Le Millénaire

"Near Place Royale and the cathedral, this local culinary landmark opens a new chapter with the arrival of chef Benjamin Andreux. In the form of “carte blanche” menus, he unveils his vision of fine dining with a certain ambition – green asparagus, wild garlic and pistachio sabayon, or John Dory, granny smith apple, cucumber and brown butter. Pleasing modern interior." - Michelin Inspector

Every city I go I always try 1 to 2 Michelin starred restaurant. Le Millénaire has good ambience, attentive service, above average food that worth a 1 star. Cons for me: the fish course and the juz for the beef course were quite salty. And the lady serving me was coughing all night so it was kind of unpleasant.

✨ Our minds were blown at Le Millénaire in Reims! From the surprise 9‑course blind tasting to each edible masterpiece, Chef you’ve truly earned that Michelin star ⭐️ Congratulations! #LeMillénaire #FrenchFineDining

This was the best meal of my life, no exaggeration. So glad I went to this place before its inevitable Michelin fame, it’s undiscovered. Would love to come back. Highlights: the service was ASTOUNDING!!! They were so coordinated. It felt like I was in a ballet. Additionally the food was so creative but bursting with flavour. I especially loved the mushroom puree, the little tarts, the steak course, the beet course and the chocolate dessert. They did an exceptional job with the wine pairing as well. The white wine matched the curry sauce in the fish SO well. The dining area is modern and minimalistic. I love that the menu is set and secretive. They do not work with pork at this restaurant if that is a dietary concern.

Exceptional experience from beginning to end. Don't miss the Langoustine and the Beef Caviar. Vegetarian menu available.

They are well on their way to a Michelin star!! The food was clean and flavorful, inventive and beautiful. We had fantastic service as well, and an overall very lovely time!

Everything was what one would expect at a Michelin-starred restaurant. Enjoyed the contemporary take on French cuisine, excellent wine list, and the restaurant offers seasonal menus featuring locally sourced ingredients. Its acclaim for an elegant atmosphere and innovative dishes is well earned; a notable culinary destination in Reims. We were celebrating our anniversary and a birthday; they took note of that and added a nice subtle touch to the dessert course 😀

If we only had one word to say, it would be ‘wow’. The experience during our evening here surpassed everything we expected. The welcome was very open and friendly, the atmosphere was romantic, and the food … every dish was a surprise, and not once did it disappoint. Every course was a celebration of taste and a new experience for all other senses as well. It was such a marvel to find this gem during our vacation. The price is of course on the more expensive side, but very very worth it. Do not hesitate to book here for a dinner experience you won’t forget easily.

Google
The restaurant put so much effort on the food appearance. The presentation outweighed its tastes and flavors. Compare to other Michelin guide restaurant , we expected more depth of taste and texture profile. The lighting was too bright with no focusing & contrasting at all. The playlist of the music was the same as your listening in the radio. Thus , the overall mood & ambient of dinning space intensified the overall experiences.

Yelp
There were some things which could be improved but altogether a wonderful experience and quality food. The 4 course was almost too much goodness! The wine sommelier was great as well.

Yelp
While I did enjoy many aspects of this restaurant, I found it to be not quite up to par. The service here is the epitome of "white glove". I really appreciated how proactive and thoughtful their waitstaff was. They easily outperform other restaurants of a similar price point in this regard. I cannot say the same for the food, however. They had an admittedly poor start, with slightly gummy bread (pictured) and bland amuse-bouches and appetizers. The vegetable appetizer was particularly disappointing, as it had this bitter vegetal foam reminiscent of fibers leftover from pressing a green juice. These missteps surprised me, as bread and hors-d'œuvres seem like relatively easy points for such a high-caliber restaurant to master. Luckily, the two mains (pigeon and pollock) were exquisite. The sauces that accompanied both dishes were standouts. Granted, I did have a few critiques for the pigeon which was just slightly lacking in salt. In comparison to the first half of the meal, however, this was a vast improvement. I also thoroughly enjoyed the dessert course, though I have a major sweet tooth so I'm relatively easy to impress on that front. The ambiance was slightly underwhelming, with the interior being evocative of a hotel wedding venue: thick polyester curtains and food photography lining the walls, tangerine carpeting, and dried flowers decorating each table. Overall, I would only recommend this restaurant to someone who really wants a traditional fine dining experience with a great deal of courses. This is one of the few restaurants in Reims who can provide that. I would also suggest coming here with company, as the food quality is not strong enough to justify dining alone. Take someone who isn't very into food that you're trying to impress here.

