Akuna

"In tune with the restaurant’s name, meaning “flowing water” in the Australian Aboriginal language, the 1,200 light rods hung around the open kitchen evoke a shimmering stream at sunset. Just like flowing water, Chef Aisbett weaves and bends the rules as he casts unexpected light on familiar produce, both local and imported. In the tasting menu, creative European dishes with Vietnamese influences never fail to wow. Aussie and international wine pairing available." - Michelin Inspector

I truly hope everyone takes the time to read this review. I also hope you will always believe that even a single person, or a few kind words, can make your entire journey feel complete and deeply satisfying. I would like to give my special thanks to Tracey from the Club Lounge. My friend and I experienced something very upsetting on the first day of our trip. Everything changed the moment we checked in at Le Méridien Saigon and met Tracey. Her kindness went far beyond what is normally expected. She provided us with perfect travel guidance, clear check-in information, a detailed introduction to the hotel facilities and floors, and even recommended truly amazing local restaurants. It was an extremely busy Christmas period, yet she patiently explained everything, constantly checked on us, and genuinely cared. Her warmth truly touched us and made us fall in love with Vietnam — a country we had never visited before. More importantly, through her, we experienced what true Marriott-level service means. All of this came from Tracey. We will definitely return to Le Méridien Saigon, and this is all because of her. I sincerely and wholeheartedly recommend Tracey and wish her great success and continued growth in her career. She is truly rare, and we genuinely adore her. Tracey, we hope you can come visit us in Bangkok very soon. We are deeply grateful for all your help.

Le Méridien Saigon – A Truly Memorable Birthday Stay||It was my birthday treat, and my son brought me to Ho Chi Minh City. I didn’t expect the trip to turn out so wonderful. Besides the vibrant city itself, the people were incredibly friendly. A big part of this amazing experience was thanks to the management and staff at Le Méridien Saigon.|I received so much warmth and so many thoughtful surprises during my 5-day stay — including a room upgrade with a beautiful view of the Saigon River, birthday cakes, and lovely gifts from the hotel. It truly made my celebration unforgettable.|The hotel itself lives up to the prestige of the Marriott Bonvoy name.|I would like to extend my heartfelt thanks to the lounge manager, Ms. Tracey, for taking such good care of us, especially me. She also guided us on the best places to visit and must-see spots in the city. Every day, I looked forward to seeing her in the lounge — her hard work, sincerity, and excellent personality made us feel so welcomed.|I will definitely return again. Highly recommended!

What a great hotel!!! It's exactly what you expect from a Marriott family hotel. Staff was excellent and very helpful. Rooms were nice and quiet. Location is a mixed bag. The street gets very busy at peak hours so it's hard to get a taxi then. However, the metro is right there, so if you had to go to the opera house or Bến Thành, then it's right there. Also, get the breakfast buffet. I'm not usually a fan of hotel buffets, but this is worth it.

Wow, where do I even begin with this great place! It’s so wonderful to come back to this hotel a year after I last visited. The staff are all wonderful and still remember me by name. The service here at Le Meridian is truly unrivaled. From the bell boys who assist with luggage and always greet me at the door, to the receptionists who assists me with any needs, to the club lounge and pool attendants who make sure I have a relaxing experience, I’m truly grateful for your amazing service. I travel so much but no hotel even comes close to the level of attention and service that I receive each time I stay at Le Meridian in Saigon. I am particularly thankful to the house keeping staff, especially room attendants Viet, Ly Phuong, and Hong Hanh for making my room feel like home each day. They replaced my flowers daily, made sure I always had enough drinking water, and even charged my electric toothbrush when I would forget myself. Additionally, Hanh noticed I drink lots of ice, so she would put an ice bucket in the room for me without me having to ask. This type of attention and level of detail is truly exceptional and warrants recognition—thanks again Hanh! I am so grateful to everyone else that I may have forgotten. It takes many different teams to deliver such an exceptional experience and I’m truly grateful for each and every one of the Le Meridian staff members. I will always look forward to staying at this unrivaled hotel when I’m back in Saigon! Thank you!!

