service was phenomenal and the food was incredible ! The appetizers , the entrees and desserts were next level delicious and simple and fresh . Cannot say enough good things but forever to me , THIS place is the bar for French Cuisine .

Google
Very good overall. Albeit a tad small but most places in Paris are like this. The snails were great as was the bone marrow; the steak and duck confit were good too.

Google
Fantastic little restaurant. Good looking little street, awesome flavor. You cant go wrong. Service was awesome. You have to try beef bourginoun, chauteubriand, entrecote. We were not tired of eating there.

I've been to their sister restaurant, Le Bistro de Henri, which is just around the corner a number of times. But this was my first time at Le Machon de Henri. They're both small family-run run bistrots owned by the two sons of Mr. Henri, who started the business many decades ago. The food is home style cooking, like comfort food, and from start to finish is absolutely delicious. It's now added to my list of favorite Paris restaurants.

Yelp
We had one magical night in Paris and this was our dinner spot. It came recommended by someone and it didn't disappoint. It was a bit wild since some kind of sports ball game was happening that many people cared about, the windows were open so it felt like people flowed freely between the rue and the restaurant. There was a pub across the way, and it was LOUD. If this is an issue for you, be warned. For us, it added to our experience feeling like you are in the throngs of humanity and life all around you. While I'm not a sports person, I liked the vivacious energy. Food was delicious, service was friendly enough. We don't speak French, but they made it work!

Chris M.

Yelp
Make a reservation as they do not accept walk-ins, you have been warned, and on that note, let's talk about the nitty gritty. Our first night in Paris, we learned the hard way to take a Bolt to the Resturant only to find out they don't accept their walk-ins.... The second attempt was a go. I was able to book on their website. Our reservation was for 1PM. We arrived at a packed house, and the owner greeted us and then asked for our reservation time. LOL, he doesn't play. Once he confirmed our reservation, he sat us down with menus. He asked what we would like to drink in French, and when my wife asked for a Coke Zero, he almost died, LOL!!! Realizing we weren't French, he explained in English that in a restaurant such as his, you must first drink a red wine before anything else. So he poured us a glass each, and then he walked us through his starters. We picked the liver patty and goat cheese herbs and olive oil.. Both were yummy, especially with the bread! For the main courses, my wife ordered the ribeye medium with Potatoes Au Gratin and Bone Marrow. I wrnt more traditional with the Beouf Bourguignon, pommel vapeur (Beef Stew) My meal was hitting on all cylinders, especially with the red wine. My wife enjoyed her plate but did remark her steak was chewy, then she would like... Not dessert on these visits, and we had another place in mind... Overall, the experience was awesome. The owner made us feel really comfortable and was very fun to talk with. In such a tight establishment, he really makes everything come together. A definite must stop for lunch or dinner when in Paris.

Yelp
My wife and I had a fabulous time here on the trip we took for me to propose. The steak dish served with bone marrow is something I still dream about, and my wife feels the same about the duck and the wine (Santenay Clos des Gatsulards 2015 Louis Jadot Domaine Gagey)! Simply amazing and very memorable. Worth the wait! (On a crowded night we waited about an hour -- but wandered and viewed the local church and beautiful Parisian streets until then)

Yesha G.

Yelp
We arrived just as they opened, with no reservation. The host was able to seat us a party of 6, tucked away in the corner. The only downside is we were right next to the bathroom. Service wise it was good, he was accommodating and funny. Made us feel guilty for ordering a coke instead of wine haha. Food was quite filling. Escargot were perfectly cooked. Least favorite dish was the rib steak, nothing special about it. The lamb chops however were exquisite. Juicy and flavorful. Duck confit was delicious as well. Their most popular dish was the bourguignon stew, it was a very comforting dish. Too full to get dessert. The walk to the restaurant is pleasant, it's in a busy street with pubs and such. Full of life and never dead. It's a cute Parisian red building, small but hard to miss.

Kristy T.

Yelp
Came here on the first day of our trip! And it was not a disappointment! The servers were kind and helpful! We had ordered lamb and the their Beef bourguignon, which was tender!

Kevin D.

Yelp
Absolutely the best meal we had in all of Paris! I had the lamb shank and it was spectacular. My wife had beef bourguignonne and she was swooning. The owner was so friendly and we can't wait to go back!!!

