Le Parapluie Bleu

The staff at this ABA therapy center are not qualified to carry out ABA therapy. They are inadequately trained and underpaid. There are multiple reports about this center filed with child protective services. They give out harmful advices to parents, such as, "Instead of getting a diagnosis, spend your money here". It is clear that they do not have the children's best interests at heart. They are exploiting the popularity of ABA but do not implement the therapy correctly.

The program at Parapluie Blue allowed my son to grow and find his strengths. He has learned to speak, to express himself, and be open to learning and playong. Working with the therapists throughout even the pandemic, his best interests were always paramount. The care and kindness shown to us from his team had allowed us to learn to apply the techniques to everyday life. It is amazing how much we have learned, and how far we have come. Thank you for all your help!

Parapluie bleu has changed our lives. As an autistic mom parenting an autistic child, I felt defeated and hopeless... until I met Desy, Cheryl and the team. Whereas I had a (mostly) non-verbal, dysregulated and anxious child, I now have a happy, curious, verbal, empathetic, kind, social child. Most days I don't even recognize her anymore! I wouldn't trust anyone else with my child's development. I'm also a better parent because of PB - more understanding, more relaxed, more attuned to her needs, and more patient. If I could put more than 5 stars, I would. PB is our second family, and I wouldn't have it any other way!

Very bad experience. Not representative of modern day ABA. I highly don't recommend sending your children here. Costed us a lot of money and our mental health and we didn't see any improvement. Any memorized phrases were gone as soon as the therapy ended. Increased my child's anxiety which caused many dangerous behaviours. Instead of correctly pairing and creating appropriate individualized goals for the child, it was based on gaining compliance through force. Treated my child like a robot. Didn't consider my child's interests and strengths. Wanted to make my child compliant to anyone, including strangers. Argued that my child should tolerate anyone "physically prompting" him. ILLEGAL and UNETHICAL methods were used. Extreme physical coercion. My child developed extreme anxiety due to their practices. Once a cuddly and affectionate boy became scared of even me touching him, started showing fear every time we called his name. Many Ethics Codes were violated. Maybe we are the only ones who received this type of service but this is my true experience. I do not want to be contacted regarding this review.
