The 20 Best Restaurants On The Amalfi Coast - Amalfi Coast - The Infatuation

"Atrani is the smallest town in all of Italy, so any restaurant within it will be conveniently in the center (and just a 10-minute walk from Amalfi). The one to prioritize is Le Palme, a great option for time-honored Coast food at modest prices and a laid-back vibe. It’s nautircal-themed, with fishnets and ship anchors on the walls, and everyone from children to adults typically fills this place, which becomes especially lively when the servers initiate karaoke. For a refreshing starter, the steamed squid with dry tomatoes and Sorrento nuts is the way to go, followed by a stuffed dumpling with provola cheese and potatoes with flying squid." - federica bocco

Le Palme could have been a charming beachside tavern – but sadly, it isn’t. We stopped by for a quick bite since it was nearby and had decent reviews. The lemon linguine was cooked well but lacked salt, was too buttery, and the lemon flavor was barely noticeable. The classic tomato pasta was probably the safest and best option. The sea bream at the next table didn’t look appealing, and I made the mistake of ordering the traditional Neapolitan sausage. As a meat lover, I expected something rich and flavorful, but got two rubbery pieces with no taste except a faint hint of anise. It was tough, bland, and truly unpleasant - I couldn’t even finish it and left half on the plate. The staff was friendly, which helps a bit—but overall, the experience was disappointing. I definitely wouldn’t return.

Great spot to enjoy some pizza. Right across from the beach, we got take out and ate at the beach. The food was very good, I thought it was a little pricey compared to other places, but after ordering I realized the server suggested the most expensive pizza that didn’t have any meat or anything (I wanted a vegetarian pizza, but there were many other options). It was €16 and tastes very good so I guess not too bad. Most pizzas are priced around €10-€13.

We spent a week on the Amalfi coast. The food at Le Palme was amazing. Lots of tourist traps and poor offerings in Amalfi and especially in Positano. This little town of Atrani had two of the best restaurants on the Amalfi coast. Fresh homemade pasta, incredible tomatoes, lemon pars was incredible. We had the pizza and eggplant parmigiana for lunch one day and I’ve never had better. In the US I’m an Italian American and picky about my Italian food. To Salvatore, your eggplant parmigiana was better than my mother’s but don’t tell her haha. All around 5 stars!! I’d give 6 if I could

Good food. Good service. Liked everything we had there. The presentation of food could maybe improve slightly but the taste was amazing. Friendly staff members made sure everybody was properly taken care of. Lovely people. They even made return customers out of tourists. That’s quite impressive. It’s in such a nice location where the mass of Amalfi isn’t fully aware of yet. I can imagine this being a summer hotspot with flooding tourists. I definitely recommend this place.

If you're a seafood lover, this restaurant is a must-visit! They serve the best pasta in town. And their seafood is the best I've ever tried

Google
Best restaurant in the Amalfi coast!!! Salvatore and his staff are so kind and attentive. The food is DELICIOUS and the prices are very fair. We loved this restaurant so much we ate here 3 times in the 5 nights we stayed in Amalfi. Definitely eat here if you’re staying in Amalfi coast!!!!

Google
Found this restaurant by chance strolling from the busy area in Amalfina. What a find! Beautiful lunch. My wife and I shared seafood pasta which was delicious and octopus and potatoes which also was very tasty. We then had a variety of fried seafood which was outstanding. With a bottle of wine, coffees and a fab tiramisu, the bill was a very reasonable 100 euros.

Google

Yelp
Le Palme was the best place we ate at on the Amalfi coast, and possibly the best place on our entire trip to Italy. My husband and I were recommended this place by our host, whose Amalfi apartment we were staying in. She told us how to find it, walking around the mountainside from Amalfi to Atrani, enjoying the gorgeous views along the way. The walk itself was super easy and finding the restaurant was too, once we figured out that we need to take some steps down from the main road. The food here is incredible and "no-fuss." Delicious, fresh seafood and cheap wine... what the Amalfi coast is all about! Order the calamari, my mouth is watering just thinking about it now...

Yelp
Le Palme was recommended by our Airbnb host. It's a bit touristy in that there is an English and Italian menu and many English-speaking customers and the staff speak English as well. The lights are pretty and there's good atmosphere outside. We were brought Aperol spritzes upon being seated. My companion had the fish tasting menu and liked it. I had pasta--lemon sauce on linguine--it was so good! Serving sizes are bigger than in some restaurants in Italy. These are not huge American portions, but somewhere between American and Italian. The prices are fine. There's a 5-euro cover charge, but we got those spritzes and bread, so... fine. We were charged 2,50 euro for water each, but we only had one bottle.

