Absolutely despicable! We used to be big fans of Méli Mélo Néo. Our family being part Haitian, we went out of our way to recommend their business and bring friends to their restaurant. Unfortunately we will not be returning and will tell our friends and family to avoid this place at all cost!
Tonight we called to place a take out order only to be told rudely that they will not take the order. After we presented to the restaurant and ordered in person, the manager Marie-Julia singled me out in front of another customer and told me that it's her right to not take my order because it's her restaurant and she can do whatever she wants. She essentially told us that she did not care for our business.
I ignored her and went to the dining room with my 3 month-old baby. A waitress, Emilia, chased me out, telling me that I was not allowed to sit in the dining room because I had ordered take out. When I told her that I did not appreciate her lack of professionalism, the waitress had to audacity to ask me to repeat in French so that she could talk back to me! "Parlez-moi en français pour que je vous réponde!"
My husband tried to de-escalate the situation but the manager started yelling! We asked for our money back and will never return again. Emilia even cursed us on our way out! Such class - they don't deserve our business, or any business at all!
Update: The previous reviews already pointed out the poor service and the waste of time caused by their refusal to take phone orders. Instead of taking in the constructive criticism to improve, the owner and service staff let their ego get the best of them. Arguing with customers is never acceptable. Unfortunately for them, a bad reputation is hard to overcome.
