Come here if you're looking for a delicious and filling brunch!
I made reservations for Saturday brunch for two at 2 pm. We arrived around 1 since our earlier plans didn't take as long as we thought, and they were able to squeeze us in a bit earlier at 1:30.
We asked our server, and the two most popular brunch items here are the foie gras poached eggs and the panko breaded French toast. He wasn't joking; almost every poached egg dish coming out of the kitchen was the foie gras, so clearly that's the winner here.
They have freshly squeezed orange juice, and it was so good I ended up getting two large glasses of it ($5 each). My friend enjoyed the coffee as well.
The food portions looked huge, and we saw multiple people take leftovers to go, which we definitely didn't want since we had plans afterwards, so we decided to share one dish.
My friend is vegetarian, so we opted for the Rural Poached Eggs / Oeufs Pochés Champêtre ($29), which is Brioche bread, goose eggs, Gaspor pulled pork, mushroom medley, and mushroom sauce. To make it vegetarian, I asked for the pulled pork on the side. I also ordered some pan seared foie gras for $14.
My friend and I each ate one poached egg. I tried it first without the pork or foie gras, and I personally found it a bit bland with just the mushrooms and the mushroom sauce. The pulled pork gives it a lot of flavor. I wasn't sure whether the pork would be good here, but it was super tasty. It's not American style pulled pork, which is drenched in BBQ sauce, but rather saltier and crispier. The foie gras made each bite feel extra rich and decadent. I can see why the foie gras poached eggs are the most popular dish here.
We paid around $80 after tax and tip.