Yelp
This was probably our least favorite meal in France. First of all, the restaurant was extremely white. The walls were white, the table linens were white, the napkins were white, the plates were white...even the people were all white. It was like dining in a sterile hospital (1 star off). The white napkins were also the largest I have ever seen; they draped over my lap like a baby blanket. The ambiance was extremely quiet -- it was like everyone was afraid to talk (1 star off). The table next to us had about seven or eight people, and you would think a large group like that would make *some* noise during a meal together, but nope. The food was palatable, but very disappointing for a Michelin rated restaurant (1 star off). We got the prix-fixe menu, and all the items were less than mediocre. There was an eggroll-like thing, a basic fish, a messy soup, a pigeon stuffed with innards, and a boring clafoutis that I could have made at home. Even the ice cream was already half melted when it was served...at least it was served on a non-white plate?

Yelp
"I haven't had a formal cheese course since 1992" -- said one of my colleagues. Best place in Reims. Give it a gander.

Yelp
We had dinner here just a few days ago. We ordered several dishes and they were all pretty good for a former one star Michelin. However, I was disappointed with my entree - roasted monkfish with salted butter, lobster juice and tarragon. It didn't taste right - somehow a bit musty? I asked our waiter about replacing it. She advised that I could order another dish, but would still have to pay for the monkfish. This was surprising, but not wanting to argue and spoil our evening, I went ahead and paid for two entrees.

Yelp
I love checking out Michelin rated or Michelin mention restaurants, as I want to confirm if they are really all that special and worth the money. This was the only Michelin starred restaurant I visited during this trip to the Champagne region, and it was hands down the best restaurant I ate at during the trip. The food was impeccably prepared, the champagne recommendation a perfect compliment to our meal and the service outstanding. I had a 5 course tasting, and my husband had the chefs tasting. And even though we had a different number of courses, the delivery of the food was never awkward. Also, the menu is only in French, so I started using Google Translate, but it was much more efficient having the waiter translate. He actually said to us that he was a very good application. Haha! The prices for the food are really reasonable for what you get. Great choice for our last meal of the trip!

Yelp
Well...I "treated" myself to this meal as an early birthday gift while in Reims. Unfortunately, I was somewhat disappointed in this Michelin rated restaurant. The space is austere and has an elegant yet sterile decor. It is exceptionally quite dining room. The service is Friend and attentive but does border on intrusive at times. I don't like people watching me eat so directly or hovering over my dinner while I'm eating. The menu we had was 55.00 (beware that the 37.00 menu was only for lunch although it lists this as a weekday dinner option online). Wine list is good. The "Bon aperitif" starter was a tomato cream pastry and an avocado purée with cream on top. Both were fine and seemed very traditional. The Lobster Soup dish was flavorful but the texture of the jelly at the bottom was hard to forgive. The third item was the "Perfect Egg at 63 Degrees" which I found to be flavorless and unremarkable - it tasted like a poached egg and nothing more and is a simple dish of poached egg in a cauliflower white sauce. The fish entree was cooked perfectly and this dish was lovely - flavored with olive and tomatoes. The main course was the duck. Duck was tender and somewhat flavorful but the dish lacked the inventiveness expected for a Michelin stared restaurant. Finally, the peach dessert was excellent. And, to top it all off, the sommelier forgot to bring the wine I had ordered yet charged it on my bill at the close of dinner. Also, when asked at the start of dinner, he would not offer a recommendation for a proper pairing. I would not return to this restaurant as there is little excitement in the offerings and is only adequate Michelin rated restaurant.

Yelp
1 Michelin star for you and 3 yelp stars from Lynda :) A: Foie - I'm foied out, maybe it's in my head but I really feel my chest tightening up, I only ate half of what was already a tiny portion B: Scallops - plumped and juicy, I think my expectation was high so I was hoping this dish would have a lasting impression on me...but it didn't. I did enjoy half of my steam cooked and pan fried Brussel sprouts B: Pork - tender which a strip of underlining fat. the veal stuff pasta was interesting A-: Sea bass - probably the most highlighted dish of the night. I love sea bass so when the dish came out, I was quite excited. I wish there were veggies that would compliment this A+: Chocolate sorbet - my favorite dish of the night :D the crunch, the sorbet That was a fun experience, usually I dwell at 3+ hr dinners but it was quite pleasant. Chef came out to greet us and the staff was on point with their service. When we first got there, it was so quiet, almost dead, you can hear yourself speaking and everyone can hear your conversation but I guess the French eat late so the place started filling up.

Yelp
It's a bout the food. This place is a wonderful hidden gem because the showcase is not the pomp, circumstance or decor - it's all about the food. We'd come to Reims to tour one of the Champagne houses and decided to do lunch in town. They had a €38 lunch tasting menu here that looked quite good. It turns out that this place was a steal! The restaurant is simple, modern, and open with high ceilings and just enough luxury to feel like a nice restaurant but not so much that you don't want to walk in the door. The meal was really great - especially when you consider the price. Amazing local produce and a well-traveled chef with very good skills make for a great combination. Lunch started with three amuse bouches followed by a four course tasting and a wonderful, seasonal dessert. The service was very good and completed the experience. Considering the quality of the food (if I can add to my review I'll upload some food pics from my camera) and the fact that this place has a Michelin Star, the €39 price range makes this place a steal. I'd come back again in a heartbeat.

