Le Merigot Hotel

This hotel is nothing short of amazing! It has such a modernized/ contemporary design, while also maintaining a rather beautiful and romantic allure as well. The amenities it has to offer are just as extravagant! The overall vibe here is most definitely that of a luxury hotel, not to mention it sits nestled mere feet from the casino and Ohio River. Ever since I checked out from my stay here, I've been dying to go back! Perfect place for a romantic weekend getaway. 💗💜🩷

The bed was very comfortable with down pillows and comforter and the mattress was not rock hard. The shower was fantastic (car wash type feel). The rooms are very modern and updated. The hotel is trendy. Short indoor walk to the casino which is connected. River views. I had an excellent stay and definitely would stay here again.

The room we started in was a corner room. It was amazing and had awesome views of the river. The bathroom was large and upscale with a nice shower. The shower did leak water profusely, however, but a towel fixed that issue. The lobby smells of ... Something.. not quite cigarette smoke, but maybe the ozone stuff they use to cover it up? It wasn't distracting, like smoke is, but it was different enough for a mention. Direct access to the (now moved onshore) casino. The restaurant is in the casino, so nonsmokers beware. A solid place to stay for a getaway evening or weekend. We'll be back.

Stayed here due to disability. Ease of parking and walking distance to casino games, no long hall, stairs or escalators. Problem was checking out. Needed a luggage rack to bring oxygen concentrator , portable oxygen and luggage down. None to be found. I called service desk she advised me to go from floor to floor look down halls for one. Still none to be found. It took me six trips up and down elevator while disabled husband waited in lobby. Then I got the car and make 6 trips from Lobby to car out front. I was exhausted and my husband was upset that he couldn’t help and it turned a great trip to disappointing one.

The rooms are beautiful, very nice and elegant. Attached to the casino, if you like casinos that's a good thing. within walking distance of a couple restaurant but I stayed on a Monday night and they were all closed. The continental breakfast is pretty good but you have to eat in lounge chairs using coffee tables. Very uncomfortable.

Hotels manager was very rude they were supposed to have me in for two days and came knocking saying that they had only put me in for 1 I talked to my host and he said it was supposed to be two days some one messed it up .manager would not even let me talk just told me I had to get out not the first time he's been rude they need new management

Comfortable room, professional staff, chic interior. Breakfast could be better, but the coffee was fine. I'd gladly stay here again and recommend the hotel. Blush bar is really cool, and within walking distance of an Irish and Mexican restaurant. The bed and pillows are super soft. I slept well.

Not sure if all the rooms have a shower with four heads (rainfall, normal mount, and two body jets) but it does make for a great experience after a long day, the shower is big enough to fit four people if needed. The continental breakfast is ok, nothing special but they do give free vouchers for it upon check in. Friendly staff made this a great stay.

I was in Evansville on business and stayed at this property for the first time. Overall, it was very good. Staff members were very nice and helpful. The room was comfortable, clean and had everything I needed for a comfortable stay and to do some work in my room. The view is nice if you have the river view. There are robes and slippers, which was nice since it was really cold. The shower was huge and I wish I'd explored the setting better. It would be a little loud at night with people talking and slamming doors, but that's probably everywhere to an extent. The things that could have been better were room service. I don't think they have it. In which case, you eat out or go down to the casino for a super smoky experience. I thought the casino would be fun and it was ok, but it wasn't Vegas - LOL. Also, my room came with breakfast, which was a small honor system buffet. It was nice to grab some coffee and a bagel before heading to my meetings. Though the Doubletree is my favorite hotel in the area, it was fun to try something different and I'd be open to staying at this property again.

Nice modern hotel .Was not expecting anything fancy but I was wrong ! Beautiful bathroom with huge showers. Designed to look really posh . Lobby smelled like vanilla/coconut mix all the time.complimentary trolly to downtown and back . It is attached to Tropicana casino .but the crowd from casino do not have direct access to he hotel . Will recommend staying here !

