Birdsong’s Highly Instagrammable Fried Chicken Sandwich Claws Back to Life With New Restaurant, Birdbox | Eater SF

"I learned that Mario Rimet is launching a new market called Le Marché Cezanne at 1426 18th Street, describing it as a “farmer’s market with a roof,” and he hopes to open by September at the latest." - Dianne de Guzman

Google
Very nice corner grocery with a takeaway counter for coffee and sandwiches. The groceries look like good quality and are priced similarly to other upscale markets in the area. I tried the Le Toulouse sandwich and it was delicious, definitely recommend it. Glad to have it in the neighborhood!

Google
Cute market with some interesting inventory. Tried their Rhode Island sandwich $12.99 after the lunch hour rush and I was underwhelmed. See the photo of what I found when I arrived home. Processed chicken lunch meat, slice of tomato and one piece of Romaine. Terrible.

Google
Terrible delivery service, they always send you the order missing your main items, like your sandwich (and send the juice) or even miss entire items like an entire bottle of milk. I’ve tried this place a few times already out of convenience. Never again after today.

Such a nice, cozy store with a variety of high quality food. Will come back for sure.

I can’t tell you how excited I was to see a full selection of these butters in the dairy case. This spot is full of wonderful treats & they serve ritual coffee.

Great cheese and wine! Sometimes you’ll see things that are only available in France, including French attitude from the staff haha. Just be ready to spend $$$

Beautiful, organic grocery store with fresh natural juices and delicious pastries! My favorite is the chocolate croissant! Will definitely be back to grocery shop soon!

Yelp
I love this market and have been shopping here quite a few times in the past few weeks. Amazing customer service and the guys working the register are always so friendly!! The market has a good selection of French wines, as well as French cheeses (yes, the famous ones, too, although they are not always in stock). They have a small selection of produce and although their selection of goods overall isn't big, I feel that it has a good variety of everyday items. Great place to stop before having a picnic for sures! Butter + baguette + cheese + deli meats! My husband and I recently stopped in during the lunch hour and got some made to order sandwiches to eat in their parklet outside. There was a sign about cheese boards and wine pairings which we will have to try in the future.

Yelp
I came here for groceries but they have a pretty small selection and prices seemed higher than expected so I didn't buy anything. I do like that they sell a lot of locally made products that are clearly curated. Mostly the review is for the latte which was alright but definitely not the best I have had. They do have a nice parklet though so it was a nice experience enjoying the coffee and cookie I got on a sunny San Francisco day. They apparently offer charcuterie but I thought the menu was a bit confusing. They also offer sandwiches and salads- this menu reminds me a lot of the one from La Fromagerie, perhaps because both have smoked duck breast as an option and other similar meats. It's not exactly the same so perhaps they just are a supplier for this spot, not sure. Threeish stars for the coffee and cookie, five stars for the outdoor seating, but would come back!

Yelp
Was in the mood for a sandwich this evening and took a walk down 18th. Decided to finally swing by Le Marche Cezanne and ordered the Cezanne. The fig jam, arugula, and brie really shined through. Solid offerings. Quaint, Parisian interior made for fun vibes as well.

Yelp
Cute little local market in Potrero Hill. Its not so eye catching from the outside or at least I don't recall seeing anything that made me know or had to walk across the street to go see... however, once I did walk across the street and I peered inside the front door, the floors and the interior got me to take a couple steps back and go inside to check out what was good here. This market is so cute inside and everything was displayed really beautifully. They have a lot of special brands, products, and unique things you may not find elsewhere, here! I would have left with more things, but I wasn't sure when I was going to leave the city and I also didn't want to spend a ton of money still. I did get a bag of Sightglass espresso coffee beans. There is a small coffee station / bar, but they closed at around 3pm, so I was unable to get coffee during the time I was there. They had a good selection of fresh produce - veggies and fruits and meats and cheeses as well as selection of wines. I would stop by again! Guys working were also nice. There are a few tables out on the sidewalk people can sit at too which I loved. Wish California had more of these types of seating seen.