Overall, I had a great experience at Le Méridien, though there’s room for improvement. When I arrived around 4 PM—already past check-in time—I was told my requested room (same floor as my friend) wasn’t ready, despite emailing my arrival time and request in advance. Another room was available on a different floor, but I was a little disappointed. That said, Tina at the front desk did her best to accommodate me and offered alternatives, which I appreciated. Still, I expected smoother service from a 5-star Marriott property. The room and amenities were standard but comfortable. The breakfast buffet was excellent with a wide selection, and the service overall was top-notch. The location is ideal—close to Japan Town, central for Grab rides, and with a lovely river view. A special mention goes to Khang Lam from the concierge team, who went above and beyond with recommendations, luggage assistance, and support throughout my stay. His professionalism truly elevated the experience. In summary, while check-in could have been better, the excellent service, food, and location made this a memorable stay. Thanks to staff like Tina and Khang Lam, I would happily recommend this hotel and look forward to returning.

Le Méridien Saigon is truly a five-star hotel. I really enjoyed the facilities, especially the pool, the gym which feels like a real fitness center, and the relaxation area with the sauna and baths. The staff was always attentive and spoke excellent English, which made the stay very easy and pleasant. The rooms are spacious, comfortable, and perfectly equipped. At first, I was given a room at the end of the hallway next to the staff area, and there was a bit of noise from doors closing. I mentioned it to the reception and they immediately upgraded me to a quieter room. That kind of service really makes a difference, so thank you to the Le Méridien team for handling it so professionally. I also tried the Sunday brunch, which was good, not mind-blowing but tasty and convenient if you don’t feel like leaving the hotel. The breakfast and room service were both high quality, and the lobby team was quick and helpful every time. If there’s one thing to note, it’s the price. At around 150 to 300 USD per night, it’s slightly above some of the competition. For the same price, you can find similar five-star options like Sofitel or MGallery, and with the Mandarin Oriental opening soon, the market is getting even more competitive. Overall, I had a really pleasant stay. The service, comfort, and facilities make it an excellent choice for anyone looking for a high-end experience in Ho Chi Minh City.

We stayed at Le Méridien Saigon as a family with elders and young children. The hotel is modern, well located, and the rooms are comfortable. The staff were polite and professional overall.||I am writing this review mainly to help Indian vegetarian families plan better.||Before our arrival, we had clearly communicated our Indian vegetarian food requirements by email during the reservation process. Unfortunately, it seems this information was not properly passed on internally, particularly to the kitchen and the Indian chef.||As a result, during most of our stay, the breakfast buffet had very limited vegetarian options, and almost no clearly marked Indian vegetarian dishes. Most items contained egg, meat, or fish-based ingredients, which made breakfast challenging for pure vegetarians, especially children and elderly family members.||What was disappointing is that we came to know only on the last day that the hotel had access to an Indian chef. Once we met the chef, it was evident that suitable Indian vegetarian food could have been arranged earlier if the prior communication had reached the right team. This felt like a missed opportunity due to an internal coordination gap rather than lack of capability.||We also faced some inconvenience at the executive lounge, particularly related to food availability and timing, which was not very accommodating for families with children.||On a positive note, the hotel management acknowledged our concerns and extended 10,000 Marriott Bonvoy points as a goodwill gesture, which we appreciate. This shows that the hotel does value guest feedback and makes efforts to address issues.

We had a really lovely stay at Le Méridien. The whole team was warm and welcoming from the moment we arrived, and the room was comfortable with an exceptionally cozy bed. A special mention goes to Ms. Hà (Hanna) at the Executive Club Lounge. She was incredibly helpful and attentive, and truly made us feel at home. Her hospitality added so much to our experience. Overall, a wonderful stay and highly recommended.
