Fish and chips were crispy and light. The tartar sauce dip was quite good. Clam chowder had good amount of clam smooth and tasty. The chowder was hot so that’s always a good sign. The fries were crispy with some seasoning. It wasn’t my go to fries taste. I actually enjoyed more of the sourdough bread that came with the chowder. Salmon burger with Brioche bread was a nice combo. The food court is spacious and clean. The chairs/stools were a bit higher than I like so my feet dangled while eating. Not great for shorter person.

Google
Crispy and freshly made, but fish was not seasoned at all and the tartar sauce lacked flavor. Coleslaw wasn’t to my taste as it was a wetter style that also was a bit bland. Fries were nice - some crispy some soft, but seasoned well.

We came here today and had the lentil balls, grilled salmon, and grilled skewer chicken rice bowl. I cannot begin to describe the amazing tastes we experienced. The staff was super friendly and helpful and the place was very sanitary. I wanted to get everything on the menu because it looked amazing. I will definitely be coming back weekly for those rice bowls. Also a side note please try their oreo magnolia pudding if you're a sweet tooth. Everything and everyone at Le Marine was amazing.

Google
I was so excited to try their branzino sandwich that I forgot to take a photo. I like how the fish was grilled to perfection without a lot of fat or seasoning, allowing its own flavor to come through. I also had the chance to sample their lentil balls and carrot coleslaw, which were quite tasty as well. I’ll definitely come back here to try more of their dishes.

Homemade mayo/tartar sauce was a nice touch. My husband and my friend each ordered the fish n chips. I had the branzino bowl which was a generous portion and delicious. Will return.

Yelp
Found this place on a whim this past Tuesday. We were looking for a place to grab lunch before we headed over to ikea. I'm a fish and chips connoisseur (lol) and I like to find new places that are quality. However, I am a little jaded and last places have left me disappointed. Either it was just too dense, not crunch enough or just not crunchy at all. I took a leap of faith based on the reviews. Here's what we ordered: Hubby: clam chowder - made perfectly and not watery like some places!) Me: 2pc fish n chips - omg. They had the perfect crunch to them and fish was good! I subbed regular fries for the garlic fries and they were amazing! Will definitely come back here again. One note I woken like to add is maybe add just a tad of seasoning to it? I saw another review saying they were too salty. That's what I was afraid of. These weren't salty at all. Maybe they can find a balance for the seasoning so it's not too salty but also adding some kind of flavor to it. Aside from that, two thumbs up!

Yelp
I love fish and chips and was dismayed to find that the previous stand had changed ownership. Still I am glad that the Public Market has fish and chips as an option though! We got the 5 piece fish and chips and the calamari to split between two people. First off, the good: - fish is fresh, large pieces, not dry, and the battery had the right crunch. - fries were tasty and well seasoned and not soggy. -coleslaw was excellent, wish we were given more - generous with tartar sauce and loved the horseradish cocktail sauce with the calamari - calamari was GREAT. I loved the barely there breading that was almost just like a dusting of cornmeal and the squid was barely cooked through with a good texture. The quality of the squid could have been a tad more fresh though. -malt vinegar is available as well as lemon, yay. All of this would have made this place five stars but I have to take away two stars because the battered fish was so unbelievably salty that it hurt to eat after awhile. There was probably 5x more salt than there needed to be. I would like to patron this place but will not be back until the salt levels are adjusted. The bowls look really tasty but I hope those aren't super salty too...

Yelp
The Public Market in Emeryville is always surprising me with new vendors and I absolutely love having options. Especially when we're thinking of multiple family members now :) Le Marine Fish & Grill is something new(er) and is definitely a fun alternative choice that's focused on seafood options like fish and chips, rice bowls, salad bowls, burger/sandwiches, apps like popcorn shrimp, soups, desserts, sides, and a kiddo menu..yay! Lots to choose from and tbh, the staff gave me a laminated menu with pictures because the menu is so large, hah. If you've watch Vanderpump Rules, you already know I had to go with the Fried Goat Cheese Beet Salad Bowl. I also ordered two New England clam chowders which come with a slice of sourdough. If I wasn't taking the items to-go I would have went with a Tuna Melt Sandwich (served with French fries) and maybe a fun fried fish appetizer to split. They have tons of sauces also including a garlic labneh sauce. If you're a sauce person, you can take a look at the display case. The desserts look incredibly appetizing as well ~ the Cookies n Cream pudding..yum! Clam chowder in the East Bay is tricky, but these were delicious and light. I adored the goat cheese balls too which I was hoping were going to be everything I wanted and more. Great add to the market ~ if you haven't checked out it out yet, worth a try. Also, there is a bar in the market and I noticed they had a really great crowd for trivia on a Tuesday also offering other fun events on the calendar. Plenty of seating if you and your party are eating indoors too. Fun! Free parking across the way too.