Yelp
What a cute little spot in a beautiful location! The patio was packed but we were seated quickly and almost immediately started chatting with our table neighbors. They had seafood and pizza, we had pasta and pizza. The food was wonderful! Unfortunately we didn't take any pictures, but I'm sure you'll have no trouble finding many online. Give Le Palme a try, you won't be disappointed!

Yelp
This place was recommended to us by one of the locals and it was one of our favorite meals on the Amalfi Coast. Everything was tried was delicious, you really can't go wrong with anything from the menu. The service was great and the staff was very friendly and helpful when we had questions about the menu. We loved sitting on the patio with perfect weather!

Yelp
So good!!! Head straight for the "Bad Boy" pizza... it was my wife's favorite during our entire trip to Italy!!

Yelp
One of the best places in the Amalfi area to grab some delicious seafood and pasta! This place is a gem of a place in Atrani (just 10-15 Min walk from Amalfi and the walk is beautiful). We were greeted by the staff immediately and seated right away. We chose to sit outside as we could still hear the waves. We ordered couple fresh sea food items and they were beyond delicious. It was our last night in Italy and I realized I hadn't had any pesto yet (I am a big fan). As soon as I mentioned that to our server he put it in his list to order it for me. They didn't even have pesto pasta on the menu and it was incredible that they made me some fresh pesto pasta that evening! What's better ? I never had such delicious pesto in my life! I highly recommend coming to this place to enjoy some fresh seafood and pasta. I wish I had stayed longer and would have definitely visited again.

Yelp
We loved this local Atrani restaurant. The place gets crowded and is right off of the beach with great views and excellent food. Highly recommend!

Yelp
The warmth of everyone here made us feel right at home. We had dinner here our first night in Atrani, returning for takeout and a final lunch on our last day. Excellent food and friendly service each time. Fresh fish in lemon broth, deboned tableside, huge and very fresh mixed salad and addictive pizza (we tried a few) and pasta. This is a popular spot, but we consistanlty received welcoming and attentive service. The restaurant is lovely and relaxing. You can't go wrong.

Yelp
Cool spot with a cool vibe, but waiter made a poor wine recommendation rather than showing us a wine list. Ordered a pizza, they brought the wrong pizza, waiter was slightly confrontational when we told him that was not the pizza we ordered. He said it was exactly on the menu that it was delivered. We checked the menu. He was incorrect.

Yelp
If you come to the Amalfi Coast and do not eat here I feel sorry for you. Salvatore is charming, everything is delicious and affordable, view is unmatched. Order the rocket salad if nothing else.

Yelp
A review written particularly for those who are gluten free, but hopefully helpful for others: A little bit of a walk from Amalfi (don't follow the map's recommendation, go through the tunnel then cross the street toward the beach through a restaurant patio) but worth it! This is a wonderful family-run restaurant. They start with a ginger orange drink which is non-alcoholic. The mixed salad was solid if you're looking for something fresh and green. They brought me some slices of lightly toasted bread. The gluten free pizza was among the best I ate on this trip. I got a marinara pizza that apparently looked so good the table next to us pointed to mine and ordered the same. And truly it was delicious and didn't have cheese on it which was a bonus for me! There are no desserts on the menu that I could eat but we were told they could make something-- a surprise. We asked if it had dairy and were told it was a surprise. So taking a gamble that my husband may be eating gelato by himself we agreed. It was a cake similar to a Saint James cake. They had warmed up the slice so that the sides were crispy. It came with a sauce and whipped cream on the side but was worth the risk and the wait!

Yelp
Le Palme is to me the quintessential Italian eatery. I have been in this country several times and this is the best restaurant I have eaten so far. You cannot go wrong with anything in the menu. The pizza is fantastic and the pasta is fresh and perfect. The chef is the brother of the owner and he is called " il mago" (the magician). Do yourself a favor and go eat at this restaurant several times. You will notice is always packed but the owner will make you feel at home as he is extremely accommodating.

Yelp
Wonderful food and wonderful, friendly service with a nice patio. Very refreshing from the crowded bistros and cafes of Amalfi. Worth the walk. We found this restaurant better than many others in our town of Amalfi.

Yelp
Recently stayed in Atrani with my family & we came to Le Palme on our first night. My mom and I opted for pasta dishes--she got the spaghetti with clams and I got the pistachio pasta with shrimp. My dad and sister both got pizzas (which were delicious & so big--plenty of leftovers!). They have wonderful staff who are very personable and kind. They serve tap water and litras of vino (carafes of house wine are very important to us). Definitely recommend for a quick, delicious meal that's close to the Mediterranean.

