Old Montreal’s Le Petit Dep Opens a Charming Café on St-Sulpice Street | Eater Montreal

"Since its 2015 makeover into a chic, 'high-end convenience store,' the original on St‑Paul Street has set the template: serving 49th Parallel coffee, pastries from Arhoma, sandwiches, ice cream and ready-to-eat salads, selling beer with an emphasis on smaller Quebec producers and offering other gourmet products, all wrapped in a refined vintage atmosphere by designer Thomas Csano that makes it very photogenic." - Tim Forster

The charming storefront instantly caught my eye — it truly looks like something straight out of a storybook. ✨ Inside, the café is warm, lively, and full of little treasures. Not only is the atmosphere cozy, but the shop itself is a dream to explore. You can find anything you want here — from Québécois mini-books and funny local expressions to handmade chocolates, postcards, magnets, plush toys, wooden decorations, and so many adorable gifts. It feels like a mix between a café and a tiny, magical general store. 🎁✨ We had the hot chocolate, which was rich and comforting, and a mushroom & onion scone that was warm and flaky. If you love cozy cafés, cute souvenirs, and the feeling of discovering something new in every corner, this place is absolutely worth visiting. I’ll definitely be coming back. 🤍

This coffee shop has a great and cozy atmosphere. There is more then a cafe in there as they sell other goodies like wine, beer, cheeses, meats, etc. The cafe was very busy wen we went in and that made the place a little packed but the road outside was being redone so that's understandable. There is very limited seating and that was a bit too. The coffee was made very well and hit the right spot in the morning. The pastries we got were delicious fluffy and worth the line. Overall, this is such a great little place to have a cup of coffee and a quick bite to eat. I would recommend this cafè to any local or travelers to Montrèal!

A charming little hidden store in the Old Port; perfect for wandering into while exploring the cobblestone streets. You can find all sorts of souvenirs and small treasures inside, making it a lovely stop for gifts or keepsakes. The hot chocolate is decent but quite basic, so don’t expect an authentic creamy French-style one. Still, the cozy atmosphere and friendly vibe make it worth a visit.

The cute atmosphere drew us to this one. Homemade sauces lining the shelves, nicknacks lining the windows, and warm lighting from antique lamps all around. It had a personality that seemed to fit with the old town around it. We ended up with a iced vanilla oat milk latte and it was just how we liked it. sweet but not too sweet and creamy. The staff was pretty friendly and quick as well. With the constuction going on it was pretty empty but its still easy to get to. Overall a great experience.

Surprisingly pleasant despite being in such a busy touristy area! I love that they're open late and still serving everything on the menu. Look deeper into the menu, there's a few things like soft serve ice cream you won't except! I got the Ube Latte and it was truly amazing!! I great place to sit for a while, the workers don't rush you at all. Lots of souvenirs the take a look at as well.

As an European myself sitting in this little etablisement next to a couple in their 70s made me feel like sitting somwhere really far away from home but equally being close to home. The friendly staff was very helpful when I asked for a public toilet and the souvenirs from this shop are a different kind of quality compared to the standard stuff you can buy around. All in all it was a nice experience and recommendable to all tourists who want to experience a bagel + hot chocolate and a niche atmosphere ❤️

After a long night at the theatre my lady and I were quite hungry. In search of food we started strolling down St-Paul street and happened to stumble into thos neat little place. They have prepared foods and foods they can cook for you and all kids of neat drinks and stuff. My girlfriend let me taste her grilled cheese and it was pretty good! Cost 10$. Alaric recommends 👐 ♥

If you need a change from your larger portioned breakfast.... This place does some amazing pastry options. Not many seats inside but you can take away if you wish. Lovely atmosphere sharing a large bench table with other travellers and locals. Staff work really hard to service the constant queue of hungry visitors. Lots of options for drinks, but the freshly ground coffee was amazing.