Yelp
the food was good but the service was unpleasant. They gave us a reservation for 10:30 pm and when we arrived they told us to "hurry up." Our waiter coughed on our bread but one of the kind men near the bar gave us a new basket. They also were very rude while taking our order. Besides that, we enjoyed the meal. Steak was good and potatoes were tasty. However, hospitality could use some work.

Levi L.

Yelp
Very quaint and small restaurant that seats at max 30 people. Service was good and the food was tasty. My friends loved the lamb chops and steak with bone marrow while I enjoyed the beef bourginuon but felt the wine needed to be cooked out just a bit more. Very tasty otherwise.

Alexandria W.

Yelp
Le Machon d'Henri is one of the best French restaurants I've tried in Paris! The service is kind and welcoming, and the food is amazing as well. I got the beef bourguignon which was super flavorful and tasted amazing with the fresh baguette on the side. The only downside to this restaurant is that there is very limited seating inside, so unless you have a reservation you will need to wait a long time. Nonetheless, I think the wait is worth it to try this place!

Yelp
Sadly, this restaurant was a huge disappointment. We saved this restaurant for the final dinner of our trip; the reviews and photos had us drooling all week and we knew exactly what we wanted. The ribeye, bone marrow and scalloped potato stack. We even got there early and waited outside for 30 minutes, growing even more anticipation. The first red flag which honestly I don't even know why I didn't say anything, maybe I was still stuck dreaming about the delicious food from the pictures. But we were originally going to sit inside which I sat down at but then our group decided to sit outside. The napkin and cutlery on the table had a huge dead mosquito on it. As if the mosquito landed on the napkin and someone killed it with the fork and just left it there. I thought good thing we decided to move tables! But I should've just took the sign and left. Bone Marrow Appetizer - I was moooooost excited about this one! But it was flavorless, the texture was not good, it just felt like I was scooping flavorless oily jello clumps. It was borderline gross. I can't say no flavor enough - no season, no char, nothing. We really wanted to like this and even ended up taking some salt and sprinkling it on each bite to help, which it did a little but then we felt like we were consuming so much salt. Ribeye plate - This meat is tough! Not tender at all. Maybe that's how it is in Paris but definitely not what I'm used to. Hard to cut, and so hard to chew. Such a disappointment. Same flavorless piece of bone marrow. The scalloped potato was not bad in comparison to the other items, but nothing special either. Pass on this place! Don't be fooled by the pics. Even the pics I posted look amazing, but it was honestly not good.

Christy G.

Yelp
As Americans in Paris, we chose this restaurant for our "Thanksgiving " meal. It was decadent and delicious. Our picky 12 year old boy loved everything. We ordered steak with bone marrow and a potato stack to salmon with ratatouille, and ravioli. The location is small with few indoor tables so best to get a reservation.

Krystal M.

Yelp
I'm only giving this 4 stars because I'd have to go again to give it a 5. But I'll tell you it's a SOLID 4. There is very limited seating here so come early or wait patiently. It's definitely worth the wait. If you need an English menu they will provide you one and yes they do accept card. Now the food....we ordered the escargot it came without the shell in an amazing butter parsley sauce. The bone marrow we ordered did not disappoint it has amazing flavor and was plenty for two people, the goat cheese with honey..so good. My husband and I split the sea bass which came with a potato and a. Artichoke ratatouille. The bread that came to the table was warm and perfect for sopping up all the sauces. We ordered the basic rouge or red wine which was $17 a bottle. The service was amazing, the staff and owner checked in with us many times. Do yourself a favor and check this place out. Our total bill was $77.

Yelp
The bone marrow is excellent. One large bone, but the small bone has practically nothing. The male in charge and server is very dominant and I noticed that he didn't offer non-French the daily menu. The place is so small that I noticed the front was used for prep with refrigerator there and someone doing some prep work and interesting that some prep work done elsewhere with people bringing in items. The rognons (kidneys) were not good and cooked without any sauce. The menu doesn't listed price for glass of wine or carafe of wine. What made the experience not very pleasant was the person in charge and server who was not very welcoming. I noticed that most people were tourists. He treated French customers better than others. He was somewhat intimidating and loud. Not so pleasant experience. I would not go back there unless I wanted bone marrow.

