"Christophe Hardiquest has opted to uphold his idea of a luxury brasserie in the Corinthia Grand Hotel Astoria. In this plush, stylish setting, the open kitchen has been cast in the star role. The brasserie lineup is as purebred as the traditional tableware in which it is served, but Hardiquest has assembled a team, who adds a distinctive signature and spin. The intense filling of the shrimp fritters, the bordelaise sauce enriched with a perfectly runny egg yolk and the elaborate vol-au-vent stuffed with a creamy concoction of sweetbread illustrate how difficult it will be to make up your mind when you peruse the enticing brasserie menu." - Michelin Inspector

It’s located inside a fancy hotel. It’s a good restaurant with beautiful décor. The meat is good (they’ve changed their menu , there’s no longer any Manouche or Pain Perdu :( ). The service is very good; we were served by Mr. Merlin and another lovely lady. It’s a little pricey, but the quality is on par with an upscale restaurant. I definitely recommend this place.

Seriously this is a place worth visiting for their food, service and ambience. The shrimp croquette is the best I’ve tasted in Brussels; there are solid chunks of shrimp inside. They make their own cocktails and I ordered their signature which was really good. The service is also impeccable. I’m surprised this place is also family friendly but it’s great if you have kids. The restaurant is heated so don’t wear too warmly; there are places to hang your coats at the door.

As someone who’s currently pregnant, eating out at nice restaurants can often be a bit frustrating — so many dishes are undercooked or heavily sauced, and I usually end up picking around the menu. But this place went above and beyond to make sure I felt comfortable and cared for. The waitress was incredibly thoughtful, checking in to ensure everything was cooked well and safe for me to eat. To top it off, the bartender even came over to offer custom pregnancy-friendly mocktails — such a kind and personal touch. The ravioli was delicious, the fries were to die for, and my mocktail was not only beautiful but genuinely one of the best I’ve had. So grateful for the warm service and attention to detail. Highly recommend for anyone, especially if you have dietary needs or just appreciate thoughtful hospitality!

Thanks to the entire staff for the meaningful experience. Special thanks to the sommelier Valentine for the perfect wine suggestion, the bartender Gianmarco for the innovative cocktails, and Benedict for the extraordinary flavors. One little thing I feel that the kitchen was a bit too loud.

The service was impeccable. The drinks were amazing and the recommendations to us by the staff was on point . But , the portion of the steak was very small and the side dishes were not quite fitting to the fine dining experience. Even though the starters were good , the main dishes left us feeling a bit disappointed.

Had very high expectations for this restaurant and unfortunately it didn’t make it :(. There might be a fundamental mismatch between food quality, the location and pricing. We tried the lobster raviole, shrimp croquette and the steak tartare. It was tasty but absolutely nothing spectacular really. 18 euros for one croquette that has nothing exceptional is disappointing, the lobster was well cooked but the sauce was very salty and heavy, lacking balance. The tartare was ok. Staff was very friendly, professional and kind. Restaurant was a bit cold as doors were constantly being opened and closed near us with -4 outside.

Amazing spot. Google doesn’t do half stars otherwise I would rate it 4.5. Excellent food, service, and setting inside the nicely restored Astoria hotel. The chef himself brought one of the dishes which is always a nice touch. Great wine list - but many wines on the young side still (they are new so it’s understandable). The only downside was that smoking is allowed on the outside terrace where we were sitting, which is a shame as some folks having a drink were disrupting our food experience by chain smoking nearby. I hear there is a proposal to ban smoking on terraces in Belgium, I’m all for it!

Food was underwhelming. Was plated nicely as you’d expect from such a space , but the flavours and preparation were meh. Even their most modest side dish left you wanting. You can get better fries in most basic Belgian establishments. Place is trying too hard, and not delivering.
