Where to Find Festive Whiskey Cocktails in LA | Eater

"The most expert holiday hack of all? Skipping the TSA line altogether and opting for a staycation, especially if it involves booking a night or two at Le Méridien, which is perfectly situated between the Los Angeles County Arboretum (and their magical yearly Lightscape) and Santa Anita Park in Arcadia. While the location is prime, you’ll find you might not even need to leave the hotel property to eat and be merry, with all the on-property dining options a short elevator ride away. But don’t let a hotel reservation stop you from a good time. Even if you live nearby, you can’t go wrong with dining at any of the restaurants, especially with a Black Barrel Manhattan in hand. Slide into one of Mélange’s swanky turquoise velvet booths to pair this cold-weather cocktail with a ribeye, pop in for a quick afternoon tea or something a bit stiffer at the High Tea Lounge, or enjoy a night cap at the modern Longitude 118 cocktail bar. It might just become your new holiday tradition." - Mackenzie Filson

I had a very pleasant stay at Le Méridien Arcadia, made even better by receiving an unexpected upgrade. The room was impressively spacious, and the large bathtub was definitely a highlight — perfect for relaxing after a long day. I also appreciated having a water kettle in the room, something not every hotel in this category provides. However, the space isn’t ideal if you’re traveling for work. There’s no proper workstation or desk setup, which made it difficult to get things done efficiently. I also found myself wishing there were more power outlets — especially near the bed and seating areas. Overall, a stylish and comfortable stay with good leisure amenities, but business travelers might find the room setup a bit limiting.

I booked this hotel through Travelocity in a package deal and I was able to get reasonable rates for two rooms for my family. The rooms were nice, modern and clean. Staff was very friendly. Bar was great and the bartenders were great too! They even can oak smoke. Enhance your bourbon if you want! Overall I would say this hotel was excellent! And the beds were like sleeping on cloud. 9, were very nice. Pillows and bedding! Would highly recommend!

Google
Probably a bit of a generous rating at 4-stars. More accurately 3 1/2. Best feature is proximity to Santa Anita. Lobby bar was great. Restaurant rather limited. Rooms very ordinary. Service mediocre. Staff uniformly pleasant. Overpriced, but what isn't these days.

I loved this place. I’ve stayed here routinely for 3 years when in town. Imo this WAS the best place to stay in the area. But.. this last time around I brought my stick shift collectors vehicle. They only offer valet parking. I talked to staff and told them my clutch is tricky so I’d like to park my own vehicle in the spot. They said ok. They also said they would block one spot off for me. On the second day at night they put a warning sticker on my window to tell me to move my car. To keep my car from being towed I was forced to park in the rear lot. My vehicle was then damaged by some one’s door 3 times over night. This 660$ 2 night stay is now going to cost me closer to $1660 after repairs. You have lost my business for life nationwide. ASP parking will be your downfall.

I would like to commend Le Méridien for its outstanding level of service. It is truly a pleasure to work with Blanca, the Sales Manager, in planning and coordinating our corporate events and assisting with hotel bookings for our guests. Her exceptional professionalism, responsiveness, and expertise contribute significantly to a smooth and well-organized planning process. I confidently recommend Blanca and the team at Le Méridien for any event-related needs.

Extremely comfortable rooms. The food is delicious as it looks I highly recommend dining there, even if you don't stay. Conveniently located close to Keck medicine, near golf courses in Santa Anita race track. Very safe location

It’s terrible experience here, the staff here was not willing to response for anything and make you like you are begging for something When we checked in, the staff forgot to provide us with breakfast coupons and did not inform us about the breakfast at all. We had to ask everything by ourselves, and due to their mistakes, we had to go back to the front desk multiple times. At one point, we were told that we could use two coupons on the same day. The server was unsure and said they needed to check with the manager, but later confirmed it was allowed. Based on that information, we ordered an $80 breakfast, believing we could use the coupons. However, after we had almost finished eating, another staff member came and told us we could not use two coupons at once. I explained that the previous server had already checked with the manager and told us it was fine. The staff simply replied, “I don’t know why they said that, but it’s not allowed,” and insisted that we had to pay an additional $50. I asked who I could speak to about this, but the staff just said, “You can ask, but the policy is the policy,” and even mentioned they didn’t think a manager was available. Then they left. Shortly after, the previous server returned, dropped the bill on the table, said we had to pay, and walked away without any explanation or responsibility. Nobody took ownership of the situation, and even when I asked the front desk, they just said they didn’t know what happened. Regardless of hotel policies, there was a complete lack of respect for the guest experience. My stay over the past two days has been filled with frustration and disappointment. Even as a Platinum member, I was treated worse than at a basic motel where I check in on my own—yet here I still had to pay extra tips for poor service. On top of that, I had requested a crib and late checkout multiple times (at least four times), but the crib was only brought to the room much later after check-in. Every request had to be repeated with different staff, which shows a complete lack of communication within the hotel. Overall, this was an unacceptable experience for a property under such a brand.