Yelp
So after long day at Disneyland Paris and unable to catch a formal dinner because everything was fully booked. We decided to go back to the city to see what the food life is about. I had my mind set to go to Chez Fernand, a restaurant that I had heard of from a review on YouTube. When we arrived, it required a reservation and they were completely booked for the evening according to a male waiter. (Even though I saw a good amount of tables available inside and outside). Desperate for some food, my boyfriend saved the day by immediately finds a place literally across the street and from there began my love for the Le Machon d' Henri. I cannot explain how grateful me and my hangry stomach was when they said no reservation is needed. The atmosphere is small and cute with bottles of wine on the right side of the entrance. The waitress was super sweet and helpful and she assisted me to choose a wine for me and my boyfriend to share (he is not a wine drinker and he enjoyed it). This place has a personal touch so it's a wonderful place for you and your special someone. They immediately brought us water and a small dish of salami to the table to share. We ordered a bottle of wine and we shared a plate of bone marrow that came with wheat bread. Ughhh... So good!! The bone marrow had such a buttery taste with every bite! Sprinkle a pinch of salt for a razzle texture. Then we split a Beef stew dish which had meat, sliced carrots, mushrooms, and one more vegetable that I cannot pin point but it was delicious. Ughhh... So yum!! The beef was so tender and could easily be cut with a fork. I dipped my bread in the stew and put veggies and meat on top of it. My mouth is watering just writing about it.... I truly recommend this place to everyone. Quick note: We actually got to try the Chez Fernand and the bone marrow had a bit more flavor and was slightly better but not too much of a difference. However, the beef stew was far superior here at the Le Machon d' Henri and I mean superior!! The stew has a thicker consistency, meat was tender, not difficult to cut, and had more meat and veggies overall. If you're debating between Chez Fernand and Le Machon d' Henri, I would recommend Le Machon d' Henri overall. Food/ Drink 1. Bone Marrow with Bread (Appetizer menu) 2. Beef Stew 3. Rouge : Loteaux du Lyonnais AOE  (Wine) 4. Lamb chops with potatoes (We went for a second time) 5. Chocolate mousse (dessert) Perks: 1. No reservations 2. The waitress and service was super awesome. 3. Price was reasonable.

Yelp
My husband and I wanted to try a coq au vin while we were in France. Unfortunately, what we didn't know is that coq au vin is a winter dish, and we were there in the summer. This restaurant does occasionally have coq au vin as a special, but the owner did indicate that they don't serve it during the summer. Since we were already here, and the reviews for this place were pretty awesome, we decided to stay and eat dinner anyways. I don't regret it one bit. I ordered the bone marrow dish, which comes with plenty of marrow. It was fatty and warm. The salt is served on the side so you can season to taste. I also ordered the foie gras dish, which was a pate. I loved the fatty flavor of the foie, and appreciated how much cheaper foie is in France than in the U.S. But the common denominator for both of these dishes was the bread. The bread here was absolutely amazing. I don't know if they bake it in house or get it from a bakery nearby, but it was so good. I kept eating the bread even when I was out of food. As for our entrees, I ordered the lamb chop, which was one of the best lamb dishes I've tried in a while. It had a hint of game, but it was seasoned so well and was delicious. My husband ordered the ribeye with a potato gratin. The gratin was delicious! The ribeye was good, but it wasn't as special as other steaks we had. I absolutely loved eating here and loved the outdoor environment, perfect for people watching.

Yelp
My wife and I were in Saint Germaine in late October celebrating our 40th wedding anniversary and were so fortunate our research for great boeuf bourguignon led us to Machon d'Henri Le. I had a fabulous bourguignon and my wife had a lamb shank that was slow cooked for 7 hours. Both were so wonderfully flavourful and so tender. The excellence of the cuisine was matched by the warmth and humour of the owner. A most wonderful dining experience at reasonable prices. Our thanks to the owner for making our second last night in Paris on October 23 one to be fondly remembered. Wishing you only the best. John Little, Victoria, BC

Yelp
Small bistro located on a great ruelle. Our waiter was a bit of hit and miss. We really liked the bone marrow but it didn't seem to have salt. They had a zucchini rillette as daily special which was more like a quiche/omelette. Their specialty is the 7 hour cooked lamb and boeuf bourguignon which was delicious. I had ordered the cheaper wine but was given the more expensive cause our waiter said he couldn't reach it. Total bill was 70 euros.