Yelp
We came to Le Palme for our first night out in Atrani/Amalfi coast and we were not disappointed. We had the mussels to start which were delicious. The pasta and seafood here is one of a kind. The owner of the restaurant will serve tables as well and makes you feel very welcomed. Needless to say we came back two more times for dinner during our 5 day trip at the amalfi coast and every dish we had tried was perfect. We will miss this restaurant.

Yelp
The service was very friendly. If you go be on the lookout for Raphael, an engaging young man who works very hard. The spot is great- we ate outside and listened to the sounds of Atrani. We did not have a gastronomic experience, but we enjoyed ourselves.

Yelp
Wonderful food and excellent service! Very welcoming. We felt right at home in this spot near the water. Every bite was delicious and the staff was very friendly. We had some great laughs with everyone there. Highly recommend! Thanks!

Yelp
This was the first restaurant we went to when we got to Atrani. We absolutely loved it! Very authentic/local experience, unlike the touristy spots in the square in Amalfi. The service was awesome - they were super friendly and accommodating. And not to mention the food was delicious! Get some dessert too, totally worth it!

Yelp
Pizza and candle pasta with shrimp and pistachio were very good. Very welcoming hosts and service. It's basically in a parking lot, but with views of the water. This is a great place for a low key mellow and less expensive dinner.

Yelp
This is a great restaurant to try, our waiter (Vittorio) was very cool, and even gave me a free dessert for my birthday

Yelp
We were staying in Atrani and happened on Le Palme by chance. I was staying with a group of girls and they made our visit special. The food was by far the best we had during our short 5 day trip. It was so great, we went back to celebrate our last night! The pizza, gnocchi, and desserts were amazing. The service was great and they were very attentive and willing to answer any and every question about the food. I would absolutely recommend to anyone who gets the chance to experience Atrani or Amalfi.

Maria B.

Yelp
I would have given it 10 stars if I would have been able to...Amazing food, fresh, homemade, great flavors! I am not a fan of Italian food, but this one was something else! We, a family of 4, went 2 nights in a row and tried various dishes! They all surpassed the expectations! You cannot go wrong! Non so se leggi Yelp, ma ancora una volta, grazie mille per i squisiti cibi! Mi hai fatto innamorare con la tavola Italiana!

Kevin S.

Yelp
One of the highlights during my trip to Italy. Great seafood selection and obviously pasta. Service was excellent and we were waited on by the owner and his son.

Yelp
I loved this restaurant and during my stay in Amalfi coast at Atrani, I probably visited them for dinner like 3-4 times. I can't begin to explain how PERFECT the food is, magically exquisite. It is a gastronomic experience not to be missed! The service is equally great. The owner is always there, both managing the restaurant and serving tables... going the extra mile always. He is the friendliest and most attentive, worth going to the restaurant just for this type of service at a reasonable price. My boyfriend and I became friends with him and will surely miss the pasta, pizza, fresh seafood, desserts, the free limoncellos, and ambiance!

Yelp
We enjoyed it so much we came here twice. Would highly recommend the fish tasting menu. It's $45 but worth every penny. Every dish was 10/10. I don't usually like seafood that much but everything was delicious. Eat here!
google avatar

Yelp
Lovely restaurant in the heart of Atrani near the water. We had dinner here twice while staying in nearby Pogerola. Excellent, fresh seafood, and great service. You can sit inside or out. If you have a large appetite, try the chef's tasting menu...you won't be disappointed!

Angelica R.

Yelp
Food was delicious, authentic, & fresh. The owner and his son treat you as family. One of the best experiences in Amalfi Coast. The restaurant is a 10-15 min walk from Amalfi in Atrani
google avatar

Thomas J.

Yelp
We stopped here for lunch thinking that we'd just eat some pizza. Although they had no space outdoors, they actually moved a table outside for us. They followed that up with some amazing pizza. The sauce that I had on my pizza was perhaps the best I ever had.
google avatar

Kristine B.

Yelp
LePalme is a fabulous restaurant/pizzeria, and he offers nearly every item on the menu in gluten-free alternative! Food is very tasty, all 3 of us loved our dishes. I don't think you can go wrong with ANY thing on the menu--it was busy and everyone loved their food. Highly highly recommend this restaurant.

Yelp
We ate here several times, enjoying its quiet location under the arches of the road bridge above. There's a good selection of food - especially seafood - and although the service can be a little slow and forgetful especially later in the evening, the food is prepared and presented impeccably. We were waited on several times by Salvatore who runs the place, and he was funny and charming. It's more upscale than the other places in the town square, and is one of the two best places in town.