I travel to Pasadena every other week and Le Meridian has become my go to. Been a business traveler for 20 years and this hotel stands far above the vast majority. The rooms are very well designed with a lot of light, and the staff! From valet to check in to the bar and restaurant to housekeeping, they were are incredibly cheerful, friendly and helpful. Have NEVER received this level of consistently good service. The bar and open area is very conducive to comfortable working, which is tough for road warriors. The large bat area means there is always a seat to work and have dinner and a drink. The outdoor patio area is my favorite as it is a green oasis to decompress in Well done Le Meridian! Please don’t change.

Yelp
We recently hosted Dawson Company's 77th Anniversary Party at Le Méridien, and I can't say enough great things about the experience! Our guests were absolutely blown away by the beautiful venue, flawless service, and especially the exceptional food--I received countless compliments throughout the night. We've held past company celebrations at impressive venues such as The Queen Mary, Pechanga Resort, and the Santa Anita Racetrack, but this event at Le Méridien was, by far, everyone's favorite. The combination of elegant ambiance, delicious cuisine, and seamless execution made the evening truly unforgettable. A huge thank you to the entire Le Méridien team for their professionalism, attention to detail, and warm hospitality. You made our milestone celebration spectacular from start to finish. I can't recommend this venue highly enough!

Yelp
I'm going to preface this by saying my experience was two years ago, and I just realized I never hit post. If I could give zero stars, I would. I cannot stress enough how TERRIBLE Le Meridien was from the get go. I should have trusted my spidey senses with this one, y'all. When we booked our hotel block for the wedding, which didn't give us a great discount because it was "peak season" or something. Whatever, we were more concerned with making sure everyone had a place to stay. However, then they sent us someone else's contract accidentally and it was literally over a hundred dollars cheaper per night for a smaller group. So I reach back out and they were like "Well, that's just how it is." Okay, whatever. Wedding date gets closer and my brother reaches out and asks if it's okay if he doesn't use the hotel block. Because it's CHEAPER to book online (not even using membership or points or anything) than use the "discounted" hotel block. Shady, but whatever. A few more weeks pass. The wedding weekend is here! We go to check in. We're so excited! We've put the past behind us. We get upstairs, after our key doesn't properly work and they can't do the key cards the way they agreed to previously (to give our guests access to the hospitality suite) so like, why did we pay for the suite? Whatever. We get up there, and our room has not been cleaned. Dirty sheets, banana peel and other trash, a USED RAZOR in the bathroom. From the last guest, NOT from us. We let the front desk know, they apologize and say that they'll clean it up. Well, we get back and they did a turn down service from the looks of it. Trash still there, razor still there, so I don't trust that they actually changed the sheets. At this point, I go home, letting them know that our room is STILL dirty and request CLEAN sheets. I do a tiny tiny little marking on the tag in washable pen so that I can confirm that this time, they actually change the sheets into clean sheets. Y'all!! They. Did. Not. They continued to leave someone else's dirty sheets on the bed! So, in the morning when I got there and checked for my little pen mark let them know that I knew they didn't change them and I literally brought them the dirty sheets and was like, "Please, please just give me clean sheets." They were like, "Well how do you know we didn't change them," and they were more concerned with policing my tone and my washable pen mark than their dirty sheets. They refunded me for the night I couldn't sleep there, after an arduous battle, but that's it. I cannot stress this enough: DO NOT USE THIS PLACE FOR A HOTEL BLOCK. They will smile and promise you amazing things (and it looks amazing!) and then nickel and dime you every step of the way. The place is disorganized, dirty, the left hand doesn't know what the right is doing, and it's impossible to reach leadership. Save yourself the trouble--just use the DoubleTree down the street. Our guests wish they had.

Yelp
WOW. Talk about amazing hospitality service!!! my first time staying here, as it was highly recommended from others, it was right by, LITERALLY next to the Santa Anita Park, so location was perfect! My friend & I were celebrating our long years of friendship since she was in town visiting & I absolutely loveeee that the hotel sent us a bottle of champagne along with 2 glasses & a bowl of fruit.

Yelp
Attended "Raise the Roof" - SGV Habitat for Humanity Annual Gala at this beautiful hotel. The event was successful and raised a lot of money. Had an amazing time with great friends and enjoyed a wonderful meal. The service from the Parking attendance to the servers was excellent!