Kenneth W.

Yelp
A very small restaurant, claim to be owned and run by the same people of Le Bistrot d'Henri. Retro ambiance with paintings on the wall. However the dishes we order for our dinner just so so, no wow. I think it is just OK. Just a side note, most restaurants we have been to did not charge us for water but this restaurant did.

Agnes K.

Yelp
Relatives had recommended 'Bistrol d'Henri' but they were so PACKED on Saturday night, so the owner asked if we want to go over to their sister restaurant 'Machon d'Henri'. We said 'oui' so he walked us around the corner to his other place and boy, we're glad we followed. As a American who has claustrophobic issues, dining in this small place was initially a bit awkward. But I can honestly say it ended as a wonderful experience. First, We were seated in this TINY table right by the restroom door, the table location wouldn't be acceptable if we were home in the States. Oddly enough it didn't bother my husband..only he had to shift his chair each time someone opened door. Also, our table was only about .5 sq meter so I had to be very careful not to knock over the glasses or plates. Now, about the food. We had two starters, bone marrow and foie gras...delicious! Our main plates were Veal liver and 8 hr slow cooked lamb. We were expecting small portions but no....they were good size portions. The food was excellent!!! and filling!! And did I mentioned small tables were so close together...that we actually had a good conversation with the local patrons next to us? The wait staff are so very welcoming to both locals and visitors alike. A big star for them. In addition, their prices were much better than other French Brassiere restaurants. YES I do highly recommend this place.

Tara F.

Yelp
A colleague had recommended Machon d'Henri, calling it the perfect laid-back neighborhood restaurant. They still stand out as my absolute favorite restaurant in Paris! I had the special of the evening, pork in a honey caramel sauce, and it was out of this world. We had creme brulee for dessert and it was delicious. They have English menus available and are very kind to non-French speakers! We had a fantastic evening.

Vivian M.

Yelp
Food was good but service was terrible. The sole server/owner was arrogant and rude. He was obviously racist against Asians. At first I wasn't sure if he didn't like us because we were American or Asian. But a few other American patrons came in and they were greeted warmly. I felt so disrespected and disregarded. Expect slow and inattentive service. I asked for the bill and he told me to give him a minute...so he can chit chat with another table or two. We sat there patiently waiting and playing on our phones till the point that we felt like he forgot or ignored us on purpose. We thought we were doing him a favor by giving up a table since the place is so tight and small. My boyfriend asked again and the old Botox man said something as if we're being impatient and rude. Ugh, I should've read all the Google reviews before stepping foot in here. A lot of people complained about this old emotionless man who seems to be the manager or owner. He's a prick. The food does not, and should not justify the way he discriminates and treats people differently.

Debbie B.

Yelp
Tucked away on quiet non tourist street We were greeted with complimentary champagne. Foie gras appetizer was wonderful Duck was devine with mashed potatoes Home made Chocolate mousse as good as it gets. Prices were fabulous for our dinner. We paid more for lunch in a trendy tourist spot earlier in the day.

mimomai i.

Yelp
Yelp failed me with the good reviews. Escargot and bone marrow were both overly under seasoned and un-appetizing. Bœuf bourguignon had good flavor but not all tender. Lamb slow cooked stew was too sweet and had a weird aftertaste. Place is uncomfortably cramped and tiny. Guy in charge appears friendly but unfortunately deceiving :(

Steve K.

Yelp
Small local restaurant... Very good food and menu..... Great neighborhood!.... I recommend this place. We had pork & pasta w/Alfredo sauce & duck with potatoes au gratin. Very good.

Christie K.