The hotel staff was super nice! The girls at the desk were very friendly, very helpful. The room was spacious... The bathroom looked nice. I was a bit disappointed there was no bathtub. Now.. The shower, it looked amazing, however it was difficult to operate and adjust.. Water would get all over the floor.. Then it was real difficult to shut it off completely. The water would leak by the toilet also. The breakfast girl, I believe her name was Amy, she was very nice also. Sadly, there wasn't much I could eat as I am on a low carb diet. There were no eggs and sausage or bacon... Only cereals, waffles etc. The staff made the stay very enjoyable for sure. My husband enjoyed the casino.

This hotel is right next to the casinos down the way. There is also 2 restaurants and what looks like a dance club across the street. It was indeed a gorgeous place and more on the modern site. Service was decent at the front desk but it is really the service at the morning breakfast that is great. She's always friendly and cheerful -- something we all need a dose of in the mornings. There isn't a business center but you can print to the front desk which is right next to you. Breakfast is available downstairs where the bar would be (at night) with some decent choices but mainly what you would find at a continental breakfast. The rooms are nice the modern as well with a large bed and a desk and great TV. The bathrooms are over the top but I love them especially the 4 shower heads coming in all different directions. There is also a TV in there. In all honesty, unless you are at the sink, it is a bit hard to watch/hear. Otherwise, the room is great overall.

Le Merigot is one of two hotels connected to the Tropicana Casino in Downtown Evansville. Like many casino hotels, Le Merigot focuses on luxury at a reasonable price... hence, it's a go-to option for me when I am in the area on business. WHAT I LIKE: - Huge rooms. - Car wash-esque shower (really fantastic) - TV in bathroom. - Free continental breakfast. - Coffee and real creamer available in the room. - Descent internet and WiFi speeds. - Beautiful riverfront and downtown area for joggers. - Great restaurants in easy walking distance. WHAT I DON'T LIKE: - The hotel lobby has a beautiful bar, but there is never anyone there... patron or bartender. - No pool. - No valet option. - No room service. BOTTOM LINE: A solid option in the downtown Evansville area with some GREAT feature, but also lacking on a few staples that every nice hotel should have.

Let me first say that if you are going to stay in Evansville, Indiana, this is probably the place you want to do it. We stayed in a corner room with a lovely river view. Here's a rundown of my thoughts- Pros 1. Large room 2. Very reasonable rate 3. Friendly staff 4. Convenient and free parking 5. Great shower in the room Cons 1. No room service 2. Poor daily housekeeping 3. Malfunctioning key cards-had to replace it three times during my five-night stay 4. No bath tub Again, I would recommend staying here-I'm pretty confident Le Merigot is the best hotel in Evansville.

I came here on business, with a couple of coworkers. Luckily, I got a room with a gorgeous view of the river. The hotel is nice, the bed is comfy, and there is an incredible 3-head shower! We were here for 4 days, and I had everything I needed: bathrobe, ironing board and iron, food downstairs, and ample room to spread out. They gave us breakfast vouchers for the morning and had a lovely spread with a plethora of teas and coffees, plus pastries, cereal, yogurt with toppings, and all the standards (eggs, bacon, bagels, etc.) - very impressive. In the evenings, we were able to head downstairs and order food from the tavern and have it conveniently billed to our room. Good place for a beer or a drink and a burger or salmon. There is an entire casino attached, with a coffee shop and lounge at the very back. We headed there one night for some live music. Definitely a nice way to kill some time in the evenings on what could have otherwise been a very boring business trip.

So this is my second stay at the oddly out of place Le Merigot hotel, and I gotta say I'm a fan. The first time I came here I was booked next door at the Aztar, but after having caught a whiff of the delightfully acrid hotel air, I rebooked my hotel for Le Merigot right down the street . The rooms have a nice W type feel to em, and the hotel bar tries to be a hip lounge, but the big win is the showers. In addition to the regular showerhead, they have the huge rainshower above you, and a couple gratuitous showerheads on the wall. So after a long day of work or a hard workout at the hotel gym (which has top of the line equipment), it's like getting a serious massage. The roomservice wasn't bad but it was nothing to write home about.

