"There’s a new spot to check out during your next stroll down Newbury Street: Le Mari, an elegant little bistro from chef and owner Leigh Whittaker. Step inside (or onto the patio) for Mediterranean-leaning small plates like scallop or tuna crudo, sea bass with tzatziki, fennel, Granny Smith apples, and sumac, or a quintessential plate of steak frites. This is Whittaker’s debut restaurant; previously, she worked at Italian powerhouse Fox & the Knife." - Erika Adams, Nathan Tavares

"The newcomer boasts tapas-style plates with Mediterranean flair — sea bass with tzatziki and sumac; chicken milanese with harissa and whipped goat cheese — in a sunny little space that overlooks Boston’s most famous shopping strip." - Erika Adams

Made our first visit to Le Mari last night for my birthday dinner and I am so happy that we did! The atmosphere is chic and cozy. The food was divine. Highly recommend the beet salad, pork belly and cacio e pepe! We were greeted by Chef Leigh, who also sent a complementary birthday dessert, named for our lovely server Chloe! Really enjoyed the entire experience and look forward to coming back to sit at the bar and try additional menu items!

Truffle fries were so delicious! Another Highly recommend dish would be Cacio e Pepe. We loved the cheesecake as well! Great service overall. Cocktails are cute too!

I recently dined at Le Mari on Newbury Street, and it was an incredible experience! The ambiance is inviting and stylish, making it perfect for a night out. The menu offers a fantastic selection, and every dish we tried was bursting with flavor. The standout was the wagyu carpaccio, which was simply exceptional. The drink menu is just as impressive, with creative cocktails that perfectly complemented our meal. The staff were attentive and knowledgeable, enhancing our overall experience. I can't recommend Le Mari enough. Can't wait to return!

Great addition to Newbury Street restaurants. Staff was super friendly and helpful. Nice chiche interior is great for date night. Will be coming again and recommend giving this spot a try. Just to add, being new they have a very limited dessert menu which is just one kind of gelato. So just be aware. Butternut squash soup- smooth and creamy with a mild savory flavor. Wish it was a bit more robust, but it was a good start. 3.5/5 pork belly- Perfectly cooked. Topped with apple strings that added a nice tart and sweetness to the dish 4/5 Octopus crudo- super fresh. Lightly sprinkled with salt. Very simple, but very taste 4/5 chicken Milanese- huge serving of lightly battered chicken. Perfectly crispy, well seasoned, and very juicy. Came covered with sugar snaps, which added a very subtle sweetness that paired well with the whipped goat cheese that the chicken was on top of 4.5/5

I took a girlfriend out to dinner at Le Mari for her birthday this week and it did not disappoint. Susan and Spencer at the bar are an absolute delight, and my martini was chilled to perfection. Our steak frites were lovely, and the sauce was bright and creative! To top it off the owner and head chef, Leigh, not only came over to say hello but gave the birthday girl two scoops of (fabulous) house made gelato on the house! I cannot wait to come back here.

The food quality and presentation were incredible. The dishes were balanced with familiar but exciting and new flavors. We got the "yes chef" cocktails, the bluefin ahi crudo, the watermelon salad, and the caccio e pepe. The service and vibe was incredible, and chef Leigh came out to greet us right away. I will absolutely be coming back often, cannot recommend this place enough!

Google
A little overpriced for the value you get. The place is small and quickly gets crowded and loud. The food is hit or miss - appetizers were really good, but my steak was straight from the fridge. We asked to warm it up two times and ended up not eating/taking it even though they took it off the check.

The decor was cozy, yet elegant. Staff was friendly and engaging, helping us with the menu and suggestions. Each dish we ordered was beautiful presented and tasted as great as it looked. And the drinks were delish! Had a amazing time catching up with old friends there.

