"With a façade lettered in gold paint, vintage mirrors paneling the walls, and an original hand-painted frescoe on the ceiling, Le Moulin de la Vierge is the French bakery dreams are made of. Owner Basile Kamir found the space in the 1970s (he was a music journalist at the time), and was using it to house his record collection when he found out the building was slated for demolition. In an unlikely career change, he started the bakery to restore the space’s original purpose and save it from being destroyed. After 40 years, he’s still churning out French bread worthy of the stunning space he’s housed in."

What a lovely place to enjoy an afternoon! The hot chocolate was just perfect—not overly sweet, with a warmth that felt comforting. It truly made the experience special.

Really good brownies although a bit weird that when you’re in the coffee/ bar uit must go next door to order your cakes. Bit expensive for drinks but really cosy. Potted a few famous french actors.

I have fond memories of this place from prior trips to Paris. I made a special trip from the 8th arrondissement and was greeted a quite rude employee. There were no other customers in the bakery. I looked at a couple of items and opted instead for the small shop two doors down.

AVOID unless your happy to be charged double...or more Visited 23/06/18 Visited this cafe for breakfast during my trip. Food was average and so was the service. All products were clearly priced on the counter and our order was taken by a pleasant lady. However, when we went to pay the bill we were informed that all our prices were doubled or in some cases even more than double because we were seated in the cafe rather than having the items as a take away! Not once during our visit were we informed that the prices differ based on this. Also it is the responsibility of a business to label the prices to reflect this (like they do in businesses such as Costa Coffee). The owner appeared somewhat sympathetic by claiming other cafes may do the same...which I fail to believe as my week-long trip was coming to an end and this was my first encounter. Please avoid unless you're happy to pay extortionate price for an average (or less than average) cafe with an average atmosphere which may be targeting unexpecting tourists. If only I knew a 1 croissant, 1 pain au choclat and cappuccino would cost me more than €10 I would have not visited.

One of the favorite bakeries in Paris. Bakery is door to door to the cafe so you can have your coffee with freshly baked croissants.

Slow service, terrible coffee. Pastries were good. It took the overwhelmed waiter 15 min to take our order. Exasperated, I went to counter to order food. The lady gave me a speech that eat in customers must order food from the waiter. I explained to her that I don't like waiting and insisted on ordering with her. She refused. I then said that I'd just take the croissants to go and have them elsewhere, whereupon she said "I don't believe you" (truly, who cares 😂) and went on to say that she had been working there for 43 years (not entirely sure how that's any relevant but she was obviously trying to make a point). It's somewhat ironic that one employee must be bored at the counter, refusing to sell to customers while the single waiter is in way over his head. The only thing that saves this place is its location on a quiet square just off Place des Victoires. If anything, just go to experience the "I won't sell to you" nonsense.

We have been here and it was AMAZING!!! The best place in Paris in one week of holiday to eat on. Service was amazing - and we found the best photographer ever as you see in the picture. Nice food, nice desert, nothing to suggest to improve. The only thing which I would change was to have a chance to eat here all food exposed (which is not possible as the VAT is different).

This place has a beautiful selection of French desserts, but the staff don't speak English and are not very welcoming.

Yelp
Stereotypical French cafe close to the French Central Bank. I had a cappuccino and a tartlette chiboust. A chiboust is like a sweet cream with apple. A little too sweet for me but I wanted to try something I hadn't tried before. Service was good and servers spoke English to help explain pastries and offerings.

Yelp
Fantastic pastries, beautiful area to sit outside and eat. Traditional pleasant, grumpy French baker. I highly recommend you get a croissant. Someone brought some to one morning and it made my day.

Yelp
Love this cute little place. Had a butter croissant and chocolat chaud. My fiancé had the chocolate croissant and he loved it. The croissants were flakey and soft in the inside. The bakery had beautiful tile and the ceiling was beautiful. It really made me feel like we were in Paris.

Yelp
Le moulin is your typical boulangerie patisserie. I was enticed to enter by the delicious looking pastry display. I ended up ordering an apricot tarte which was very delicious. Normally I would go for something prettier like a tarte framboise, but hey, substance over style. It was very refreshing, lightly sweet and tart. A definite winner. Seating inside was pretty minimal, but they do have a good amount of seating outside. This place is a solid 4.5. Ordinarily, I would've probably given a place like this a 5, but Paris just has so many amazing places to eat that I have to raise the bar. To me, a 5 in Paris is something that is so special I would visit again. That's why this place is not quite a 5, because although my tarte was delicious, I do not feel compelled to revisit as there are so many other patisseries to try before my short time here is up.

Yelp
An amazing little bakery! Once we discovered it, we went every morning for fresh croissants, pastries, baguettes and more. Everything there is absolutely mouth-watering but the croissants are out of this world. In addition to all the desserts in the window, there are sandwiches available as well. There's a coffee shop next door that you can take your baked goods to and eat to enjoy there with an espresso. I also saw some servers drop coffee off at the bakery but I'm not entirely sure how that works. Whatever you do, hit up this place during your visit to Paris. There isn't anything else like it.

Yelp
My wife and I stumbled on this Pasterie by accident wandering around Paris. I loved it. We had a couple very nice pastries, cafe au lait, and tea. The service was good and the food was very good. It's a charming little cafe (pasterie really) on a bit out of the way street. It's also right down the street from Basilica of Notre-Dame des Victoires, a beautiful church that doesn't have the crowds of Cathédrale Notre-Dame de Paris or Basilique du Sacre Coeur.