Yelp
Nice little market in the heart of Potrero. We are a french American family and definitely enjoy the Parisian vibe. They have many local products as well as a good and unique selection of French and European cheeses, as well as meats. You can find a small selection of bread, fruit and pantry items. They have a pick up window for coffee and pastries too! We also met Mario, the owner we believe, who was working the butcher and cheese counter.

Gary P.

Yelp
We stopped by and asked what time they closed so we can get some coffee after dinner. The gentleman employee said they closed at 8pm. We came back at 6pm and the same employee said he shut down the coffee machine. The employee misinformed us and was very unexpected.

Yelp
Must underrated wine happy hour spots in the SF. Also, their Lyonnaise breakfast croissant is probably the best in the city - they have a vegetarian version that's my go-to. Always the freshest ingredients and they are serious about the type of cheese they use. Love this gem.

Yelp
Very cute small grocer that specializes in French fare and offers sandwiches and coffee. I haven't tried the sandwiches or coffee so this review is more for the grocery aspect of their business. The service is great; the selection is very limited because it's a small space. They have interesting products you wouldn't find elsewhere and great produce but are not reliably stocked with basics like onions.

Yelp
I love this place! They have everything you can think of, not to mention that almost everything is organic. I loved their imported items and high quality meats, cheeses and produce. I also love to support small businesses, especially ones that pay close attention to detail and quality. You can also buy coffee, drinks, sandwiches and pastries there. Highly recommended this french-inspired farmer's-market-like store! | IG: Smackinfood

Yelp
The hubby and I were at Ruby Wine yesterday for one of their Run Come Dance gatherings. We found some food to share at Le Marche Cezanne. It's a small shop, but they had a nice curated selection of fresh produce, cheese, meat, drinks and snacks. Both of the employees were friendly and helpful! I would definitely pop in again if I was in the area and needed some provisions.

Yelp
I love this place. It's like a little slice of Europe. They have great sandwiches and salads and a small market.

Yelp
The space looks beautiful and the woman at the register seemed nice, but I found the takeaway options a bit lacking. My matcha latte was a bit watered down and my pastry was just fine? My partner said his latte was decent but there wasn't anything special about his pastry either. I know they have a fuller menu and you can sit down inside as well, but I'll probably look for another cafe in the area next time.

Yelp
This is truly a gourmet store. If you are looking to find the best imported products for your next dish or house party, this is a must visit. The cafe is also excellent...a little slice of Paris.

Yelp
This is me and my wife's favorite place In Potrero Hill. The food is amazing. The wine is amazing. It is such a cute and beautiful little marketplace where you can get everything that you need, especially if you're doing a date night. Also you can dine in now at one of their outside Parklets. It literally feels like a little piece of Europe transplanted in San Francisco and on top of that the staff there is incredibly nice. Mario is the owner and he is always fantastic and so kind to us and we have been helped by Valentin and Mael who are from France and have made our experience they're even better every time they help us. The sandwiches and salads are incredible too. Definitely a place you should check out if you're in the area!

Yelp
The best market in the bay! The products are fresh and of excellent quality the service is excellent and professional and the market is very clean and organized! Love it!

Yelp
The service was great. However we tried matcha one day, the next day we went and it tasted like pure oat milk/water. When I brought it up to the worker's attention and asked if he could remake it he replied with "That's how we make our matcha." They were nice but after I brought up the matcha the worker was dismissive.

Yelp
Beautifully renovated space, great selection, fantastic deli, and super friendly staff!