Yelp
Brought my friend here for afternoon high tea to celebrate her birthday, and we had a great time! It was super easy to make a reservation online via Opentable. Upon arrival, we were seated at the beautiful blue couches by the windows in the corner of the lobby, which surprised me because we weren't inside the restaurant. But it was very comfortable and we had a lot of space to ourselves. For $68 per person, you get a choice between a sparkling lavender lemonade mocktail or a glass of champagne. We both opted for the lavender lemonade and they were so beautiful with a gradient purple - definitely a cute instagramable drink. For the hot tea, they have 4 teas to choose from, and you can get unlimited refills. We got the Oolong Caramel Brûlée and the Jardin Bleu to share - both were delicious. I did prefer the Oolong Caramel more. The food comes on the standard 3 tier plates, and was decorated with beautiful flowers and happy birthday chocolates. Definitely tasted better and was of higher quality than other tea spots I've been to, although I wasn't as full. My favorites were the pumpkin curry soup and the egg salad pastry! What would've made their afternoon tea stand out is if they replaced all the boring plain white chinaware with ones with cute designs. Afternoon tea is all about the vibes, so that would be my only complaint. They do charge an automatic 21% service charge, which is mentioned on Opentable. Our server deserved it though as she was very helpful and sweet, refilling our teas multiple times. She even took her time taking photos for us and checked up on us often. Parking is valet only and the restaurant validates for 3 hours. Hotel is very beautiful, with nice restrooms and a little outdoor section that you can chill at.

Yelp
This review is solely for the afternoon tea service. We made a reservation at 11:00am on a Friday, so it was quiet until there was a screaming baby in the same area since it is the same space as breakfast lunch and dinner. overall the food was pretty standard. Nothing stood out. We had to wait for quite a bit for the soup to come out; after half of our set was eaten. the scones were...not traditional kind; they were chocolate chips and uneven in size, provided butter and jam (no clotted cream). I was really looking forward to the ube cupcake with matcha icing. To be frank, I couldn't tell the difference if they were mini chocolate cupcakes with frosting from the bakery from local grocery store. for $68 + 21% service charge, I am not sure if i would pay a visit again.

Yelp
My favorite part of my stay was the outdoor heated pool that opens up nice and early, 6 AM, which is super for my work schedule! Stays open late as well. Valet parking is required, which is not ideal for me as I like to come and go as I please, but the Valet staff were especially kind, welcoming, and super fast and efficient!! I got my car in fewer than 5 minutes each morning, even at 7 AM which should be a busy time for them. Beds and shower- both amazing!! The extra duvet was appreciated. Loved my spacious room and functional mini-fridge that actually kept my food cold!

Yelp
Le Meridien Hotel is located in Arcadia right across Huntington Dr. from Santa Anita Racetrack and Mall. It's a high end hotel with a restaurant/bar. The property is not big and the entire perimeter of is used for parking. Only paid Valet parking available. The lobby and the restaurant/ bar of the hotel is spacious but deserted. The rooms were ok but our bathroom only had a shower. Apart from the valet there was not a lot of interaction. Service was adequate. Low energy vibe. Neither the restaurant or bar the only amenities was not inviting with no one there. You can see the small pool from the window as you check in with the pool rule signs taking up the view.

Yelp
It is a beautiful hotel. I have Never stayed here before. The staff representative at the front desk was very nice. We were tired from our drive and it was a little early to check but she accommodated us. I love coming to a place where i haven't stayed and get treated very well. The rooms were pretty standard size but it was nice. It was clean, modern, and smelled good. We had the view of the park across the street which was ok. It was that or the courtyard. I was with two teenagers and they loved the pool. The hotel also has a very lovely restaurant, bar, and cafe. The restaurant is a bit pricey but it is LA. But the staff there are very nice as well. My family and I had a lovely experience here. The hotel maybe pricey for some people but I think it depends on the time and season. But, I'd come back here again. FYI: this spot is a short drive to Universal Studios and Disneyland.

Yelp
Le Meridien is a relatively new hotel with a great view of the race track. The room was nicely appointed and could easily be used for business work. Most of the lights are on an automation system that would make it possible to manage energy usage when the room is not occupied. This is a nice touch. In fact, I think we could turn off most lights with a single button but not 100% certain. Of the many Marriotts I have stayed at, this one isn't in my top 50. I chalk that up to being new with an un-seasoned management staff. Restaurant execution was less than great and we never saw the restaurant manager. The last day, the bill was hard to decipher since they started charging a gratuity for the elite breakfasts. In our case, we'd always tip on the full amount before the elite discount but it was hard to figure out what they did differently that day. The hotel manager was also clueless what the bill should look like. Be advised, we stayed there over the July 4th weekend. At that time they had no EV destination charger. Really? Pasadena isn't known for a great charging destination so this was an unpleasant surprise for a new hotel.