Yelp
Great food, super delicious! Impeccable service. Bien ambience. Chef greets with us. An unforgettable experience for Xmas!

Yelp
Their degustation menus make this a good option for a nice meal in the enter of Reims while keeping costs reasonable. On the weekends, they offer a €35, 3-course menu, or €54, 5-course menu (plus an amuse and some small sweets at the very end). Its a modern interior, and all the dishes present well. Not everyone speaks English, but enough people do that I didn't have to rely solely on my terrible French. We did the 5 course menu, and my boyfriend absolutely loved his food - more than Les Crayeres! As a vegetarian, I was not overly impressed with the food, but the presentation was lovely and service was good. And the waiters all acknowledged that I was vegetarian from the moment we sat down, so I really appreciated that. And it wasn't like my food was bad, it just wasn't great. Their bread and salted local butter was incredible, and we each loved the soup that started the meal. (His was a cream soup with some kind of fish, mine was asparagus cream). He loved the black angus, and he also had a seared tuna dish that was perfectly prepared. Dessert was excellent, of course. They don't do wine pairings but have a number of wines available by the glass and made some nice recommendations for us. The wine list for bottles was extensive, and of course there's plenty of lovely champagne.

Yelp
We ended up here after looking for a nice restaurant for lunch in the Michelin guide. This place doesn't have any Michelin stars but it's worth one in my book. The decor, service, silverware (really beautiful, from Bernardaud) and the food are all worthy of the one michelin star restaurants I was lucky to try in the past (in Paris and San Francisco). I would strongly recommend going with one of the prix fixes (I myself ordered a la carte but ended up regretting it). The prix fixe that my girlfriend ordered consisted of 4 fixed dishes: you can't choose from a list (the reason why I ordered a la carte) but everything that I tasted from it was awesome. From a la carte, I ordered the filet de chevreuil (venison) roti with petit gateau d'endives: this was good but not worth the price (39 euros). They actually start you up with some amuse bouches, then a small appetizer (all complimentary). Then the prix fixe starts with a foie gras de canard poilé in a bouillon facon pot au feu. I had never seen seared foie gras served in a broth before but this was actually delicious. Then noix de saint jacques roties on a risotto parmersan sauce vert pre. Best scallops I have ever had and the combination with the risotto was terrific. Then a meat course: a filet de boeuf in a red wine reduction, was delicious. Then dessert. Then sweets. The prix fixe is 47 euros, it's on the expensive side and this is definitely a restaurant for a special occasion but you pretty much get 7 courses for that !

Yelp
Really quiet, contemporary and delicious menu and hidden gem in Reims. Waiters have great attention to detail, they regularly check on you and are super helpful with those that don't speak French. The good was incredible. I had the sea bass with roasted potatoes and mushrooms. My partner had the sweetbread, which he said was delicious going down. We didn't really know what it was until the morning, but he was glad he tried it. We were given small tasties, bread, and to start we had smoked salmon with panna cotta as well as creme brûlée to finish. We shared both the starter and dessert which the restaurant was fine with. Great service, amazing food, great for a family dinner, business dinner for a small group.

Yelp
Had one amazing dinner there, atmosphere superb loved the silence and good talk with your company. Wine list very good, especially I like that they have outstanding selection of half bottles so that you can try many during one dinner. And the food is to die for - the best steak with mushrooms I've ever had.

Yelp
It surely could not be possible to have an experience that is less than 5 Yelp stars at this restaurant! On a Tuesday evening in the "off season" of October we partook of the 5 course tasting menu "Avec fromage". The restaurant was packed and busy but the atmosphere was quiet and elegant. Personal touches by the staff were evident everywhere. And they were extraordinarily gracious and encouraging with those like myself struggling to speak French. Fortunately there English was very very good. The dinner itself was preceded by not one amuse bouche, but two! The second amuse bouche was a lovely velvety corn soup with small nuggets of ham adding a bit of contrast. AND THAT WAS BEFORE THE MEAL STARTED! Oh la la! The wait staff were so attentive and helpful it was hard to tell who was 'supposed ' to do what, but one of the staff, a very kind gentleman, recommended the ( very reasonably priced) Paul Berthelot champagne Cuvée Libertine that was 100% Pinot meunier and stood with most of the dishes in the tasting very well. Each dish was perfectly prepared with fresh ingredients that complemented each other for a well composed and beautifully presented dish. The foie gras panfried was heaven in the mouth that was luxurious and comfort at the same time. Do NOT miss the work of edible art that was the chocolate pistachio choice. It was delectable. BUT WAIT! There's more! The cheese 'tray' was a groaning grand selection that was wheeled over to the table for individual selection. I chose several morsels of lovely and diverse cheeses including a very different, local specialty, cheese called Langres that is reminiscent of the lovely Welsh Caerphilly cheese. The chef came around to individual tables and answered questions about preparations and thanked us for coming. It was really a magnificent meal with food, wines and service at an exceptional level.

