7 Foods to Eat in Martinique and Where to Try Them - AFAR

"Set on a small northern-coast beach with views of Mount Pelée and run by chef Guy Ferdinand, this French Caribbean restaurant offers gourmet seafood like grilled langoustines in a delicate vanilla sauce. The dish combines savory, salty, and sweet notes using local ingredients for a distinctive flavor that pairs exceptionally well with the scenic seaside setting." - Rosalind Cummings-Yeates

"A jaunt up Martinique's west coast takes you to Le Petibonum, a popular beachside restaurant/bar whoseoutgoing proprietor is nicknamed Hot Pants for his typical attire. Guests sit on a huge covered wooden terrace to enjoy great rum cocktailsand occasional live music while dining on some of the best food on the island, including grilled fish and lobster plucked fresh from nearby waters. In 2015, Caribbean Journal named Le Petibonum its Caribbean Beach Bar of the Year."

Great experience and great local food, in this restaurant right by the sea. The chef and staff are very helpful and, you can trust their recommendations with your eyes closed. A must taste if you're ever around.

Perfect to share a dinner with your family! There’s an option here for everyone. You can choose from a variety of local fish or sea food to meat. Menu changes frequently. They even prepare a vegetarian / vegan plate (just ask for it)! Service was fantastic and fast. The waiter was very welcoming and friendly. Highly recommended.

We did not eat but the food we saw coming from kitchen looked excellent. We had drinks and enjoyed the view and swimming at the beach. People were friendly and helpful. A great spot to stop and enjoy a beach day

Don’t go, it’s overrated. Bad food, unfriendly service. Are taking their success for granted without making an effort.

We had an amazing meal here! The staff were super friendly and accommodating. The chef himself served us and was very helpful in helping us make our choices: ribs, lobster and the local crayfish in vanilla sauce which was out of this world! I’m a foodie and have never had anything like it before. Right on the beach, with misting to keep you cool. Our daughter enjoyed the local cats! We hope to come back soon!

I visit Martinique often. CHEF Hotpants is always on our visit. This restaurant has grown so much over the years but the service and food is still great.

Great beach bar, good cocktails, really good selection of food and very friendly staff. The guys at the beach bar were really helpful. The free glass of local rum at the end of our meal was a really nice touch. Location is on point - right on the beach. What better way to watch the sunset!