Yelp
Big disappointment for our group- 4 of us wanted the short rib and they were already out of them- at 8:00 at night on a Saturday! It's a small menu so this left protein lovers two choices a steak and frites and a breaded chicken. The steak was the most gristly steak I have ever had in my life. I think the clearance section at Shaws has better steak for $2.00/lb. BTW - we spent $210/person. Positives- very small but decent wine list- one Barolo, two Bordeaux's, one Sancerre etc. Server was attentive and nice. Pumpkin and Bailey gelatos were good.

Yelp
This place is a massive joke and will NOT last on Newbury Street. Ordered their "chicken milanese" - might as well be KFC, see photo. Way too much breading, way too dry, zero flavor. Also they were out of one of the 4 options for entrees on their menu on a weekend night....so amateur of them. It was like they tried really hard to pitch the concept as a higher end french place and then surprise screw customers with laughable portions - yes, literally saw multiple other customers get brought their food and start laughing. You can't make it long term by squeezing the juice out of every plate with tiny portions and barely any booze in any of the cocktails. LMAO - this place does not command $50 for a Steak Frites what a joke. No way this place sticks long term. My advice is to ownership is pay attention to what comes out of the kitchen instead of sitting at the bar having cocktails with your friends. Places like this are why Boston restaurants are a joke compared with NYC. Our waitress was nice though.

Yelp
Incredible food. Incredible service. Keri was amazing, attentive and recommended the most amazing dishes. The food was amazing and brought a fresh new flavor to Newbury st. Can't wait to go back.

Yelp
Visiting from out of town for work. Le Mari nailed it. The patio was perfect on an early autumn evening, food was spectacular, a drop in from Chef Leigh was so welcoming, and our server Alma was knowledgeable, attentive, and kind! Coming back for sure next time I'm in town!

Yelp
Had such high hopes after reading about Le Mari's opening. Not super busy on a Saturday night, and $250 for a lackluster meal was a disappointment. We ordered the scallop crudo first, which was underseasoned, and just as we were taking out first bite, the salad and soup we ordered arrived, forcing an awkward rearranging of plates and glasses. The soup and salad were fine. The entrees were the highlight of the meal (bolognese and sea bass) but as other guests shared, the sea bass was tiiiiiiiiiiiiny, especially for $48. I left hungry. :(

Yelp
Excellent service. Menu a bit limited but the quality of the food was very good. Really enjoyed the meal. Need to warm the decor up a little (felt a little cold).

Yelp
Sat at the bar for dinner and had a great experience. Bartenders and wait staff were very attentive and friendly, fun cocktail selection. Food was excellent - we had the yellowfin crudo, king crab appetizer, cacio e Pepe and chicken Milanese. All seasoned perfectly and beautiful presentation. Next time we'll sit on the patio out front!

Yelp
The food is great at Le Mari, especially loved the squash soup and the mushroom agnolotti. The leek soup and the Carciofi are also very good. Great atmosphere and service.

Yelp
Had a wonderful night at Le Mari with friends. we started with drinks outside and shared some small plates the bluefin crisp was amazing. We split a few main courses so we could try more things with the chicken milanese being a favorite.

Yelp
Beautiful dinner and experience. We all agreed that the food is Best in Boston right now. Chef Leigh even came out to meet us. She and her staff are so accommodating. We were celebrating friends birthdays and she made sure it was a night to remember. Thank you LE Mari!

Yelp
This place is overrated. The portions are incredibly small and overpriced. I don't think I will ever return. I would say none of the dishes were satisfying. The Greek salad was so basic that it looked like any deli salad and mostly made of onions.

Yelp
I own a travel agency with concierge services so I'm very picky about where I choose to eat on vacation and this was by far my favorite place throughout my week stay. I loved the food, the ambience, the staff, the location & their wine selection! The outside patio is just as nice as indoor and if solo their two sides of the bar one cozy against the wall to enjoy it as well. Bravo 5 stars!

Yelp
I love this new restaurant. It offers delicious food, great ambiance, and drinks to die for. It's a must!

Yelp
Really had an excellent meal here, sitting outdoors on Newbury Street. The staff was great and the food/drinks were excellent. We loved all of our entrees, especially the Steak Frites, Chicken Milanese and Bolognese. All fantastic.