Yelp
We checked in last minute via Hotwire so that we didn't have to drive back to palm springs after a concert at the Arboretum. What a beautiful hotel! Warm contemporary design that was spot on and very tasteful. Greys, off whites, beiges, rusts, warm woods, various geometric textures. A few contemporary French touches. Valet only ($31 + tip) , which I don't tend to like, because I sometimes carry expensive equipment in my car and of course the hotel absolves itself of any liability for theft. But our front desk agent Alyssa (I apologize, I may have this spelling wrong) was exceptional in ensuring that this was communicated to the parking staff so that the car was parked where visible to security cameras. In fact, she was one of the most welcoming and attentive agents I've ever experienced at a hotel. The hotel is pricey, with a Nestlé Chocolate chip ice cream sandwich costing $9 and a large water in the room costing $6. But there was one medium complimentary water bottle plus coffee and espresso in the room. They have room service and a restaurant for various meals plus high tea. The rack rate for the room was about $210 but our Hotwire rate was only. $120, about $151 after taxes and fees. No resort fee. That was a deal for a place at this quality level. The room was exceptional with beautful wallpaper and very high ceilings. Wonderful glass shower with wand. Barn door for the water closet. Large screen TV. Work desk. Comfy bed, firm but plush. NO signs saying that cleaning services were only every other day. Lovely view. The staff was as polite and welcoming as they could possibly be, with warm greetings from each staff member as you passed them. This hotel (parent company Marriott) was a very welcome surprise and was worth the splurge. It made us feel special and appreciated.

Yelp
Wonderful experience at the Le Méridien Pasadena Arcadia! This is probably our favorite mid-high priced LA hotel. The value you get here is well worth the money spent. First of all the rooms are gorgeous, they are artfully decorated, modern, and the bathrooms are outrageously beautiful. We were staying in the one bedroom suite. It was one of their smaller one bedroom suites because we got it as a complimentary upgrade because of our platinum status with the hotel. The shower had 2 rainfall shower heads and a hand held shower head, and it was so big 10 people could be standing inside. It had duel vanities and a separate potty room. The breakfast at this hotel is one of my favorite parts of the stay. We love the karage fried chicken and waffle and the stuffed Nutella French toast rolls. So their fried chicken isn't like normal fried chicken, it's done Japanese style and it's so good, I've never had better fried chicken! The batter isn't heavy but it's super crunchy, and melts in your mouth on the inside of it. The French toast rolls are crazy good too, if you love natella, chocolate and berries you're gonna love it. The matcha smoothie is good too, but warning it's very earthy, if you want the matcha to taste more milky ask them to dilute it with some milk.

Yelp
Fantastic hotel stay. My GF and I wanted to get away for the weekend and found this gem. Our stay couldn't have been better. The hotel and the room were beautiful and very clean. The view from the room was nice especially in the morning seeing the hills with the morning sun just lovely. I got to experience the bar, restaurant, and valet service. All of them exceeded expectations. Staff was amazing and very respectful of our needs. Food and drinks served were delicious. I would happily stay here agin in the future and highly recommend people to try it out when they stay in this area.

Yelp
For the Afternoon tea as there is no other Yelp page for that. Came on a Sunday afternoon for some afternoon tea with my mom. We made a reservation online which was easy and didn't require a down payment so that was nice. When we arrive, they only have valet parking, however, the restaurant does validate for three hours, so that was really nice to not have to worry about that. Once you go inside, the restaurant is right on the right side and you just wait for the host to see you. It seem like a pretty new hotel so everything was very new and very modern style. It was pretty quiet, so that was nice as well. After a few minutes, we were shown to our seats and given the menus of what would be served today. Since it wasn't very busy, it was really nice and felt like we had a lot of space to ourselves. We then ordered our tea flavors which were both really good. However, I do have some comments on that. The teas at this place offer a looseleaf tea which we were interested in and both ordered. Unfortunately, since the looseleaf tea is loose in the tea pot, unlike in other places where it may be in a bag that can be removed after a certain period of time, the tea became very bitter. Additionally, the tea pots did not have a candle or heater under so it became cold really quickly. We were also offered champagne or a mock tail, which opted for the mock tails because we both drove. It was actually really tasty and I liked that drink a lot. The tea set also came with a Brussell sprout soup which was nice and warm. It was pretty good as well. The sets came with 2 tea sandwiches and a few savory appetizers. The gerkin wrapped in prosciutto was interesting but they really skimped on the prosciutto, cause there was barely any on. The duck pate was good as well as the crostini with red wine poached pear on Brie. That was my favorite. The next level was the scones, and cake desserts. I was surprised that there was no cream or jam served with the scones which is typical. However, the scones were crunchy on the outside and soft on the inside with good flavor. However, the one my mom picked up was a bit wet and undercooked inside so we avoided that one. The cake was cook but by the time we got to it the frosting had melted off. The top layer was more desserts. The blueberry mousse was good but the gram cracker bottom was 6/10. Overall you will be full by this tea set and the ambiance felt more classy and modern which is nice and I liked. For the price it's not too bad compared to other places. But I would say that I did enjoy my experience, I hope they make changes to improve before I return. Server was also nice she did check on us a few times.

Tiffany M.

Yelp
Maddie at the front desk is amazing! She is very patient and explains all the amenities clearly. I will definitely return because of her outstanding customer service.

Russell T.

