Le Petit Bouillon Pharamond - Review - Les Halles - Paris - The Infatuation

"You'll have plenty of time to peruse the menu while lining up outside this picturesque three-story bouillon—and that’s to your advantage. Once you take your seat, you’ll find lightning-quick service. Zero in on the house specialties, like the lusciously gelatinous slow-cooked tripe, and the mashed potatoes that are just as good as Mom’s. Skip the bargain bin wine in favor of sparkling crémant d’Alsace. If the line is too long, put your name on the list and wait at the Irish pub next door until the server comes to fetch you when your table is ready." - Emily Monaco

We came here because we got hungry while walking around and this bouillon restaurant was nearby. We arrived during a less busy time, so we didn't have to wait long to get in. Our expectations weren't that high, but this turned out to be one of the most enjoyable bouillon restaurant we visited. The kir made with blackcurrant liqueur was delicious. We had escargot, butcher's cut, and duck confit, and we loved everything. The atmosphere was very nice and pleasant.

Very tasty food and generous portions! Prices are really affordable, especially for Paris. The atmosphere is cozy and charming, and everything feels convenient and welcoming. A great place to enjoy a delicious French meal without spending too much. Highly recommend!

It’s always packed, but the wait was fine. It’s very crowded inside but we got a table for four. There were a few item that were out for the time we visited. So we had to change our order. The food took some time but it’s not too much for the number of people the kitchen is serving. The food was good. Some items were ok. Nothing bad. Well made food, but not too spectacular. We had 4 starters and 4 mains and two desserts and 1 liter of cider, it was around 22€ per person which is fair.

We came here for its reputation as a classic French restaurant. The decor was quite unique, and the overall atmosphere was pleasant. Confit de canard was tasty, though it seemed different from the traditional preparation I was expecting—so much so that I briefly wondered if there had been a mix-up with the order! Boeuf bourguignon was also excellent, with a subtle hint of wine complementing the tender, flavorful beef beautifully. I also love the french dessert!

This popular spot does not take reservations so I got there around 6pm but still it was a full house! They’re pretty fast in French standards though so I got seated right away. The escargots were small but flavorful. I loved the tripes and how sticky the broth was - must be full of collagen! Devoured the bowl with the complimentary bread and was very satisfied.

Stoped there for a late lunch around 3:30 pm. Party of 3. The place was half full. They directed us to a table. Then when the waiter came to take the order they said one of us should move to the corner of the table to allow more space for arriving customers. They wanted us to eat in a very small table usually already small for 2 people. We said we would move if needed. Nobody arrived and the place was actually almost empty when we left .The food was decent for the price.

My daughter had been taken here the day before with her friend who lives in the city. She enjoyed it so much we decided to try it out. About a 15 minute wait on a Monday lunchtime I'm July. Food was excellent and the bill very reasonable indeed. Would recommend and would go again next time we are back in Paris.

The atmosphere upstairs is wonderful. The food is exquisite. The wines are excellent. The prices are very good for the flavor. Better than many restaurants whose names I can't mention.