Yelp
Wow, this restaurant is easily one of the top restaurants in the world according to a Scandinavian wine- and food-junkie. Excellent service, a nice setting in the heart of Reims. We had a four course menu that was a mix of classic French and modern style . Everything was superb. SUPERB! Combined with and knowledgeable sommelier the dinner was to die for. Well worth the star!

Yelp
Best meal we had in France. And its all based on the price! 30 euros for 3 courses in a Michelin star! Absolute bargain. The restaurant is pure white and very classy. We were greeted very nicely and given lots of attention. The tables are immaculate and very fancy. We were given an amouse bouche which was nice then lovely fresh bread, which was topped up when id finished the last piece. I ordered the seabass tartare, curried steak and chocolate biscoff cookie dessert. All were very tasty. My boyfriend ordered the veggie starter (cant remember what), the fish and then the fruit and ice cream/sorbet. It was the nicest sorbet ive ever tried. We were then given amouse bouche desserts. All courses were a perfect size and we left stuffed! The champagne was reasonably priced and they have a huge selection which the waiter went through and recommended some. As the menu was in French a waiter happily explained everything on the menu in English. I had a look at the a la carte menu which was slightly more expensive, I was tempted to order from that however I could not back the deal of 30 euro for 3 courses ( which is only available on Friday and Saturday nights btw)

Yelp
We had a fantastic meal here two days ago, and were overjoyed to find out they were open Christmas Day for lunch and returned. Both meals were magnificent. We ordered the truffle menu, the price fix menu and off the menu during out two visits, and all pleased us. The staff was welcoming and gracious, and the wines suggested delicious and perfect for the food. Bravo!

Yelp
Just returned from what was my worst meal in France over the last three weeks. I'm shocked at the 40 euros I paid EACH for my entree and my main course considering both weren't even cooked properly. The entree was frog legs - the meat was chewy and under-seasoned and I had to pick shards of bones out of my mouth multiple times. The main was even more disappointing. The John Dory fillets were woefully over cooked - completely dry with tough, rubbery skin. They were accompanied by a rectangular piece of almost-raw sweet potato that contained sometimes-sandy escargot. I didn't even get dessert and my portion of the bill was 102 euros for these two abysmal dishes and some okay white wine. Shockingly disappointing and not at all worth the exorbitant price.

Yelp
Amazing dinner tonight. Service is fast and reliable. The food got better with each course. The Angus beef was cooked to perfection and dessert was magnificent! Thank you!!

Amjad S.

Yelp
Soup was super subtle but tasty and fresh like grass and dew. Yummy. Peas and crab was super good. Creamy. Light. Peas were a nice and smooth balance to the sweet crab. Fish was amazing. Super buttery. Eggplant was great and I hate eggplant. Steak and potatoes play was amazing. Great sous vide beef. Outstanding potato custard thing. Great wine pairing. Strawberry rhubarb dessert was amazing. Great pistachio cream. Great sorbet. Cake (ginger?) was a bit dry but overall the dish was great. This place has amazing food. Ok wine pairings but not great. Reasonable service despite a miscommunication on wine pairing. Was probably better than any of our meals in Paris, with by far the best food. Only downsides were slightly too bright office-like atmosphere and slightly inattentive service at times.

Yelp
Having reviewed all the restaurants in Reims this was the best with availability at short notice. A Michelin star and a good menu selection, we thought we couldn't go wrong. The meal began well, I ordered the €53 fixed menu and my wife ordered a la carte. I thought we had matched up pretty well as far as number of courses... HOWEVER when they completely forget about my wife's cheese plate she ends up sitting there for 15 minutes while I eat my lamb course that's not good! So as I swallow down my last bite of lamb Only to realise that I'm chewing on something that ISN'T LAMB! I was chewing a piece of plastic wrap which the lamb had been wrapped in after it was seared!!! So when I brought it up with the waiter I expected to see a good response. I believe that it's not that an issue that determines the quality of resto but the response to issues! On this basis le millenaire failed miserably! We were offered a "very sorry about that" from our waiter, NOT the chef or maitre d' just our waiter. AND after that we were totally ignored and avoided for the rest of the night. Upon leaving the chef was waiting by the door and I was expecting something but all we got was "good night!". I won't be back, the food was ok, nothing remarkable and certainly sub par service. NOT the starred resto to pick in Reims! There are too many other good Restos for half the price!

Yelp
actually this restaurant has 1 michelin star, it s one of thebest value for money in reims.i often have professional diners and lunch there.
