Le Pont de l'Ouysse

"On the banks of the Ouysse, an affluent of the Dordogne, this house is located at the foot of a cliff. In the Chambon family for five generations, it was originally built to feed the workers employed to rebuild the former bridge, swept away by a flood in 1966, one arch of which remains. Two brothers now run the family business, one in the dining room and one in the kitchen. Each expertly rendered classical recipe sings the praises of fantastic ingredients, such as pigeon cooked two ways, roast breasts and salmis of legs, or truffles harvested by the family. The patio shaded by linden trees adds the final irresistible flourish. Overnight stays possible in the hotel." - Michelin Inspector

We stayed here during a hike of the Dordogne region and it was such a delight. Beautiful surroundings, excellent room and dinner. Everyone was very welcoming and helpful.

Wonderful dinner! Every dish had lovely flavour, balance and plating though the portions could do with a bit more finesse. Perhaps address the slight musty smell in the main dining area.

We enjoyed a delightful couple of nights in this beautiful setting. We were made to feel quickly welcome and were very well looked after throughout our stay. The restaurant was full each night despite it being so early in the season and we were glad to have booked ourselves in. The food and wine were delicious and plentiful and I was really well catered for as a vegetarian.

Wonderful stay! Beautiful setting, charming family-run hotel, lovely rooms with very tasteful contemporary decor, friendly staff. Sadly the heated outdoor pool was far too cold to use. Our big regret was not booking dinner (especially because of the beautiful terrace) and by time we wanted to there were no tables left. But after eating dinner elsewhere (very few options in the area, fyi) we came back for dessert when tables had opened. Will highly recommend this hotel to everyone we know!

Sublime. We booked a table at the restaurant. We had good weather, the views are magnificent, the decor understated and fresh. The gardens in September were overflowing with produce which is used in the excellent dishes. Vegan and vegetarian friendly. They changed dishes specially for me, and they were all delicious. The service was fast and the warmth of the staff surprised me. A faultless restaurant!

A lovely two-night stay for the four of us at Le Pont de l’Ouysse: welcoming, comfortable, in a really beautiful and peaceful riverside setting, with a top-notch restaurant, well deserving of its Michelin star.

The grounds are spectacular. There are outdoor areas to sit and relax to the sound of a babbling brook. The room had beautiful old wood floors, great shower, and air conditioning. Pierre, at the front desk, was very welcoming. He made us feel at home.