Yelp
@ Public Market 5959 Shellmound St Emeryville, CA 94608 I haven't had Fish 'n Chips in a really long time. So when I visited the Public Market the other day with a friend, I was pretty interested to see it on the menu of Le Marine. I ordered a 5-pc Fish 'n Chips. Price: $27.95. Nice service, cool vibe. Five large pieces of fish. Light crispy crust, lightly seasoned. Fresh fish, no fishy smell. Only negative, not enough sauce. Five big pieces of fried fish, and you get a small container of sauce. I had to ask for more. Huge serving of fries. Fries were fair, nothing special. Very nice 1st time experience.

Yelp
Le Marine Fish & Grill replaced La Vida in the Public Market food hall. Basically new signage. Offerings (Seafood eats): appetizers, salad bowls, classics, burgers & sandwiches, sides, desserts, rice bowls, soups, kid's menu. Order at counter, pay, pick up order when buzzer buzzes. 10ish minutes later. Sips: water. Drinks available all sugared. Bites: 3 pieces (cod) fish & chips (18.95) -regular cut French fries plentiful, crunchy texture, mushy innards. Nothing special. Salt seasoning. Leftovers didn't travel well. Small salad was red cabbage. Carrot schreds, cabbage with "white" dressing. Fresh it was. Wrapped in New York tabloid newspaper, freshly fried cod fish fillets had crispy outer texture. Interior fish moist albeit flava neutral. Better than La Vida. -no malt vinegar given. Tartar sauce had one dominant ingredient: mayo. 4ish stars. Would pass. Many more choices available.

Yelp
Very good for a food hall. Fish and chips were good portioned and fresh fries. Small but tasty Cole slaw. The calamari appetizer was a little under-fried. The included sauces tasted good. The cheesecake slice was a shareable size, and deliciously thick, creamy and dense. We'll return.

Yelp
Lots of great options at this Public Market stall. I tried the grilled branzino bowl and it was great-- not heavy at all, the fish was flakey and not overcooked. Components of the bowl were a nice balance too. The fish and chips were good and fresh--pretty big serving too. I'd come back to try more.

Yelp
Finally tried La Marine Fish & Grill and real happy about it! They were quick to take my order and made good recommendations. Fish is breaded and fried to perfection. The serving size is quite generous! Fries are really good, too. We really like the variety of places to eat and the casual atmosphere at Public Market.

Yelp
So first time ordering from here. The public market has a wide variety of spots to try but this one blew my socks off. Fish and chips?? How can you go wrong. They were fresh, crispy and nicely fried. Great flavor. Definitely going back to this spot. You should try it, recommend this one for sure

Yelp
Being close to the Pacific Ocean, you'd think finding fish and chips wouldn't be difficult. Not ao, so when I spied this on the menu at Emeryville's Public Market, I was all in. I got the three piece with fries. Beautiful presentation, but the batter on the fish was just exquisite. Bar none, probably the beat I've ever had. Just check the image of my finished meal. No joke. But really, their entire menu looks delectable as well. I work close by and will for sure be back! Fantastic!
google avatar

Kate G.

Yelp
Fantastic best option. Note to self: out order the salmon rather than the Branzino because the salmon comes without skin.

Yelp
Hard Pass I was excited to try the fish n chips at this place cause there really isn't much here in the bay. I ordered a 3 piece fish n chips. The fish was inconsistent sizing. 2 very thin pieces like a hot dog and one, what i would expect to be, a good size piece. The fry was good color. Not crispy, and very greasey. They skimp hard on the tartar sauce, maybe 1 tbsp for 3pieces, and don't give vinegar in cups unless you ask for it. Fries were run of the mill. I'll never go back for the fried fish, may try something else. I sat at a table with a guy that just ordered from the Korean BBQ next door to Le Marine and I was very jealous.

Yelp
I had the grilled salmon sandwich, side of salad. Decadent brioche bun, tasty sauce, big pile of greens (arugula?) and perfectly grilled fish made for a great sandwich. The side salad - greens plus chopped tomatoes and cucumbers - wasn't as exceptional but it was also fresh and well-seasoned.

Yosky Z.

Yelp
The food was excellent and they have a curbside delivery. Which i love. The only complaint i have is the size of the fish I had with the fish and chips. Some pieces was small and some were large. But it was delicious
google avatar

Cheryl M.

Yelp
Sounds like they just opened last weekend, and the menu has a lot to offer, even a grilled branzino. I was in the mood for fish and chips and it was delicious and did not disappoint -- not too oily, perfect balance of fish and a light crunchy, flavorful batter. The fries and have an herby paprika seasoning and the portion was huge. I will be back when I crave fish n' chips!
google avatar

Dani O.

Yelp
Grilled branzino added to lentil ball bowl is one of my favorite meals in the world!!!! First time trying lentil balls - obsessed! The pickled onions, beets, arugula salad is an incredible combo with the rice and protein.

Yelp
Amazing service from the time I looked at the menu. The guy at the register was informative and patient. He described the menu and made me want to eat there. There was a lady in the kitchen who I believe to be the chef or his mom who was very pleasant and very Greeting. Now the sandwich, it was excellent one of the best tuna sandwiches I have ever had in my life 10 out of 10 would recommend. This place is located in a public market setting, but is well worth it.