Yelp
Good courteous service. Breakfast was reasonably priced and tasty. Choices were somewhat limited but basically covered usual breakfast options.

Yelp
NOTE: This is for the Afternoon Tea Experience at Le Meridien Arcadia and not about the hotel itself. (I could not find a Yelp listing for just the Afternoon Tea) I recently had Afternoon Tea here, and I'm so glad I gave it a try despite some mixed reviews on OpenTable. The experience exceeded my expectations! The tea service offered a perfect balance of savory and sweet bites, from tea sandwiches and tartlets to a cup of soup, macarons, cinnamon scones, and chocolate pudding. I was pleasantly surprised at how full I felt by the end--don't let the small bites fool you! My tea choice, the Jardin Bleu black tea, was a delightful pairing with everything. The service was top-notch; our waitress checked on us frequently to make sure we had everything we needed. Another perk--although the hotel is valet parking only, the restaurant validates parking for up to 3 hours, so it was hassle-free. The ambiance added to the charm. The velvet blue couches made the space feel cozy and chic, perfect for a girls' afternoon out. Highly recommend! Don't be fooled by the negative reviews!

Yelp
This is a relatively new hotel in the Arcadia area. Upon arrival, the valet service was attentive with the luggage. The check-in was quick and helpful. It's a good size hotel room. We didn't have a good view, just overseeing the empty construction lot. The shower is good and I like they have the water softener. The sink area is a little small for two people. The swimming pool was small, and it was close to the driveway. The bar area is nice and relaxing. We hang out around the lounge area with a few love seats just to relax in a hot day. We didn't eat at the hotel restaurant as we made reservations for dinner somewhere. Overall, it's a decent hotel and pricing is reasonable in the area.

Yelp
Nice stay, comfortable rooms and amenities and location. Good ambience, food and drinks. Shoutout to the guys at the Latitude, Sinjin and Stefano, very nice, fun and professional guys. Great customer service and great team work! John was friendly and nice as well and helpful at the check out. Stayed in San Francisco, same hotel, wasn't the same experience. This one is really elevated.

Yelp
I came for an event in the ballroom that included dinner. First of all, please note that you have to pay for valet parking. Dinner started with a scant lettuce salad, followed by a choice of steak and shrimp, salmon or vegetarian. Most of my table had the steak and shrimp. The shrimp and fried rice were good but the steak was like the thin type you get at Denny's - tough and dry. It ended with tiramisu dessert which was not authentic. I was waiting for a dessert fork but was informed to use my tea/coffee spoon. That may explain why coffee/tea was not served. Didn't get to see much of the hotel outside of the function room on the ground floor.

Yelp
Came to Le Meridien for a networking mixer with MegaMIX and I loved everything about this place even down to the valet parking! Thank you Demetri from APS parking services for the warm welcome!

Yelp
I've stayed at this hotel twice already and the location is really great! Super close to a mall for food and shopping and easily accessible to other locations in SoCal. The hotel is fairly new and feels very clean. room: the room is not huge but it's enough. the room overall felt really clean which is always nice. On the contrary, the bedding felt quite thin and cheap in my opinion. service: the service during check in was great! They were able to accommodate my early check in. However they do tend to be a bit slower when you are calling for a room requests. parking: valet parking for $29. overall: overall i would probably stay back if I needed to be in the area again!
google avatar

Yelp
Recently visited this property with a large group for a corporate offsite meaning. From the moment I pulled my car into the valet area I found the property to be quiet and inviting. All of the staff members that I came in contact with were professional and eager to meet our needs. The rooms were spacious and made for the perfect staycation near the race track.

Yelp
Front desk is fantastic. Restaurant (Room service) was pretty good for salmon and burgers. The dessert felt like they ordered it off site. Flourless chocolate cake looked like a $12 version of a little Debbie cupcake. Bathroom smelled a bit moldy but the room itself was clean and comfortable.

Lauren T.

Yelp
Stayed there for one night on 6/19/25. The best part of the hotel was the location. The high chairs in the room and the duvet cover were stained. The pump of shampoo bottle did not work. We have a handicapped placard for our vehicle. The valet gentleman told us to park at any handicapped parking spaces for free and Di at the front desk also confirmed the information. However, there was no space available. We were forced to valet and was told by the gentleman that we would not be charged for the valet fee $31. Upon check out, we were charged for $31 valet fee. After speaking to Aaron at the front desk on 6/20 around 6:40am, he offered to credit us $31 valet fee. Our final statement still showed no credit. Very disappointing experience. Would not return as a disabled person.

Yelp
Had the chance to stay here for a conference last April. Was told about the parking situation so wasn't surprised about the "only valet" parking. For the most part of the stay, it was good. Employees were nice and helpful. The room was nice and clean...low on the hair conditioner but not a biggie. Breakfast for us participants was good...loved the bacon! The coffee, teas, and water during the seminars were filled up always. Dinner was a choice between salmon or chicken...tad salty for salmon. Chocolate cake dessert was just ok. It was a good stay...well it was paid for...can't complain!

