Visited today for lunch with a strong craving for soup — and I was not disappointed. The soup was very good, comforting, and satisfying.
That said, there are definitely things to mention regarding the welcome and the service. If I’m not mistaken, there were at least 4 or 5 staff members (I can’t say for sure since not everyone was dressed the same).
One of the staff members, a girl without any official uniform, may have been the manager. She clearly did not look happy to be there. Another staff member was wearing a tracksuit and what looked like indoor slippers - uggs — I actually bought the same kind for my girlfriend to wear at home. I didn’t manage to notice everyone, but the overall impression was not professional. How is this supposed to be professional? Even at Tim Hortons, the staff isn’t like that.
The welcome was very cold, and the atmosphere felt uncomfortable. I couldn’t tell whether this is supposed to be a healthy neighborhood restaurant or a fast-food place where the staff doesn’t enjoy working and shows up dressed however they want. Especially since this is a restaurant chain, the least one would expect is a consistent uniform and basic standards.
The service itself was cold, with little to no interaction or interest in customers. Thankfully, the food is good and of solid quality for the price.
Next time, I’ll order takeout — I’d rather tip the delivery driver than the so-called “waiters ».