Nikki N.

Yelp
The protein to to rice& veggies ratio is terrible , I purchase a salmon bowl which was $26 not worth it at all... I wouldn't dare pay over $14 for a very small piece of salmon with hella rice and veggies again next time I'll stick to Saucy Asian for something like this.

Yelp
I stopped into the market place for lunch on the weekend and suddenly I felt like fish and chips. I'm so happy I did! It was the best fish I have had in a longtime. The batter was tasty and had a beautiful crisp to it. It wasn't soggy inside like other places are. The fries had some kind of seasoning on them that were also tasty. Next time I will try other items but I'm craving that fish and sad I live an hour away.

Yelp
OMG!!! I just came from having the most delicious dinner at Le Marine, a fantastic addition to Emeryville Public Market, with tasty food, super fresh ingredients and generous portions. I had the grilled branzino bowl and it was out of this world! The fish was moist and flavorful, grilled to perfection. And the bowl was filled with a tasty array of colorful fresh vegetables over delicious, fragrant rice. My dinner companion had the fish & chips and said they were to die for! The coating on the fish was crispy but not greasy. The fries were crisp on the outside, tender on the inside. And the meal came with Cole slaw, and plentiful condiments on the side. The service is quick and the customer service is gracious, friendly and welcoming. I highly recommend this place if you want a fresh, healthy and delicious plate of food served with care and a smile. Thank you, Le Marine!

Yelp
Bad customer service. I waited 20 minutes to get my food and then when I asked them about it they gave me attitude. Well first he lied and said it was ready then proceeded to try and make it as fast as possible because he knew he served customers that were behind me first.

Yelp
Inside the Emeryville market. Randomly tried this place. Menu actually has quite a few tasty sounding seafood options. I went for the fish & chips. Is it as good as at Sailing Goat (one of the better options IMO)? Yes I believe it is! I got the 2piece that came with fries, tartar sauce, ketchup and a small coleslaw. And lemon slices. Fish and batter were crunchy and delicious. FYI this comes with fries and not proper thick English chips. The fries are good and were fresh & hot. I'd like to try the fish sando next. Dessert options also look very good but I didn't try. Service was excellent and personable. I will return.

Betty S.

Yelp
Decided to try the Deep Fried Cod Fish Sandwich Short wait time Decent portions of both fish and French fries I asked for the sauce on side. Sandwich was delicious without it Bread is hoagie style making the sandwich messy after it's first bite Definitely going back to try other items!

Jennifer B.

Yelp
Love love love their branzino bowl. Calamari is on point. Fish 'n chips never disappoints. Gone back 3 times and always satisfied.

Eric M.

Yelp
In the Emeryville marketplace, the Branzino sandwich was by far the best sandwich I have had in many years. The roll was soft, the fish was fantastic. The flavors were perfect. The clam chowder was also excellent. And the strawberry pudding was eaten quickly by everyone else. Worth every penny.
google avatar

Victoria M.

Yelp
Son enjoys their chicken strips, actually requests to come back specifically for them.

Kimberly C.

Yelp
Came here for the first time today and ordered the fish and chips. It was absolutely delicious and very fresh! Loved it Very crispy and good tasting. Highly recommend them.

Nancy D.

Yelp
Just opened two weeks ago in Public Market' Excellent salmon burger with salad was $25, includimg tax and tip. Bun was fresh, soft and tasty! Salmon was generous and delicious. This was a real winner! Thanks, folks!

Yelp
Excellent service and food!! The owners are nice and their magnolia desserts are delicious

Cem Emir S.

Yelp
Staff was great! Food was amazing! I loved the rice bowl with Salmon. It was clean and cool place!

Hellmut M.

Yelp
The fish was breaded in a very thick, mushy and very salty dough. The place was loud and not very inviting over all.

Cynthia E.

Yelp
New spot inside the Public Market.. had the 3 pc fish + chips: fish was very fresh and good portions: not at all salty or oily, which is usually the case with these entrees; fish was perfectly cooked, tender, flaky and moist. I really appreciate that it was cooked to order and not reheated; the batter was light and crisp. Hope the quality stays consistent. Staff who took and gave my order was very nice and appreciative. They have other seafood entrees and appetizers as well. Finally found my new fish + chips place.

Robin S.

Yelp
This place is amazing. It was way better than excepted. I will go back for sure! I got a 2 pcs and fries. It was plenty. Order a 3 pcs for my client!!!!

Michael C.

Yelp
Amazing food, staff is great and don't forget about DESSERT..!!!!!!!!!! Emeryville prices of course but the clean veggies are worth it.

Andy H.

Yelp
Great bowls and fish and chips! And the banana pudding is heavenly! And the service is very friendly.

Zeynep

Yelp
Great new addition to the Public Market. The crab sandwich and calamari were fresh and tasty, and the tartar sauce was the best I've had in a while. Friendly staff as well - looking forward to trying out the rest of the menu.