Staying here for work. I agree with Harsh K's review and would expand 'showers' to the entire bathroom. It's just a pleasant experience to have such a wonderful shower, then all this space to get ready in, and on top of it all a small flat screen TV in there that you can watch while you get ready! The breakfast is good too particularly the freshly made granola. Starbucks Coffee always cheers me up too, and they rooms have creamer not that crappy dry creamer stuff. The room service food blows (the stuff from the attached restaurant) but what do you really expect 1) in a hotel and 2) in Southern Indiana. Especially for veggie-sauruses.

Nice hotel. It was clean and the bedding was really comfortable. The shower was nice, the overhead rain head and the extra jets, but the shower kind of leaked into the bathroom... might have just been a problem with our specific room but seemed like a flawed design. What turned out to be the biggest flaw in the design was the glass walls of the bathroom between the bathroom sink and the main bedroom area- it lets light through! Hence when someone got up in the middle of the night to use the bathroom, it light up the room like the 4th of July. Don't fall for the Happy Hour at the bar downstairs- only specific beers are on the special and the food is 1-2 greasy apps. The breakfast is AMAZING! Freshest fruit I have ever had in the winter, great variety of oatmeal, yogurt, etc. I hear it is definitely the nicer of the two casino hotels, I had a pleasant stay and would recommend if someone was in the area.

The hotel is really nice, staff was pleasnt and helpful but I had a problem with the shower not turning off and leaking all night. Guys came up to look at it and got it to stop but it quickly came back. Looking at the floor I could tell it has been leaking awhile from the mold. For the price I paid for the hotel this was completely unacceptable and when I said something at the front desk at check out I noticed a big change in attitude.

Its a good hotel to stay in if your on business. its right down town and easy to get in and out of. I like it because its close to the casino. just walk across the street. Stayed December 2011, traveled on business

Rooms are clean. The shower has four shower heads which is awesome. Hallways smell like cigarettes. Hotel staff is rude. The first day was alright. When asking about the continental breakfast they pointed me to the direction of it and I helped myself. The second day when trying to hurry and eat the continental breakfast and nearly halfway finished with my plate and having to leave for work, hotel staff behind the breakfast counter demanded a meal ticket because I came up to the counter to grab a napkin. When I went to the front desk to ask Sarah for a meal ticket off to the side so we could both continue doing what is needed, her do her work and me to hurry up and finish my breakfast before my Uber arrived, she scoffed and was incredibly rude to me for even asking for the meal ticket. Again, I was demanded to provide a ticket after already being halfway through my meal and the other guests not having provided tickets either. The only difference was the fact I wasn't dressed in a suit. I merely just needed to complete the request so I could finish my meal and my Uber was to arrive in three minutes. Get your staff coordinated and make it clear you need meal tickets so working professionals can provide what is needed when obtaining your breakfast and not be late for work.