Jon U.

Yelp
DONT SELF PARK, ONLY VALET. They slap this unnecessarily big sticker on your car window and the glue is a pain to get off. Use better labels please!

Yelp
Good hospitality, breakfast was delicious, clean and attentive. Front desk was very accommodating, helpful offered water as we were checking in. Valet service only, gets charged to your room. Very nice hotel, super impressive, will come again if in the area again. Nutella French toast was my favorite! A must have before checking out.

Yelp
I have had numerous stays at this hotel and it is top notch all the way. I hope they never change the decor or all its amenities. The staff are all amazing. I have never had any bad experiences with staff. This makes me think that their management and their owners treat them very well. I will always pick this hotel to stay in when i'm in the area. Thanks for another great stay.

Yelp
Gio, Elena, and Stefano are great bartenders and always have the best suggestions for their customers. Drinks, meals or a night out on the town. Le Meridian bar tenders will have the perfect evening laid out for you... but you have to ask

Yelp
**All I Wanted Was a Peaceful Mother's Day...** This year, I decided to treat myself to a Mother's Day *escape*--a quiet night away at a nice hotel where I could relax by the pool while the kids entertained themselves. Instead, I got... a very different kind of getaway. First, I discovered the hotel doubles as a live concert venue. Apparently, the third floor is *not* soundproof, and at 9pm, my bedtime story soundtrack became a full-volume 80s cover band absolutely *shredding* "We Will Rock You." Add a choir of very drunk, very loud people outside shouting the lyrics like they were auditioning for "Bohemian Rhapsody: The Opera," and you can imagine the bedtime vibes. I called the front desk and was told the music would end at 10pm--which it did, but I think my kids are still vibrating from the bass. Then, there's the parking situation. Valet only. \$31. No exceptions. Just hand over the keys and your dignity. And the cherry on top? Someone *vomited* in the pool. I repeat: *vomited*. The hotel staff's response? "Oops." That was it. Not a "we're closing the pool to clean it" or "let's test the water," just a casual shrug and the pool stayed open like it was a *suggestion*, not a biohazard. My kids were IN the pool at the time. Meanwhile, I saw the vomiter's dad sipping on a beer... at 9:30am. In fairness, I contacted the hotel and they comped my breakfast--which, at that point, felt like handing me a band-aid after a car crash. I paid \$339 for a single night of chaos, noise, and concern that my kids may now be part-chlorine, part-whatever-that-was in the water. I get that hotels can't control everything, but... yikes.

Yelp
This weekend was my 3rd visit to Le Meridien Pasadena Arcadia for High Tea. My party and I were all underwhelmed and disappointed in what will be our final visit. First, there were multiple gnats and flies around the hotel bar, lounge and restaurant. We had to fight them off and fan them away from our food and drinks. Second, the loose leaf teas we ordered were not restrained in the teapot (as they were in previous visits). This took away from the tea sipping experience because we constantly had to take the leaves and stems out of our mouths. Lastly, the new lady assisting us (Scarlett) and the new manager were both nice and professional, but not as present, welcoming or accommodating as the previous young lady (Lisa). Many simple requests we've had in past visits (which were offered complimentary then), were met with a 'no' or 'that'll be an extra charge' during this visit. Overall, this latest experience seemed unsanitary and quite off-putting. We are definitely in search of a new venue for High Tea.

Yelp
My husband & I stayed at this hotel after the race track. It is very contemporary & so nice. The rooms are spacious & the view of the mountains was beautiful. It felt like we were in another country. The bar area has nice couches with big screen TVs. It felt so comfortable & cozy. The service was great Stefano & Sinyin were so nice & helpful. We ordered the burgers. They were delicious & so were the cocktails. I highly recommend stopping by & checking it out!

Yelp
I was excited to stay in one of the corner suites at this upscale hotel near the Santa Anita mall. As a platinum member, I had the option of 1k points or breakfast at the restaurant for you and a guest up to $19 (cost of continental breakfast, but you didn't have to choose this). This review received a 1 star because for a fancy hotel, I expected more. It wasn't bad but just not what I expected. Front desk service: Polite, but not warm. My room had a "king" sized bed, but it wasn't a Cal King or a Standard King, so keep that in mind if you're a large or tall person. My feet were hanging off the bed all night, making it difficult to sleep. You're probably fine if you're 5'5" or shorter. If you're a basketball player, I doubt you'll be able to stay here. I think the bed was slightly larger than a Queen, but I don't travel with a measuring tape so I can't be sure. This was the first time I'd ever slept in a hotel room with a fake king bed. It was a surreal experience. When I mentioned this to the front desk, the woman acknowledged that it had been a complaint in the past but stated that it is the largest bed they offer, then stared at me blankly. I awkwardly left. Morning coffee: The first batch was delicious (seriously, SO GOOD), the second was burned. The coffee ran out fast at 7am in the morning. I don't really know how to feel about this. Parking is valet only but you can get residential street parking if you apply for an overnight permit with the city. There was also a promotion that if you spend $75/night at the hotel's restaurant, then your valet parking would be comped too. I wouldn't stay here again because I don't fit in the bed. And it makes me anxious now for future hotel stays at the Marriott brand because I'm wondering if newer brands are making the beds smaller now too.