Yelp
Thanks yelp for this find! There are lots of cute restaurants and cafes in the St. Germaine area and looked to yelp to help us find a place for lunch and looked around for it. We accidentally went into Le Bistro d'Henri as the Yelp app map was a bit wonky.. they rubbed us a bit the wrong way as we stepped out, they locked the door behind us... and it wasn't even that late into lunch time. We were about to go to this other restaurant and this place caught our eye and only later realised we ended up at the place we originally wanted to go to in the first place. It's a small cozy place where they have the menus listed on a black chalk board. Luckily my friends knew a little bit of French but with things like Google Translate, we easily picked out courses. I had the terrine of courgette to start. It was egg with courgette and a side of cold tomato sauce. It tasted fresh and delicious. Needed a tad bit of salt but I prefer it this way as opposed to things being too salty. For my main I had the onglet of veal and this was amazing. At first glance, the sauce looked a bit too creamy but it was perfect in the end. It came with a side of creamy potatoes which topped it off really well. The place isn't too great for vegetarians as the only main option was to pull together a plate of veggies (tomato, green beans, cabbage). One thing I love about France is ordering the table wine. It was only about 9 euros for a bottle and it was great. Quite a young wine but easy drinking. Alternatively, they had a good selection of wine if you fancy something else. Service was great and would definitely come back for some more.

Scott S.

Yelp
Dropped in here our first night and learned that English won't get us too far in Paris... no english menu... Great food, no frills service. We could've come back here every night to explore the menu. Next time: i'll tune-up the french beforehand

Gloria C.

Yelp
Quaint bistro Friendly service Excellent French food Great formule price for lunch I'm so glad that I stopped by Machon d'Henri for lunch! It was empty, so I was able to enjoy a very relaxing hiatus out of the rain. I had the magret de canard, and it was EXCELLENT. I ordered it rose, and it was perfectly pink and tender inside. Loved the layer of fat (mmm!), and the accompanying mashed potatoes and sauce were perfectly buttery, savory, and delicious. For dessert, I had the mousse au chocolat, and it was much more rich and dense than other mousses I have had... but no complaints there. ;) All this for 17 euros. Not a bad deal for an excellent quality meal! (rhyme!)

W K.

Yelp
This place was great. Service and food were excellent, we originally wanted to dine at the Bistro st Henri but they were all booked. The owner called Machon d'henri Le got us the last table.

Trina C.

Yelp
Ate here at the recommendation of a good friend who used to live in the neighborhood. Didier, the owner/waiter speaks mostly French but was excited to hear our friend had sent us. The goat cheese appetizer with pesto and olive tapenade was delicious. For our main course, we had the roasted chicken with citrus sauce and filet mignon medallions. The mashed potatoes were yummy. Dessert was apple tarte and creme caramel, both very good. With wine, only 70€. Definitely worth a return visit.

Leo L.

Yelp
Thank you yelp. We stayed in Latin Quarter and didn't know where to go for lunch. We took Yelpers recommendation and tried this restaurant. We had lamb stew and duck breast. Both were excellent, especially the lamb stew. The service was also good.

Dani D.

Yelp
Good service and solid food. I ordered the avocado and shrimp salad with cocktail sauce (which is more of a creamy tomato sauce than what americans would think of as cocktail sauce and the shrimp are bay shrimp). While the salad was tasty, I thought it was a tad over dressed. Next I ordered the roasted chicken. It was also slightly over sauced, and could have used two more minutes of cooking time. All the components were tasty. They don't have tea, just coffee (which with my cold made me very sad). But the server was friendly and nice and patient with me when I asked for a few more minutes to decipher one of the words on the menu before placing my order. Since I was sick, I thought it best to limit my sugar intake and declined dessert but the desserts the other diners had looked like tasty representions of classic french desserts.

Rebecca P.

Yelp
Extraordinary meal in Paris. Came with the family- husband and two teen daughters. Wonderful small restaurant. Great character. Friendly staff who cheerfully explained the menu in English for us. Owner or host Matisse is extremely personable. Wonderful meals including daily special duck confit, beef bourguignon and ravioli were great. Really enjoyed goat cheese appetizer. Prices were very fair for quality of meal. Will definitely return next time we're in Paris. Merci beaucoup!

Sarah B.

Yelp
This restaurant really is a winner. We ordered the boeuf bourguignon and the confit de canard. Both were excellent. We also ordered the crème caramel which was good, but not my favorite part of the meal. The woman at he next table ordered the magret de canard which also looked really amazing-I almost stole some off her plate! We would definitely go back here and will recommend this place to anyone going to Paris!

Hope T.