This is one of the strangest hotels I've stayed in. It's certainly nice, but it's like someone took a list of attributes that swanky Vegas casino hotels should have (giant bathroom, TV in bathroom, lots of outlets, fancy coffeemaker and good coffee in the room, telephone next to the toilet, swanky decor, giant walk-in shower with a million showerheads) and included them all in the room... but in absolutely no logical way. Here's the play by play: [1] The stand-up shower is huge. It has a zillion showerheads like fancy Vegas hotels. One is a directly-overhead-aiming-straight-down-at-your head "rainfall" showerhead. But then it also has a regular hanging-from-the-wall showerhead... buuuut... you can't have only one of them on; it's either both or nothing. So if you prefer the wall-showerhead, too bad, you're getting water from above. OK, no big deal. But, as my fellow Yelpers have already mentioned, it also has these two turbo-powered water jets that aim DIRECTLY at your smushy-bits / dangly bits, and the water pressure will take off a layer of skin. Like seriously, forgive the TMI, but right now, my bunghole skin is sore from the pressurewashing. There is no way to reduce the pressure of these jets. And you can try to aim the waterjets elsewhere, but you really can't avoid them. So, prepare for the bunghole-blasting of the unpleasant variety. [2] The bathroom looks stunningly gorgeous when you walk in... and it has a zillion lights in it... buuuuut... the way they are aimed you still can't put your makeup on because the lights are shining directly down from the ceiling, so all you get are shadows. You can try to lean and contort, but it's no use. [3] The room has a cute little coffee station with a nice coffeepot and decent coffee pods and real half-and-half... buuuut... it's in the bathroom. There's plenty of room on the dresser in the main part of the room, yet they put it the bathroom. Puzzling. [4] The beds are comfortable with super-soft fancy linens, and cozy down-stuffed covers... again, super-luxurious... buuuut... there are so many blankets that you get totally tangled up and you keep waking up. [5] There are a zillion outlets by the little round table in the room... buuuuut none by the beds. Hope you didn't wanna charge your phone. (Though here's a road-warrior pro-tip from your travelin' pal Jill: Always pack a power strip. You'll never get stuck choosing between plugging in the lamp or plugging in your phone again.) I know this review makes me sound like a total over-privileged "First World Problems" weenie. I feel like a tool writing it, honestly. But I'm just so amused by this whole thing that I had to share. Besides, my butt hurts.

My boyfriend and I stayed for the weekend, the hotel itself is fabulous! Attached is a casino and multiple restaurants (may I suggest Cavanagh's) and a lovely bar called Blush. The breakfast served in Blush and it's fabulous! They make their own granola, muffins, and have wonderful fresh fruit. The only downfall was the front desk staff clearly would have rather been anywhere but there. All three shifts seemed to have the same "I hate everything" expression on their faces. The staff running the breakfast, however, were very vey sweet.

The hotel is definitely one of the nicer hotels in Evansville. The beds are comfortable, and the decor is modern. I'll second what most other people say about the nice showers. The breakfast is decent but majorly lacking any protein options. The food that was present was good though. It has a convenient location. There was no refrigerator or bathtub. Housekeeping was the biggest downfall. We tipped well and the shower wasn't cleaned once in a 5 night stay. One day they only emptied the trash and didn't replace the one toiletry item we used and didn't notice the lack of toilet paper. We had to call and get that refilled. Overall, I'd stay there again, but I'd be open to other options in the future.

This is my first stay at the Le Merigot for business. The room was clean and very very nice. It did take me until the third day to figure out the shower :) but I'm in love with the water pressure! The fitness facility is bigger than most hotels and had a nice variety of cardio and weights. The breakfast is decent (not enough protein selections for me) and I was told they are slowly expanding on it but it wasn't a deal breaker for me. It's within walking distance to casino, restaurants and work so this hotel was an overall win win. Last and certainly not least, the hotel staff (front desk, chambermaids and shuttle drivers) are friendly and fantastic! Always ready to answer questions and help in any way. I will be staying there again next week and anytime I need to travel to Evansville, IN! A++++++++

Not recommended. Only had smoking room, when I requested non smoking. Restaurant closed, but not disclosed on the web site. Poor front desk and restaurant staff. Not much to recommend at all. Skip this one.

Reservations were not accurate, rooms worn with bent lampshade, gouged furniture, stained carpet, dirty floors, and the tiles on the floor of their shower stained. Curtains difficult to operate, and continental breakfast marginal. Le Merigot claims boutique hotel status. Boutique must be French for 'overpriced.'

Great rooms. Terrible staff and management. Showed up at 4pm and doors were locked. Had to enter the bar, that isn't open during the week, and find someone to let them know. It literally took the girl 17 minutes to check me in. Absolutely no parking remotely close to the building.

As good as it gets for Evansville. Stayed here twice. Once on my honeymoon and the other just to crash out after getting drunk on the boat. Nice clean rooms. COMFY BEDS! COOL SHOWER!