Yelp
Staycation time! We wanted to get a room for the weekend and chose Le Meridien as our next adventure after reading the reviews. It's located directly across the street from the Santa Anita Racetrack. Parking is valet only (self-park is not an option) so be ready for that. The valet crew were all nice and they hustled for the cars. We booked a king-sized bed and wound up in room 303. The biggest thing that we look for whenever we stay anywhere is cleanliness. We always wipe down the room ourselves just because you never know. Le Meridien passed with flying colors and was perfectly clean! Always a huge/welcome relief! The room is pretty standard with a bed, lounge chair, desk, etc. Bathroom is open-door. You're going to want the shades down to cover your room's window - when we arrived, the shades were completely open so we could see the view. There's a clear view of the back and a clear view of everyone else's rooms that didn't cover their windows (both from our room and from ground level). We're not about that exhibition life! We didn't have any problems with our stay and would gladly come back. Every staff member we interacted with were nice and professional. Room was modern and clean. No loud neighbors to deal with. Le Meridien is a perfectly fine choice for a getaway!

Yelp
Beautiful hotel and nice to see something new in the area. Why a 2 Star review, first no self parking and valet is $42 a night. Even with work paying for parking, still kind of pricey. Had a problem checking in, the actual check in was fine but they provided me with an accessible room so had to get new room. Here is the BIG climate controlled room, I'm a 69 degree sleeper, the room indicates a temp of 65 but there is no way that room got below 72 degrees. I provided my concerns at check out and they stated that I should have called to switch rooms.....really at 4am, no Thanks. Anyways if you like it warm this is your great hotel for you.

Yelp
Beautiful hotel with amazing customer service! We came up to LA for a girls trip and stayed in Hollywood for a couple of days for an event. We decided to stay over an extra day to see a friend's performance and found this gorgeous venue nearby the concert location we were going to. The impeccable service and reception began as soon as we parked at valet. We were greeted promptly and even though our room was not ready they valeted the car and took our bags and held them in storage while we had lunches and then went across to the Shops at Santa Anita. We received a call about 40 minutes later that our room was ready. We returned to the hotel and they had already put our bags in the room and had the air conditioning set so the room was completely comfortable. We puttered about a bit and then went and walked around the grounds which were gorgeous and had a couple of drinks at the bar. I had a piece of equipment malfunction and stain my favourite outfit and I was devastated! I went to the front desk and the desk manager was so kind and helpful. I was able to calm down and not completely meltdown. We repeated our dining experience and went back to Melange for dinner. Dinner was delicious! We shared the chopped salad, the butter lettuce salad, a charcuterie board, and crispy Brussels sprouts. Our server was so sweet and catered to all of our demands for more sauce. She made the meal that much better. This morning we all woke up from an amazing night's sleep fully rested and lazy and took our time preparing to depart. We ordered room service which was delivered so quickly we were stunned! I had a custom omelette which came with crispy homefires and grapefruit juice. My friend has the açai bowl. We both finished our meals that's how good they were. Sadly we had to get our tushies up and get repacked and check out this afternoon. This was one of the best hotel experiences I've had in a few years and cannot wait to stay here again or at another of their properties. Thank you, Le Meridian!

Yelp
Love love love. I actually permanently reside around the hotel and just wanted to try out the hotel. Stayed for 2 nights and the experience was phenomenal. Valet was kind and attentive. Scan the QR code on the ticket they give you and they bring the car out so you don't have to wait. Rooms are actually pretty big for the price. Gym was super clean and came with chilled towel and all the necessary equipment for an effective workout. Plus, the gym is open 24hrs (AMAZING). The in room amenities were also outstanding. I didn't expect them to have toothbrushes, slippers, shower caps, etc since they are a 4 star hotel. But to my surprise, they were stocked up on all of those things. They only provide one bottle of water for free. However, there is a water machine that dispenses delicious and crisp water at the gym for free. So bring a water bottle and don't pay for the $6 waters. One of the best hotels I've stayed at at that price point. I even dare to say it's comparable to Waldorf Astoria or JW Marriott.

Yelp
3.5 stars rounded up to 4 stars. The hotel is centrally located close to the Santa Anita Shopping Center and Chinese food central like San Gabriel. The hotel was modern and clean and the staff was very nice. Any time we requested something, someone showed up promptly and took care of things. The staff of the valet parking was also very nice. One of my biggest complaints was the size of the bathroom. The bathroom was one of the tiniest I've been to in the area. The sink and countertop were very small. Because the sink was so small and narrow, it's easy for water to splash everywhere. Although the staff of the valet parking was very nice, it's rather pricey and valet parking was the only parking option. Overall, nice hotel to stay at if you don't mind the tiny bathroom.