Yelp
We found this on Yelp, and I agree with most Yelpers. The warm goat cheese salad was delish! The owner is kind (doesn't speak english, but they now have a blackboard with english translations). The place is small, but charming. Entrees: - Meat is very, very rare! - Salmon: tasty - Lamb: my hubby expected a cassoulet/stew but it was more like lamb shank. Tasty, but not what he expected The only bomb was the goat cheese and olive tapenade, which was uninteresting and tasty fishy (guessing it contained anchovies)

Arielle R.

Yelp
The snails and bone marrow with toast were amazing! My husband had the kidney which he said was great but the must have of the night was the Beef Bourguignon. This is the best version I have ever had. Julia Child has nothing on them. If you are looking to have dinner here make sure you call ahead to make reservations. The only issue is that it's a bit tight in there. I still can't stop thinking about every dish we tried.

Laura B.

Yelp
We really enjoyed our dinner here. We were in the neighborhood to eat at another yelp recommended restaurant but that one was no longer there. We happened upon this one and really enjoyed it. The waiter/owner does not seem to speak English and was very cordial. We each had the chèvre chaud salad and it was amazing. I had the lamb chops and my husband the veal - good portion size, nicely seasoned. Served with amazing potato dish. Had the cheese plate for dessert and "accidentally" had to try the pear dessert cake thing. We shared a carafe of white wine. All of that for 66 €. Amazing! On a side note: We went to another very popular restaurant (Les Deux Magots) the next night and spent almost twice this for not nearly as much or as nice of a meal.

Lauretta S.

Yelp
We had the 7 hour slow cooked lamb and the duck and mashed potato special. The service was great and the food delicious.

Stephanie D.

Yelp
Great friendly service, good portions and genuine bistro food.

David B.

Yelp
Amazing food and friendly service at a great price point. We had the Duck Pate, the rotated chicken and the duck confit. Nothing left on our plates. Will definitely go back.

Alex S.

Yelp
Amazing food! Service was excellent! The waiter was very nice. He gave us two free deserts and chocolates. I also believe he is the owner. Bread was really good. The warm goat cheese dip is a starter and the ravioli is top notch. The steak was delightful. Very good place. Suggest going there and it is very well priced for the food quality

Ren F.

Yelp
Make a reservation. They have limited seating. The food is great, price is reasonable, and service is nice. Nice homelike ambiance. Also there is a church across the street along with a nice looking fountain. Stroll around there while you wait for your reservation time.

Adam G.

Yelp
After reading the many wonderful reviews, we made a reservation for dinner. While we were the only customers innitally at seven pm., the small room began to fill up quickly. I was seated towards the small opening into the kitchen and was horribly shocked to see the food being assembled from prepared products. Not only was the food not being freshly prepared, it was put into crocks and onto plates, wrapped in plastic and microwaved. After realizing what was happening and hearing the microwave buzzer go off continually, we still hoped that some of the food would be decent. Both the beef bourguignon and lamb shank were dry, tasteless and smelled acrid. We asked for the check, paid and promptly and left. Its a shame that a restaurant in such a wonderful city has no issue in ripping off people so blatantly.

Gillian R.

Yelp
We tried to get into Le Bistro d'Henri, but they were full. The maitre d' told us they have a sister restaurant called Le Machon if we'd like a table. They called, got us in right away and a waiter walked us the 1 block to the front door! The female hostess sat us in the corner window. My mother in law and I ordered the boeuf Bourgogne and it was the best! My mother ordered a steak cooked medium (au point) but it was very much undercooked and wasn't let to rest before cutting. A disappointment. We enjoyed prosecco and red burgundy wine with our dinners. The staff went above and beyond and packed up my leftovers to take home which isn't a common thing outside of the US. Highly recommended!

Yelp
Once again in Paris and this time brought our friends with us. After suggesting this restaurant and singing it praises from our past experience, it didn't disappoint. Machon specializes in dishes from the Lyon area, which many think of as the center of France for food. This evening my meal started with the shrimp and avocado salad. Nothing fancy but well prepared and tasty. Coq au vin was off the menu so I order the canard special. The duck was moist, tender and in a delicious sauce, however the potatoes stole the show, a gratin style which all of us raved about. Although full we forced ourselves to have the tarte fraise. Good decision, absolutely fab, from the looks of the people around us a very popular choice.

Yelp
not super fancy, but good home food from Lyon, very nice owner/waiter, and very decent prices.