Yelp
I grew up in Europe and one of the things I miss the most is duck breast, and oh my goodness the Toulouse sandwich killed it! It was the best gluten free sandwich of my life. The lavender latte was also great. Cute little market with a great sandwich counter. Bonus they sell volcano kimchi

Yelp
To be quite honest I came because I saw 3 Instagram reels that now in hindsight might have blinded my judgement. The facade of the store is cute but it's nothing to say wow about. It's a corner-shoppe. We walked in and weren't acknowledged and staff didn't look particularly in the mood to answer questions. I came in mind looking for things like amora mustard, asla vanilla sugar, lu biscotte or les 2 marmottes tea... but only found a huge wine selection, sandwiches, bonne maman jams and cookies which I could already find in my local Safeway. I don't want to say not to come here but I can see the convenience in a couple of veggies etc but there is nothing amazing about the selection that is offered here. It feels super hyped up for something I could find anywhere else. (Nothing is very French but its name)

Yelp
A hidden gem. The store has an array or fresh produce, gourmet cheese, and the most delicious sandwiches. Will definitely be going back. Try the Parma sandwich

Yelp
We've been waiting to go to the city for a while now, live in the east bay but needed a reason to go, so my partner and I made plans to hit up the beach but first check this cute little shop out to grab some bites to snack on. They have an outside window you can order from as well, and the store itself isn't that big but it's not the size of the store that matters but the quality of items they have, from imported French snacks to fresh breads and cheeses and also have a deli style menu set up with fresh sandwiches, salads cheeses etc. We ended up getting a bottle of French bubbles, a canned beer for myself and I opted to get a bagel with lox, and my partner being a vegetarian opted for a croissant with an omelette and fig jam but they ran out of the fresh croissant since we came around lunch that makes sense but the gentleman behind the counter agreed to make it on fresh bread instead and it was equally mind blowing, everything was priced fairly and we ended up getting some fresh bread, cheese and also some chocolate croissants to take home! Cannot wait to visit again next time on our way to the beach, def worth a stop if you have a beach day or picnic planned!

Yelp
This place is so cute and amazing! They also have the most kind staff. Definitely a spot to check out!

Yelp
If you have never been to Paris, Paris has come to you. Take pleasure in shopping Parisian style...where one shops for a bit every day. Here you will find an excellent choice of meats, fish and cheeses as well as everything from lemongrass to freshly baked breads. A little bit of everything for the discerning customer.

Yelp
I came here with my kids after a fun day at the playground. I saw this place online and wanted to come here because its been 10 years since i last visited Paris- one of my favorite cities ! Walking in the store really does feel like walking into your own local French market. It is very clean with the freshest fruits and vegetables. I'm also excited to try some imported french products like their butter and yogurt! I also got an assortment of charcuterie and love it ! The two workers running the shop showed great hospitality and were attentive to their customers. I will be coming back!

Yelp
Lovely market with all the necessities. Great selection of meats, seafood, produce and other grocery items. Feels great to support a local small business and they make it easy with a great selection. The sandwiches during the day are also really delicious and well priced. Great place to go get lunch and groceries for dinner at home.

Rebecca C.

Yelp
Visiting from out of town, I was hoping for more imported French goods, but it was nice to get some butter and cheese. The parking around there is painful as the area is very hilly. So a lot of nuisance for very little reward.

Gia M.

Yelp
Got a salad to go, huge bug in it. went back for a new one. SECOND salad had ANOTHER bug?? i understand bug live in plants but damn.... clean your produce better!

Yelp
This market recently opened up in Potrero hill and it is such a gem. They have wonderful sandwiches like Le Toulouse (duck and fig) and Le Californien (Turkey and jalapeño jam). They also offer local meats, fresh fish, and cheeses at their deli. I also think they have a great selection of dairy products and affordable organic produce. This store has become my go-to for shopping.

Joshua P.

Yelp
Imagine eating in a cafe in the heart of France - this is it; the Euro/ French ambiance is here. This secret gem is not only a local shop (for food) but also serves excellent coffee and the best croissant sandwiches I have had in a long time!!! A must try is anything with the onion jelly. The service always leaves me feeling good and a smile to my face. Thank you for making my day!

Julien V.

Yelp
Great place to start your day. Great coffee and sandwiches in addition to great selection of fresh produce.