Yelp
Trying Le Meridien one more time.. we stayed here last weekend. The previous room we had was a corner room. - the tv (from the ceiling was a neck breaker) it doesn't come down - the usb outlet on the right side of the bed does not work - no vent in the shower/sink area And this time, we're staying in the executive king bed room.. - the bathroom door is a safety hazard to whoever is standing at the sink - the space is very close - shower pressure is weak - vanity mirror lacks proper lights - vent directly over bed (not ideal for sleeping) - usb outlet on the right side of the bed does not work (I guess this is their signature style) - no vent in the shower/sink area (must be another signature style) - the deadbolts lock is broken The hotel design lacks those small detail consideration for guest comfort. Don't we all love rooftop views? Our room overlook the courtyard and a bit of the racetrack. And the rooftop of the ballroom. And the cherry on the top, when the hotel cannot honor their word. Front desk agent agreed at checked in for late checkout. Then basically calling our room to tell us the hotel is fully booked and they cannot honor their word anymore. And of course, we had to call reservations to find out how "fully booked" it is. Per reservation, they got plenty to offer. A little positivity to end the review, I like their leather chairs and the full length mirror in the walk-in closet (skinny mirror reflection). Haha.

Yelp
If you're looking for great food and incredible customer service, consider coming to melange , the restaurant in Le Meridian. If you're lucky enough, you'll get Rachel and have the most incredible Customer service ever! Thank you again Rachael for making my stay so wonderful and taking such good care of me :-)

Yelp
A huge thank you to Mike from the valet team. After I unknowingly drove 20 minutes away from the hotel without my car key, Mike went above and beyond. Even after I told him to stop searching, he thoroughly checked the street multiple times and ultimately found the key lying in the middle of the road. He then personally delivered it to my location. Truly outstanding service.

Yelp
The employees were nice but that's about the only good thing I can say about this place. I pulled up and was pretty confused by the parking situation, drove around the property and learned that only valet available. Once I got that taken care of, went inside and found the lounge - was told by three separate workers at the hostess stand that "i'll be right with you", but I was left standing there for a good 5 min. The lobby bathroom was not tidy, and was out of stock on TP in some stalls and seat covers in others, which is extremely surprising for a four star hotel. The (holiday) high tea set was subpar for the price ($65), the selection of teas was good but the pastries were disappointing. Many of the flavors tasted artificial, and the finger sandwiches ... the bread was almost hard. I was not happy that there is automatic gratuity at 20% for a party of 3. Esp since my server failed to bring water, even after I asked twice. My total bill was $260 after tip + tax ... I've gotten way better quality of tea, food and service for half the price elsewhere.

Yelp
OMG, I came here 2 wks in a roll for 2 different birthday events. The whole staff is so nice, from the parking tenants, to host at the birthday event, to the staff/waitress at the restaurant, I would rate this hotel 10+, I can't wait to stay the night here, my cousin told me, the Managers are so nice too, I hope to meet them and tell them they're doing an outstanding job, I work for AT&T, and we may come here to have a party. I must add, the women's bathroom was clean, very classy, my grand daughter says, the bathroom reminds her of the restaurant Mastro's. That's a great compliment from a 10tr old. I will be back again.

Yelp
Terrible customer service, staff completely unresponsive. The restaurant & bar staff completely ignored me as I waited to be seated and to order.

Yelp
Great experience staying at this property, very clean, staff was courteous and helpful. The bed was super comfortable and the location was safe and quiet. Valet only which was the only downside as I like to park my own car. Thank you for the great experience.

Yelp
This hotel is nice. It's my go to when I stay in the area. The rooms are clean and updated, the staff is friendly and it is located close to the 210 to travel around. The area and ridiculously (in a good away) close to the racetrack. Why drop a star? Well I've had some weird issues with this place. This weekend was the second time I've stayed here in a year. Both times the online check in/digital room key did not work. I've done this at other Marriott locations with no problem. Second, I'm a Marriott rewards member and was supposed to get free wifi but it wouldn't work the whole 4 days I spent there. I coulda asked for help, but was just annoyed enough to not want to ask. Lastly, people get absolutely hammered here. There was a guy that was so drunk the first time I stayed here that when I get out of my vehicle, he started to get in before I had to physically pull him out. The staff did what they could with him but the police showed up shortly after to take him away. He's not the only person I've seen completely obliterated here. Maybe the bar there should cut people off a bit earlier. Again, this is my go to place and I will continue to stay here. It is nice and staff is good. The above things were minor but notable.

Yelp
This was some of the best service from hotel staff to bar. I especially enjoyed hanging with Stefano et al. very cool crew. Ask for them when you visit!
